I was at the Wigan and millwal semi final sat in the stand next to an Irish guy with his family. Anyway we got talking and he said that he was James mccarthy's dad. When the game finished he said see you here in a month I said I doubt it as I'm a everton fan to which he replied well I will see you at goodison next season, deal has been finalised.

Cheers jm

His dad is Scottish

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2013 22:17:13
isnt he scottish. he only qualifies through his grandparents

Agree0 Disagree0

No his father is from derry but like gibson and duffy he chose to play for the republic because of his grandfather

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm only passing on a conversation I had. McCarthy is not a bad player but not a player I'd particularly like at everton!

Thanks jm

Agree0 Disagree0

Great player mate, welcome him with open arms. Would love this to be true!

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal would have come out if it was finalised especially if his dad is telling people I think he would be a great player but he would cost alot

Agree0 Disagree0

Id sooner have Maloney. But at 29 and with Moyes himself saying he needs to bring in younger players, that won't happen. BlueTone

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't James McCarthy's dad be sitting in like the player family section?

If so, then how could you sit next to him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Or he just may think that Wigan will be in the prem next season and he fancies a day out at goodison

Agree0 Disagree0

James McCarthy's Dad is Scotish, born and bred in Castlemilk. His grandparents were irish, similar to Aiden Mcgeady.

Absolutely fantastic talent right enough and would be a star for Everton.

Moyes is considering making a bid to tempt Michael Owen to put off his retirement. {Ed025's Note - no hes not...stop fibbing!..

Believable6 Unbelievable52

And DM, while he was on MOTD at the weekend, invited Gary Lineker back into the Everton first-team. Just as well Shearer wasn't a pundit this weekend or DM might have asked him as well.
;-)

Keep taking the medication lad

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard he was being lined up to take over from Brenda!

Rumours abound about Carra being the next manger {Ed025's Note - hmmm

Believable1 Unbelievable28

No I don't think they will sack rodgers tp.

No Chance

Agree0 Disagree0

I laughed at the nice riposte about not sacking Rodgers :-)

I quite like Rogers at LFC he has done just enough to keep them within a shout of looking like they are improving while keeping them just out of reach of us. Mind you Rafa is doing a sterling job at the moment I would not mind him back across the park either.

Everton will kasper Schmeichel to compete with Tim Howard if Leicester don't get promoted

Believable15 Unbelievable20

Would be an excellent signing, he's done the rounds and got the experience and now ready to step up.

first signing if reading go down is alex mccarthy, he's 23, a great young goalkeeper, had an excellent game against the RS on saturday

Believable9 Unbelievable20

One good game doesn't make a good keeper. I'm old enough to remember David Lawson!

Shropshire Blue. {Ed025's Note - i remember gordon west mate, but he was a good un..

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not just going off one good game, everytime most games he plays he is consistant, anyone remember when reading knocked us out of the fa cup a few seasons ago, he made some good stops in that game

Agree0 Disagree0

I too remember Westy Ed, an absolute legend and a true gent. My point with Lawson was that we signed him after he nutted the post playing for Huddersfield.

Shropshire Blue. {Ed025's Note - good point mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

If he plays like that (rs match) for the rest of the season Reading stay up simples!

If he has an indifferent rest of season and they go down I would say he's a one game wonder!

Blue247

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems other supporters watch MOTD as well as he is being signed by half the Premiership clubs!

Here are three rumours I've come across today which I haven't seen mentioned here.

Martin Caceres (24) - Juventus - CB/RB - Has played for Sevilla and Barcelona where, not sure if true, they had a £40 million release clause in his contract. He has played nearly 50 times for Uruguay.

Alessandro Matri (28) - Juventus - ST - Has scored 7 goals in 8 starts in the Serie A

Luiz Gustavo (25) - Bayern Munich - CM/CDM - Considered one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe.

Any idea how true they are? They seem like they'd be great signings, especially that Caceres lad who seems to be a very good player.

Believable1 Unbelievable29

Cant see any of these rumours anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you have just made these up lad

Agree0 Disagree0

There may be something in the first two players mentioned. I follow Juventus on ESPN & it's looking very likely that they're going to win the Serie A title. It's common knowledge that they are targetting 1 or 2 strikers in the summer to partner Vucinic, (Falcao & the diver from Analfield are often mentioned) so Matri is very likely to be moving on. He's a big, skilful centre forward & Moysie said on MOTD that this was the main area he wanted to strengthen.
I also really rate Caceres. He can play anywhere in defence & is a real 100% player - the type Moysie loves.
Personally, I would love to see these 2 lads at Goodison!

I live in Italy and trust me Matri is rubbish!

only if kenwright won the lottery {Ed025's Note - it would have to be the euromillions triple rollover..

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha mate did you get this in Match Magazine cause it says we are after these three in there (I'm 13 and have a weekly subscription, no haters)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, I got it from the Match Magazine. Rumours are rumours, and this is a rumour site. Just thought I'd post them since no one else has and see if anyone had heard anything.

Great news blues! Just heard from an extremely reliable source that we've met with Negredos representatives although the source was surprised that we'd have the funds. He's class!

Believable18 Unbelievable16

Really hope this is true he is CLASS

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't jump the gun, his reps/agents will probably meet with a number of clubs in the next few months before anything happens

Agree0 Disagree0

More like you've been reading the grand old team forum and trying to pass information off as your own.
