Eds, Has any contact been made with Jose or De Boer that you are aware of?

Cheers.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Yes, I have explained that yesterday afternoon Everton made an approach to Albers regarding de Boer to establish if he would be interested in discussing the vacancy, what would need to be paid to Ajax and to schedule a detailed discussion. My understanding it that Albers confirmed interest and disussions are set for early next week.}

14 May 2016 16:42:06
Cheers ed :-)

Hi Ed's do you think we will even try for Jose? What a signal of intent that would be eh?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what a "signal of intent" is? Do you get worried when Manchester City appoint Guardiola, or Chelsea Conte? Right now Everton has made an approach to the representative of one manager - and that is where we are.}

14 May 2016 19:34:53
Ed 02 any left field candidates? Apologies if this is a repeat question.

My arl fella is a cabby and he picked up Merseyside journo about 12 weeks ago and was told Martinez would be gone by the summer, he was also told Jose Mourhinho to Manchester United was a smoke screen and there is a good possibility of him coming to us.
Id be more than happy with Jose
Bringing the good times back!
Mr Blue.

My arl fella's a cabbie too and he picked up Mourinho from Lime Street station. When my arl fella asked "Goodison is it"? Mourinho said "no Primark please". you heard it here first!

Agree4 Disagree0

14 May 2016 14:59:16
He probably going to Primark to buy us some players that's where we normally shop.

14 May 2016 15:07:59
Mock all you want Brian mate. Just letting you know what was said in the cab.
It wasn't at finch farm with all the ITK blurts or the HP Sauce brigade!

It was only a matter of time till Moyes started blowing his trumpet in the press.

He's also talking about himself in the third person now.

We opened talks with frank de boer.

14 May 2016 10:06:30
ive changed my mind about 20 times in the past 2 days mate, i'm back on the Jose wagon now, I wanted DeBoer but mainly because of his backroom staff.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 May 2016 10:17:32
Murf

I think the backroom staff would stay there from what I've read mate .

The JM thing is a great talking point ain't it?!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 May 2016 11:14:42
Didn't hear whether Stam would come or not. I'd be as happy to see coming as anyone. A top defensive coach and goalkeeper coach is priority imho.

We'll be driving ourselves crazy waiting for this new manager. It looks like Koeman is out of the question. Next week should give a better idea who really is in the running as the season ends.

Hope we get one before the Euros.

Murff

I would have either good times

Going by pics from yesterday team looks happy and we have Everton x players in charge so I think it's only good. Should of happened after semi final in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 May 2016 11:51:02
I think any thoughts of JM coming are just going to be pipe dreams. If he's not at United at the start of the season then I will be shocked. I would though expect us to at least try to get him to show some billionaire ambition that's been promised.

FDB is available, well thought of and a born winner.

Some are worried he's like Martinez in his style, Surely there can't be 2 people in the world that poor at setting a team up for 3 points is there?

I'd take him with or without the backroom staff. At least he is skilled in the art of defending.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 May 2016 12:40:19
I'd be surprised if we got Jose too but a few reasons to remain optimistic about him.

His agent is a friend of Moshiri.
He likes Everton as a club, I've heard him being complimentary about us at least twice when he was at Chelse.
He does not like Liverpool, he once said he would never manage them for private reasons. If he comes here he knows he makes them irrelevant almost instantly :)
That being the case he might like the idea of managing their city rivals.
He will have money.
He will have some good young players.
The prospect of a new stadium.
It will be the project that people have accused him of not being able to see through.

Yes I'm clutching at straws and dreaming, but a faint heart never won a fair maiden.

Enjoyed reading that Franktheblue. I like your thinking, outside the box so to say but you make interesting points. Going to have a little day dream now about the special one 🙇.

Jose agent will be at Goodson on Sunday. Source NSNO.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

14 May 2016 09:06:51
That will be fantastic if we get him, one of the top mananager in world football, It would bring a lot of good (hopefully) press coverage and would be able to attract top players, this can only be a good thing for Everton on the world stage.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 May 2016 09:12:19
The fact that we are talking about JM is enough to bring possitive attention to our beloved club.

Lads me personally i would break the bank to bring Mourinho in to our club. We should at least try, show a bit of intent make it known approach his rep approach Mourinho himself let's have a try, its a no brainer for me. If he, s not interested that's fine we move on. As I've previously said the man is a WINNER wherever he, s been yes he rubs people up the wrong way and shows a lack of class at times but can you imagine the fireworks between him and Klopp? Besides all that employing him would really improve the profile and marketing. of the club world wide.

14 May 2016 12:29:29
Cheers Paul, don't have Twitter meself.

Mourinho all day for me, he may well see himself as past Everton's level, but I still believe in the fact that if you don't ask you never know if it's a yes or a no.

Read an article on Goal I think it was, spoke about how we have fell down from were we where, all the hard work gone, how we need to settle in a manager now and overhaul the team, players that were to be the spine might leave. How it had set us back as others like Stoke, Spurs etc have progressed, saying how we might miss out on making the most of the TV money as others beat us to players etc, due to looking a better prospect than us. Good read and true to the point, premier league starting and us missing that boat déjà vu type read.

My point on bringing that up is that ok, we show ambition, imagine the off chance he said 'feck it go on' he might only stay for 2-3 years, but in them years he would progress us 5-6 years.

I can dream, so much that iv got 20 on him at 33/ 1 with coral, 5 me own 15 worth of free bets, if dream comes true I get a payout as well, double uthoria!

Much appreciated Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

14 May 2016 13:36:59
Ed02, I take it he will be the first of a shortlist that has already been made of protential targets then?

I gather we will sound out several managers rather than one before making a decision.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of approaches to anyone else at this time. Much will also depend on what FdBs demands are.}

14 May 2016 13:48:02
Thanks again ed02.

I just hope we sound more than one out, rather than raised eye brows at one mans statement of intent leading to an appointment.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 May 2016 14:14:11
Ed02 keep a calm head when a few go off on one haha we know you like to bite

Hopefully we will get fdb but being linked with Jose is great, his agent being at the game may be a push for utd to make a move for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Mendes' visit to Manchester and Lonon were regarding players, not Mr Mourinho.}
