Danny Gabbidon winding it up on Twitter. Saying he has heard strong rumour that we're on verge of signing someone big! Attacking player. Won't say exactly who it is but just giving out little clues. He's got more than 4 letters in his surname.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

15 Aug 2016 22:19:35
Always spot on him too, not worth guessing as could be anyone but looks like something mad is around the corner.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:23:35
Hopefully begins in c and ends in ani. that'd be awesome 😀.
And before somebody says awt I don't think it's him.

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2016 22:25:31
Murff been following it from start, attacking player and he just said we are on fire with 3 guesses but wouldn't say who it was it was out of, James rod, Isco, draxler.

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2016 22:33:39
Any of those Pb and i'm in accident in Halifax mode mate.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Aug 2016 22:41:05
Can u imagine I feel sorry for gabbido now as he will be pestered till it happens😂😂😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:44:46
I said i didn't really mind not making a statement signing. But ill concede that if its 1 of them 3 then wow.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:46:29
There's no real point in guessing who it is because we'll all get our hopes up and this being Everton, there's a 95% chance we won't sign anyone. I'm just going to wait and see who we get and then decide whether to get excited.

Agree4 Disagree3

15 Aug 2016 22:54:33
Anyway Murff I'm on holiday in Ibiza with family and there all hammers haha just had a good laugh.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 23:09:05
Odds have been slashed on us signing sissoko of Newcastle, an attacking player, bigger than hart (size wise) and doesn't play in the premier league.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Whilst Newcastle has said they have had no offers for Moussa Sissoko at this time, they are choosing their words carefully as there has been an approach from Napoli and I would expect an offer from Cystal Palace.}

15 Aug 2016 23:23:39
He has stated he don't play in the prem. It's not sissoko who he is on about and I wouldn't say he is a big signing in fairness. He has said what I posted earlier so let's just see.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 23:49:09
He got it right over Williams, Welsh connections . have they any other players that are any good? LOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2016 00:40:36
Gareth bale lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2016 01:12:43
It's fine being able to offer large fees for transfers, paying wages for these type of players and persuading them to sign are two different things.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Aug 2016 10:03:25
Sissoko doesn't play in the prem pb.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Aug 2016 11:17:52
This is exactly why I said we shouldn't get excited and try and guess. Got our hopes up for Isco and James and it could end up being Sissoko.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:39:48
Danny Gabbidon says Everton are on the verge of making a big signing when questioned on it he says it's not Joe hart but a bigger player than him he won't say anything else but he is not premier league bold statement that he is in for a pounding if wrong.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

15 Aug 2016 21:48:09
Saw this aswell stef makes you wonder who it could be i hope its true or as you say he's in for a pounding.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:57:02
Known our luck it will be Peter Crouch! He's bigger than Hart!

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:58:47
I think it could be lacazette if arsenal are dithering we could steel in with a big wage packet.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:04:13
Me too Lee have a feeling it's Carvalho check spelling) of Porto or maybe Silva of Porto he is throwing breadcrumbs trails on who it is.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:05:47
Draxler, Isco, James Rodriguez one of these its allegedly the target.

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2016 22:13:00
He didn't say we are on the verge of signing a big player, he said we are interested in a big player. Big difference.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:14:22
Boys in truth I've heard this. and I quote . " A transfer that if it comes off will shock the top 5 as no one expects everton to pull it off" but again no one is talking. I'm gueasing this will be one of moshiri maquee signings. Excited to know who.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:15:43
Actually this is what he said:
"If you get the player I hear your trying to get you will be very happy trust me! 👍🏾"
So we are trying, not "on the verge of", big difference.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:16:52
He has said its not lacazette.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:17:35
It's also an attacking player so not carvalho.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:20:15
It's draxler Isco or Rodriguez.

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2016 23:29:21
Isco that's who my money is on if we get that left winger from Lyon then can't see it being draxler.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Isco won't be signing for Everton - nor Draxler.}

15 Aug 2016 23:40:18
Back to the drawing board lads. Like ed said its not 1 of them 3 : ( maybe gabs is after more followers on twitter haha. Either way he's stirred it ip some.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2016 00:05:17
Benteke 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2016 07:55:18
It's sissoko! Doesn't play in the prem has gave it away not feeling this one myself.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:31:00
Danny gabbido has stated we will be very happy with one of our new players we look like getting. He is a friend of the person and knows bolasie well. He is on Twitter but won't say who. But has said he is a bigger player than lacazette.

