I think we heading towards Silva if Allerdyce goes. My gut says no to him. Fonseca is supposed to be heading to West Ham. Today's performance may have tipped him unless he's a charity case.

The draw of London is clearly a big factor for most foreign coaches and players.
However, money talks - especially salaries and transfer budgets - so that’s where FM can exert leverage in attracting top, people to Everton.

BobbyC, don't knock it mate. Liverpool and Manchester are known throughout the World and attract from the same.

ducksflysouth: having a history of winning the CL or PL, having a well-known coach, having the finances to pay really big wages, all make them attractive. Everton aren’t yet at that level.

Once the lure of meat-an-tatie pie, chips, peas, and gravy gets em they can't wait to come up north.

NickB57: but there’s no gravy left - the wells (in Knotty Ash) have all been drained dry by Big Sam ;-)

If you read the post online by the red paper, Sam says there's nothing wrong with the style of play, you play better football when you get better players. Forgive me if I'm mistaken but you sit 2 defensive midfielders in front of your back 4, then shove midfielders on the wing and your wingers on the bench, then your best most exciting unpredictable player in Germany, ignore the youth players and play your out of form players, then yes I guess you can create an argument to that effect.

It’s self-evident that better individual players SHOULD make a better team that SHOULD play better football, BUT that’s not guaranteed - it all depends on who selects, coaches, organises and motivates those players.
The majority of Evertonians have imho seen enough of Allardyce to believe he’s NOT the manager to take Everton forward.

Leicester won the league with a team of players rather than a side of individuals, better players doesn't always win the day, sometimes commitment and dedication and team ethics wins the day.

If m/ brough miss out on promotion, and they want Besic, might be a deal to be had with Gibson, not flashey, but sound consistant and very efective.
Plus, if we want a back up target man, I would take Rondon from WBA, not a great goals to games record, but great hold up player to bring others in, and givern his reported release amount, a bargain givern some of the crazy money for strikers.

I'd go for Adama Traore from Boro. He's been on fire this season. Been motm 13 times out of last 15 games I think. London is affective at holding the ball up, good at heading and can score. His hold up play against us was very good. Would he hold up DLC's progress or not though.

IMO should be looking ahead of Gibson, still prefer Mawson with Williams going back to Swansea as part of the deal.

Not sure that even a relegated Swansea would want Williams after this season.

I wonder what transfer fee Everton would want for Besic - and how much Middlesbrough would be prepared to, pay (especially if they’re not promoted) ? Perhaps another season’s loan with an option to buy at the end?
