A lot of blackpook fans i know say he's too inconsistent would prefer tom ince although ex rs links may make it difficult for fans to warm to him

Agree1 Disagree1

I would have him but he is a bit and miss prefer hoilett or give are own a chance

Agree1 Disagree1

Even if he is a bit inconsistent, he's still only 21 and so can only get better! Moyes knows what he's doing when he brings in young talent so if he thinks he's good enough for the Royal Blue Jersey then that's good enough for me. IMWT
Murf {Ed025's Note - fair point murf..

Believable24 Unbelievable7

Btw Tristen2 posted post. 4got 2 add me name.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much is he worth? anyone know {Ed025's Note - £3-4m would be my guess..

Agree1 Disagree0

Nar lad read it proply an is says we're in for Phillips but bpool have a fight to keep both wingers him and ince ya had me buzzing there mate that ince is a player an a half but a would have a little gamble on Phillips!

Agree1 Disagree1

Phillips is easily the better of the 2!

Just seen this tweet from a fellow Evertonian: "My mate works in Sports Direct in town and has just told me she served Leighton Baines.. I'm proper jel bean....She also asked Bainesy about leaving and he said "I can't talk about it but probs not" #evenbetter

Believable10 Unbelievable20

So baines shops in sports direct? really?

Agree0 Disagree0

And after he had been in there my mates, uncles, postman's son said he went to Aldi to do his food shopping and told anyone who would listen Everton's transfer targets for the summer and January.

Agree1 Disagree1

Did he say "probs" or "probably"? If it's the former, he needs to stop talking like some early Y2K throwback from a poorly conceived drama on e4.

Agree0 Disagree0

He comes to my work all the time (I work in a shop round the corner from his house for those wondering), he doesn't speak much when he comes in but doesnt look like a guy who is ready to move on. Baines will go nowhere!

Agree1 Disagree1

This may be true cos i got a picture with bainesy in town yesterday morning :)

Agree1 Disagree1

Sports direct? really, why would he shop there? jjb maybe jd sports but sports direct is like the netto of sports shops! he will be off to united is he has any sense {Ed025's Note - if he has got sense..he will stay with us, if he goes to utd, he would just be another mercenary, like the rest of them faceless wonders who don the red shirt..

roque santa cruz wants 2 leave man city
3 mill and prem footy i would have him {Ed025's Note - me too..

Believable16 Unbelievable19

He`ll be signing for QPR mark Hughes seems to have man crush on him for some reason

ToffeeAL

Agree1 Disagree1

Yep he could do a job for us, and have a point to prove too.

WtG.

Agree1 Disagree1

He's 31 in August. Past it now. Not good enough. We need to look at younger players.

Agree0 Disagree1

Barge pole springs to mind, only scored over 10 goals in a season once.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be a quality back up with experience but to be fair we don't really need any more strikers with jelly, Naismith, Velios, Baxter and etc, woul rather see a proper right winger in, maybe Phillips?

Agree0 Disagree0

Constantly injured and not performed in years, utter tripe that we would want him.

Agree1 Disagree0

Never rated the bloke. Jelavic is twice the player. {Ed025's Note - at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

No way! He'd want far too much in wages and he's a one season wonder. He's scored 77 goals in 299 career games, and 19 of those were in one season for Blackburn. I'd rather give Velios and McAleny (spelling?) a chance.

if baines leaves we will get gibbs from arsenal

Believable4 Unbelievable33

Why would we want a "work in progress", and why would Arsenal sell one of their major future prospects. Anyways we won't sell Baines.

No chance. Why would Gibbs leave Arsenal to come here.

rm adam lallana
a everton fan and a cheap player with skill similar to adel taarabt

Believable20 Unbelievable8

Never heard of him {Ed025's Note - southampton kid..very good..

Agree0 Disagree0

CHEAP!! U have got to be kidding! What u smokin kidda! He's valued at leased £15 mil down there.....Tristen2

Agree0 Disagree0

£15 million. Haha

Agree1 Disagree0

Well, he's been playing LM for ages, is certainly worth well over £10m (so out of your reach) and is one of the most loyal Saints players, having been with them as a kid and loving the chance to shine in the Premiership. A possible England player shortly.
So, why on earth do you think he would be interested in a move, let alone to Everton?
But he could be playing with Rodwell soon! {Ed025's Note - the sooner southampton go back down the better..

Agree1 Disagree0

Dosen't want to go back to championship {Ed025's Note - he will be...mark my words..