Have a look. It's not Twitter crap he is in the footy agent group that we got williams and bolasie from.

I bet I get slatted for this but have a look yourself.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

15 Aug 2016 21:34:42
He has just said he ain't in the prem.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:41:19
I read that as well PB.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:41:19
I read that as well PB.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:43:30
Carvalho gmdraxler who knows but it must be close and we all know bill loves a show piece.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:49:15
He is an attack h player as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 23:12:04
Got a feelin its Rodriguez I heard a pundit (can't remember who) saying a few weeks ago saying Everton should go in for him because Madrid are looking to move him one. Exciting times to be an evertonian 😀.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No chance. The offer is not from Everton - he would not join Everton.}

15 Aug 2016 23:38:12
who do you think it is then edd02? If you had to take a wild guess?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what this is all about - I assume that yet again you have all been misled by somebody on Twitter.}

16 Aug 2016 00:02:37
Danny Gabidon had put on his official Twitter sight that Everton are in talks with a world class attacker and if it comes off its going to shock the top 4. I no it Twitter but he has no reason to make that up out of nothing. Has he edd02?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Ah Twitter. It sounds like it was written by a ten year old - "shock the top 4"? Everton are not in talks with Rodriguez, Isco or Draxler. I imagine he will just be teasing you - it is clear that the folks from Merseyside are very easily led. Just one of those things.}

16 Aug 2016 00:16:09
I was expecting a negative comment from you eddO2 after all you are a red. aren't you? Wel I hope your wrong and these comments come back to bite u on the ass. Goodnight 😜.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am a sort off white colour.}

16 Aug 2016 10:08:31
You hope it's not one of them more like ed002. What makes you so in the know? You probably know nothing more than I do.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Why would I hope it is not one of those players?}

16 Aug 2016 13:38:37
Are you guys deluded? 😂 Give Ed02 a break, he's being realistic. James Rodriguez, Isco and Draxler are not going to Everton. Why would they? They are too big to not play continental football. Saying your signing Rodriguez is like saying you're signing Neymar or Suarez, it won't happen. The BIG signing is probably someone like Benteke knowing Everton😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 20:18:46
Hi guys, newbie on here, just noticed on we are 9/ 4 to sign Benteke yesterday 12/ 1, and. Sissoko from Newcastle today 3/ 1 yesterday 16/ 1, welcome additions or not?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - sissoko yes but benteke is a no for me mate..

15 Aug 2016 20:50:46
Wouldn't want either to be honest. Sissoko had a good euros but for me he's a headless chicken. No end product. as for the other. We need some pace he's very similar to lukaku. lazy😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 20:57:04
Sissoko is a massive no. Has the worst attitude of a footballer I've ever seen. One of my best friends is a Newcastle fan and he absolutely hates him. His performance in the Euros finals sums him up; good when the the spotlight is on him but lazy and uninterested the rest of the time.

Wouldn't mind benteke but can't be bothered with the drama of signing a Liverpool player, presumably for way more than he's worth.

Agree1 Disagree1

15 Aug 2016 20:02:37
Just spending the Stones Money. So much for 200 million.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - come on mate get a grip, there is a lot more to come yet so dont be jumping on that bandwagon yet..

15 Aug 2016 20:16:00
Ed, very nevative blue boy, if he is COYB.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you could be right there howie..

15 Aug 2016 20:25:20
What would you want, us to donate the stones money to charity, just so you know we are spending our supposed 100 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 20:25:34
The money is being spent just be patient, I am happy with the business so far. Just need to remember just because we have money we still need to be shrewd and not throw the money away. Also we need to remember that although we have money we are having to sell the idea and dream of where we want to be! Things will change over time but it's not an overnight fix!

