Has to be dolburg for me. The forwards we are now being linked with are not good enough to break the top 4. Dolburg is a gamble yes but he is potential world class and we know he links well with klassen already. Coyb

Keep Barry, unless he wants to go, but is better we sell Mccarthy before the Irish internationals, otherwise he will be injured till the next round of internationals.

I personally think McCarthy has to go we can't get any form from him when he's injured every 2nd game. I'm Irish this whole media flare up every time he's selected for international duty is not worth the stress. He is one of those guys who breaks a toe nail and won't chance it. I fear if we don't sell him now we may never see a good transfer fee. Barry has been a joy at the club at 36 he just wants to play as much as he can. He deserves a last decent contract at a club he can play 30 games plus.

My reading of McCarthy is that he regularly play's when he is not near fully fit and that is the reason he was out for so long last season. It all caught up with him. If he had not of chanced it and made sure he was properly fit coming back he would be much better off and less prone to injury.

lol the guy who said mcca breaks a toenail and won't chance it, if there was a modicum of truth to that why did the irish team pick him and play him and make his injury worse when he hadn't played for us in a month due to injury and against his club doctors advice. lol again, you don't have to be einstien to realise macca' problem is just the opposite he plays to much when injured. brilliant player we have not seen the best of yet at efc. altho he might go if he wants too i guess, but that will be his choice imo we need players like jimmy to stay the size of your squad is what determines whether you can challenge for trophies, the quality of the squad determines whether you can win those trophies and jimmy is quality.

Hi ed if we don't look like we are going to add a new striker in this window do u think we would put a cheeky bid to take Costa on loan till January before he would move to atletico Madrid then giving us more opportunity to find an ideal striker I know it's unlikely but it would get him out of Chelsea till January and give us a top quality striker for short term.

{Ed002's Note - Rooney and Sandro have been added. Why would Chelsea loan him until January, and why would he move to Everton, particularly given they have no interest in him. Would this put Rooney on the bench until January or someone else?}

Hi Ed keep hearing you mention we have Rooney and sandro. Do you think that's enough fire power for us to compete at all levels in all competitions? Seems we come up a bit short in that depart when you compare to the other sides we are competing with. Arsenal for instance our nearest rivals boast lacazette, giroud, welbeck, iwobi, sanchez to name a few?

With the premier league europa league cup and fa cup I feel we are light up top so it wouldn't mean one player sitting out continuously more rotation at times.

He'd only put the same players on the bench as any other first choice striker we brought in and rightly so if that striker is going to score 15 or more goals a season.

What is likely to happen with Lookman.

Will he stay or go out on loan do you think?

I would personally prefer him to play over DCL, on the wing.

DCL is more effective through the middle IMO.

Part of me feels it would be a shame but another part can see the logic to send him to a team where he will get a lot of game time, would insert a recall clause.

This is going to be and was always going to be the problem with bringing in virtually a whole new first Team in this Window. How do you meld them all together. Thankfully I am not the one being paid big bucks and can whinge and moan from the sidelines in the knowledge it is never going to be my responsibility.

I personally think that if we get our targets in by the end of the month he will go out on loan. I just hope then that one of the targets has his pace or we will miss him.

Unless we've got someone lined up to come in with his pace I'd definitely keep him. Play him against teams in the bottom half from the start and bring him on after 60 minutes against top half. Looks a real threat to me but agree he's not ready to start 38 league games yet.