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe because Everton are a bigger club than Southampton? That is one reason, he would rather leave to join a historically rich club with probably the most loyal fans in England than stay down south to play for a money throwing, delusional team that does not care about the fans.

Bobcat

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree ed. Southampton will be relagated this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can u rate a player at £10m who has never played in prem-ridiculous. He has got potential but we are not interested in him. Pienaar and Tom ince are the 2 we will go for.

Agree1 Disagree1

Sensitive, and ignorant lot, you Everton supporters, aren't you!
You arrogantly suggest you can sign a player on the cheap, and you don't even know what position he plays! You even seem to know that Saints will be relegated before a ball has been kicked. The "mighty" Leeds said the same last season and we played them off the park.

Your ed. seems as blinkered as the rest of you. I'm sorry the cosy mid table safety has been upset by Swansea and Norwich, and I suspect you will see some more of it this season. I am not a deluded youngster, I have supported Saints for over 50 years and I would suspect Saints will finish mid table, but I would not be certain of that, or any other position, like your ed.

We have our fair share of silly supporters as well, but the club is extremely well supported and looks after its fans better than most. We do not need to sell to buy, and I realise this must be frustrating to you, but don't think you will get cheap deals on Saints players-we told better Premiership clubs last season that Lallana was not for sale. Players outside the Premiership not worth £10m+?, well we sold AOC to Arsenal for more than that and he had not played in the Championship. That was because he was determined to leave, Lallana is not and in my view is a better player.
How come we are money throwing? We are extremely well managed and have made one serious signing so far this summer. You certainly haven't heard from Saints what was paid, only from the press, so if you want to believe that, fine. We do not pay over the odds and will not do so. Yes, we have been linked to Rodwell, I have no idea whether that is real or media. But if real, we would certainly not expect to get him "cheap" and would not insult your club with that sort of remark.
Do young players join historically rich clubs with loyal fans-just ask Leeds! Perhaps that is really what is upsetting you up there, we are a club looking to the future rather than the past! {Ed025's Note - very articulate and well written post mate, however, my reply was to one of your more idiotic fans, who suggested that our club was somewhat inferior to yours, this is obviously not the case, as we are the 4th most successful club in english history, im sure that you do have a lot of good, and loyal fans, but you do yourselves no favours at all, by having ideas well above your station, please show some humility, and respect, for teams who were winning titles, when you were still a fishing village..

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Ed, thanks for showing my post, I thought you would not. However, why spoil it by adding a silly comment about a fishing village, Southampton has never been that. What is our station supposed to be-yes for a few seasons it will be stabilisation, but whilst we do that we are well on the way to spending £15m on upgrading our training facilities to build a base for where our owners want us to go. And we could do without being patronised about you winning titles-that was a long time ago, well before we were last with Everton in the top flight, and we were not shown to be wanting against Everton then. You will find we have come back into the top flight this time round much stronger so to start making remarks about us being set for relegation is somewhat premature. {Ed025's Note - the fishing village bit was just a bit of fun mate, good luck for the forthcoming season..

Micheal Owen to everton definite i live face goodiison and hes there now

Believable19 Unbelievable31

Hope not.....tristen2

Agree1 Disagree0

Gutted!!Dont want him, he's twice tainted RS and Manc

Agree1 Disagree0

Talk sport are saying this one is going to happen. Personally I don't want him, however, if he pulls on a blue shirt I'll bow to DM's judgement and support the lad.

WtG. {Ed025's Note - me too..

Agree1 Disagree0

Last 10 mins u might get 1 chance who do you want it to fall to...Owen or Anichebe...I rest my case! An dont all say Jelavic haha
SpekeBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill, who will be an impact sub this season, and more likely to be fit than that RS garbage.....

Agree0 Disagree0

You have a very valid point there SpekeBlue, lol.

WtG.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather have Anichebe than Owen. Owen is 32 and finished. He was past it when he was about 27. Waste of space.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't care if he is an ex Red, remembe this time last year we only ended up with unknown loans to try and pacify the fans, let's get behind the decisions of DM he won't go far wrong. I don't believe Owen will end up with us, but imàgine coming on as a sub and scoring the winner at Anfield, Paul P

why would he be at goodison?? if he was signing he'd be at finch farm i mean it's not like he needs a look round the ground is it?

b.t.a.p

Agree1 Disagree0

Everton have a tradition of signing all players in the Boardroom.
Boring little fact for you there

Agree0 Disagree0

32 and past it? he still scores when he actually plays for united, if hes on a pay as you play deal on a free then theres nothing to lose

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats funny, I seen him yesterday at Chester races so not sure who you seen at Goodison?