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 20:28:13
Easy to spot them ain't it 😀.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 20:32:20
Even if we did have 200million to spend. doesn't mean it has to be spent. let's be honest how much did gueye cost again? And in the little time he's played for us he already looks a beast.
Just because someone costs 30+mil doesn't mean they will be succesful for us.
Just sit back, chill out and enjoy the ride. I 100% trust the club to sign who ever they see fit to improve us. Costs mean nothing to me.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 20:36:31
The way I understand it is that we cannot spend 100m of moshiri's money because it would go against fair play rules? So we have to sell before we can buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think its as black and white as that pedro..

15 Aug 2016 20:47:12
you can spend what you make. Valencia spent big and didn't make champions leauge and to be in line with fair play they have to let people go.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:01:25
No, I get that Ed. I just mean that Moshiri can't just chuck 100m quid in to buy players, we can only buy with what profit/ turnover we make?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im no expert on the matter pedro but i think your right on that one mate..

15 Aug 2016 21:02:53
And it has to be sustainable where wages are concerned I would imagine. We can't pay 200m a year in wages if the club only turns over 100m.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 22:34:10
I am sure one of the other Eds mentioned that we can make some application for relief against the FFP due to new ownership.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but it has to be done by Dec 31 and will apply to next season.}

16 Aug 2016 15:23:14
So if we breach FFP this year when does that impact? And how?

Would it be if we qualified for Europe next season?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It depends on the breach - and anything impacting Europe is deferred until the club qualifies but I would not worry about that at all. I am certainly not expecting any breach from Everton.}

15 Aug 2016 18:11:25
He doesn't say much but when he does he gets me excited Morishi has said that he is happy with the signings so far but is anxious to make more and that Kenwright, Walsh, Koeman have his full support also said that Bill Kenwright is working relentlessly to get more players in. COYB.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i like the sound of that stef..

15 Aug 2016 18:21:24
Me too Ed looks like he is ready to empty his big fat wallet money where the mouth is couple of big signings on the way I guess. COYB.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

15 Aug 2016 18:21:24
Me too Ed looks like he is ready to empty his big fat wallet money where the mouth is couple of big signings on the way I guess. COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

15 Aug 2016 18:42:21
I hope we get in a few more exciting players also but not Hart nor Mata who are both on ridiculously high salaries. Walsh should have a few bargains in his little book.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 18:50:42
When has moshiri said this? Just wondering if he's done an interview abd I've missed it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not an interview it is simply a statement from the Press Office, with a qoute from "him", that has been sent to all media.}

15 Aug 2016 18:58:53
Cheers eds.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 17:54:54
Hi eds do you believe Everton will sign ghezzal or is he off to the hammers?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Lyon's Rachid Ghezzal was watched on several occasions last season by Arsenal's senior scout in France. PSG, West Ham, Everton and Stoke City have all spoken with Lyon about the player but they have no interest in selling. But if he does not renew his contract and a large enough offer were to be made, that might change. Stoke saw Ghezzal as a potential replacement for Arnautovic but he is now settled. Sunderland had an approach rejected by his agent and Lyon have rebuffed offers from Everton and West Ham. It'll drag out.}

15 Aug 2016 17:23:21
Koeman been offered 50 million and remy but wants 55 million and fabregas for lukaku. May be lies but just a rumour doing the rounds.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Not by Chelsea, and it would be nothing to do with Koeman.}

15 Aug 2016 17:38:08
Can I ask by which club an offer was made for Lukaku, Ed002? I realize it's not Chelsea related, but being Belgian I'm curious to see where Lukaku might end up :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about.}

15 Aug 2016 18:18:03
Would be a brilliant deal but is 100% not happening.

15 Aug 2016 20:39:58
Wooops, Ed, I misinterpreted your reply to the original post. Sorry :-)

Welcome Bolasie to the greatest club in the world!
and selling players until it's done but it's the right thing to do.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

15 Aug 2016 14:04:18
Apparently Yannick Bolasie has signed a 5 year deal with us. Cost £25 million plus add ons.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

15 Aug 2016 16:56:49
22,5 plus addons.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 18:17:52
Yes Bill once again you are correct. At the time I wrote the above it had not been confirmed and was still a rumour. I see I was correct at least in spelling his name right .

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 13:16:44
I Ed any news on players leaving before the window shuts? Gibson, kone, mcgeady?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Yes, players will come and go over the next couple of weeks or so.}

15 Aug 2016 16:57:43
In fact my wife has just gone Ed002 but I expect her to come back.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Is this not a good opportunity to draw a line across and move on?}

15 Aug 2016 20:27:14
correct.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 11:50:35
Hi Ed, have Chelsea sorted anything with another player now or they still going to be coming after Romelu?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea are working on a number of other matters right now and you will need to wait and see regarding Lukaku.}

15 Aug 2016 12:51:08
I think if Chelsea really wanted Lakaku he would be gone by now. A firm offer would be in place and that would of been " Leaked " to Sky sports.

I don't think he will sign a new contract with us but will probably have some amendments made to his existing one regards his wage and bonuses.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 14:11:26
You cannot have amendments made to an existing contract without it then becoming a new contract by definition. This is not the EU with their 'when is a new treaty not a new treaty'.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Aug 2016 14:43:52
Ok

He will sign a new contract with us that will change nothing at all but his wages and bonuses.

Agree1 Disagree1

15 Aug 2016 16:59:30
Why would we want to do that?
Surely if we give him more money they will want to extend the contract or at least insert a buy out clause.
If the greedy gob*^*^" and his dad want more money then extend contract.
Otherwise you get what you currently get which, with his attitude and workrate, is overpaid anyway.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 17:00:44
Lukaku going nowhere unless it is for 75 Mill that Everton have put on the player. Personal opinion if the lad cannot see how Koeman and his staff can encourage and improve on his so far progression over say a Manager/ Coach of Conte's standing then he may as well go.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 17:08:26
will change nothing at all but his wages and bonuses Errrrmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 09:15:11
Any news on us looking at or getting a striker in. It showed against Spurs we need one desperately.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Aug 2016 10:41:58
Well this morning we are being linked with Charlie Austin. God I hope not!

Agree3 Disagree3

15 Aug 2016 10:53:55
I'd take him over kalinic. At least he scores.

Agree2 Disagree1

15 Aug 2016 11:07:40
I'd take Austin as a replacement for kone. 100% not fit a rom replacement.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 11:08:35
I'm always honest on here. Austin at £4m for Southampton I thought was a steal. As Toffee time says he scores. Would be a good option to have available in the squad IMO.

Only thing for me is I think injuries could be a problem. Wouldn't have him as our first choice but would certainly rather have him on the bench to come on or start some games rather than A Kone.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 11:10:02
If we could get him for a similar price that Southampton paid for him then he could be a steal. But depends if they'd want to make a big profit on him. I don't think he's the answer to the striker issue just in addition to signing another striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 11:25:07
He's a far better option the A Kone, scores goals and works hard. However, Saints were able to sign him for £4m because his contract was expiring. I very much doubt he'd be allowed to leave for the kind of price most of us would feel was acceptable.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 11:58:03
Well let's face it, a mannequin from the Everton two store would be better than A. Kone. At least you could put it in a good position and bounce the ball off it into the net! Lol.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 12:04:59
It's Lois Saha all over again. No thanks.

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2016 12:36:23
Saha done well when he played imo.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 13:48:15
I agree Toffee Time. But he was rarely there when he was needed. I'd rather someone more reliable.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Aug 2016 14:12:53
Austin would not come here anyway, all these discussions regarding him have been had before. The bloke is a stay at home.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 17:05:06
PB78 no it did not show we needed a striker desperately. What it showed was Kones exit door but Mirallas and Del Boys improvement under Koeman and believe it or not Mcarthy's ability as a RWB. Modern football (where have you been) does not need or rely on an out and out striker (CF) but the flexibility of the forward line and its constant swapping of positions and scorers, under Koeman that looks like the direction we will take.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 21:01:29
As a club I think we should expect better players than Austin. We need a bit of pace too especially if rom stays. We should be looking at better quality for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2016 08:07:34
Lukaku and bellew just followed bolasie on twitter. isn't this the modern day signal of he has signed.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

15 Aug 2016 11:10:51
Looking like its an initial £22.5m for Bolassie according to Sky could rise to £28m with add ons.