Hearing from insider that everton have agreed a deal with spurs worth 9.5m for pienaar and defoe. Only sticking point now is defoes wages but deal is belived to be close {Ed025's Note - hmmm..

Believable28 Unbelievable22

9.5m ?

Agree1 Disagree0

So your saying Spurs value Defoe at £4.5m i don't think so some how.

Agree1 Disagree1

No name no believe haha

Westy

That would be a good deal. Cant see Defoe moving away from the big smoke tho.

Where are we getting the money, unless Baines is leaving.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would like to see both at everton next season would be two good signing

Agree1 Disagree1

Everton fan myself, but defoe is worth 8-10 mil when playing well and we don't have that spare for one player

Rodwell wearing number 8 today. Everyone else has there normal number on. Fishy?

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Why ?

Agree1 Disagree0

I posted to Ed some weeks ago that Rodwell is now wearing number 8 from now on. It's a change in squad number and a statement that he is staying for now.

Ps. ED! Why didn't you post a number of submissions about Rodwell wearing number 8? If I do post on here I can guarantee it genuine and from inside the club.

Toffeebidder {Ed025's Note - i posted a few bidder...but why would people want to hear the same news over and over again?

Believable13 Unbelievable7

I heard a West Ham fan say to his mate yesterday "Have you noticed that when we're linked with someone, Everton and Fulham want them the next day. Moyes and Jol copy Allardyce"

I'm pretty sure Allardyce and Jol copy Moyes!

Believable28 Unbelievable8

True, year after year West Ham leak a wish list of players who wouldn't go there for all the money on offer, it happens when their season tickets go on sale. Mind you, I think we might do the same at times because lets face it anyone over 7m is out of our league. Don't know why as we have had the TV money since the Premiership started yet year after year we plead poverty, it will be the same this summer, 1 purchase, 2 Bosmans and a couple of loans.

Agree1 Disagree1

It goes on the players wages mate oh and a little matter of over 900 personnel working for Everton Football Club.

Agree1 Disagree0

Other so called smaller clubs have the same as us but regularly find more to buy players, I'm talking about he likes of Stoke not Chelski

Agree1 Disagree1

I can understand your frustration but we are bigger than Chelsea and Stoke put together. {Ed025's Note - certainly more history..

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure its the agents who link their players with the clubs to see if they get a bite. I don't think any manager copies anyone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

holtby to everton {Ed025's Note - hmmm..

Believable10 Unbelievable16

I don't see what's so unbelievabl about that Ed {Ed025's Note - he will cost around £8m...we wont pay that imo..

Agree1 Disagree1

But his a everton fan {Ed025's Note - thats got nothing to do with it!..

Agree1 Disagree1

The ed doesnt really need to explain whats unbelieveable about it does he, i mean hes a regular in the shalke team, playing champions league football on the verge of breaking into the national team and valued at 8 million plus, yes his DAD is an evertonian and holtby himselfs followed us because of his dad but we dont have his transfer fee or champions league football, its just a non starter, if he wernt an his dad wernt a blue this rumour would have never ever started as hes an unrealistic target, am i right ED?

According to the Times united are set to offer £10 million for Baines. Just shows the press are as deluded as Sir Whiskey Nose.

In the words of the great prophet, stick it where the sun doesn't shine!

WtG.

Believable5 Unbelievable28

The poor old b***ard, really is starting to lose the plot, 20m, might get him a convasation, but the market price is well above that.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt old red nose really said he was going to bid 10 mill just reporters filling some column inches im not even bothering with those rumours anymore

ToffeeAL

Agree1 Disagree0

Is the man made or takeing the p..s, we have a left "back" for sale at 10m, p. nevill, will take a deposit and payments as they are potless.

Agree0 Disagree0

Man Utd are the media darlings and act like a spoilt, petulant child. The attitude of the majority of their fans is 'whatever we want, we get' no matter who gets upset on the way.
Remember the Rooney saga? The media started the hype by constantly saying he was to good/to big for us and everyone else jumped on the bandwagon. The icing on the cake for me was that kid with the 'please buy Rooney' card on live tv which the media lapped up. One week later and Rooney's gone, the next time Utd are on tv there's the same kid with a new card saying thank you, again the media loved it.
I know it would be nice if we were so powerful but in the meantime I'm sick to death of Utd and the media running roughshod over so called 'smaller clubs' just because they can!
Rant Over.
