Just heard ssn that landon Donovan has agreed a 2 month loan with us

Believable29 Unbelievable1

Well done landon lad done the right thing

Agree0 Disagree0

Confirmed on the OS. Brilliant news, although it is only 2 months, the effect this lad not only has on the pitch, but off the pitch is well worth it. I still remember last time out he gave Goodison a really positive vibe and I can already see from talking to other Everton fnas that it is having the same effect again {Ed025's Note - it has given us all a lift..

Agree0 Disagree0

Two bits of good news what with barkley signing a 4 and half year deal too. Now if we could just sign a quality striker and a creative midfielder then we could really push on in the new year. Thoughts Ed
Cheeks {Ed001's Note - isn't Donovan a quality striker? Barkley would be the creative midfielder to me. So all that is needed is to strengthen the squad with quality cover.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We tend to play donavan out wide Ed, well at least we did last time and he isnt an out and out striker in my eyes. Barkley is still to raw and young Ed. We could really do with someone like moutinho, holtby, gaitan, marvin martin etc
Cheeks

Agree0 Disagree0

Still great news though, hopefully he'll be the breath of fresh air he was last time, enthusiastic and different ideas.

Ed, any truth in the rumour about us bidding £500,000 for Beira Mar defender Yohan Tavares. If so, another defender? How many does Moyes want? {Ed025's Note - first i have heard...surely our priorities are a striker, and a creative midfielder!..

Believable4 Unbelievable10

I heard this one as well might have some mileage, if so then Moyes has well and truly gone mad.
Toffeeboy {Ed025's Note - i dont know of him..so cant really comment toffo..

Agree0 Disagree0

If you ask me, I think our problem is we don't have enough defenders.....lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't no why your being negative mate I personally think there is room for a centre bk distin is 34 heitinga is crud an jags is playing injured rant over although we defo need a striker an creative player

Agree0 Disagree0

A bid for this lad could mean we are selling heitinga to free up some funds for a much need striker and midfielder

Landon Donovan has just tweeted - 'Once a toffee, Always a toffee.' Is he coming back!?

Believable29 Unbelievable4

This happens alot with players on titter lol .. they proclaim love for a club to spark interest most of the time it's agents ect lol ... much like vladimir wiess with rangers ... moved to La liga and still consistently spouting his love for rangers ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Donovan does seem to have a bit more integrity than most players. Hope he does come back, decent player and good to have in the dressing room. I've promised myself I'm not going to be a cynic for Xmas. Ho ho ho. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally disagree with that point...Landon has been constantly tweeting about everton since the start off the season and i reckon he loves the club ...what do you think ed {Ed001's Note - he does definitely have a soft spot for the club, but many players do have soft spots for clubs they have played for in the past, it means little.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He never wasn't coming back son

Agree0 Disagree0

Donovan is coming back apparently someone on NSNO has been told by a good source. PADDOCKBLUE {Ed001's Note - I would be surprised, while he enjoyed playing for Everton, he wasn't keen on living in the area. He found it difficult to get the quality of food he is used to eating, our idea of fresh fruit and veg is not the same as most countries! I can understand what he means, me mam and dad are always going on about how much nicer the fruit and veg is now they have retired to Spain. The MLS are trying to set up a system where one young player trains with each English Premier League side during their off-season, maybe Donovan is a sweetener for that deal? It is very possible, I know Everton have defo asked about the possibility of taking him on loan and I have yet to hear of any US youngster join the club to train, unlike Brek Shea at Arsenal and Agudelo, who was at Liverpool.}

Agree0 Disagree0

At last some1 with correct info ed are you goin to eat humble pie I no its only a 2 month deal but hopefully he will boost the other players an pick up from where he left of last time {Ed001's Note - like I said, I am surprised, even though the club had enquired, I didn't think it would happen again. Great deal for Everton, 2 months is plenty to build confidence throughout the team and get it flowing.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought it was mrs thornton who
said that

Any newson drenthe ed? I think we need back for the xmas fixtures he offers us pace,creativity and most importantly unpredictability! Makes for an exciting watch! {Ed001's Note - the rumour is, I stress this is just a rumour, that he will sign a pre-contract and that it has already been agreed verbally. Before someone says he can't agree yet, he can if his current club agrees, and they are happy to just get rid, though not every deal is always done fully above board anyway. I wouldn't be surprised for him to sign a permanent rather than pre-contract in the New Year. The worry is that someone else jumps in with a better offer, though he has not had a lot of interest from elsewhere as of yet.}

Believable8 Unbelievable6

I was actually refering to his injury ed and if you knew how bad it is? But the info you have just given me is awesome! I hope we get him! {Ed001's Note - sorry mate, I just assumed with it coming up to January as that is all us editors ever get asked about round the transfer windows! As for the injury, I haven't got any kind of return date for him yet, though some people are of the belief that there is not a lot wrong with him and that he is simply being held back to keep other clubs from becoming interested. I don't believe that myself though, I am sure if he was fit Moyes would want to at least have him available to play from the bench just in case.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Just seen that he is expected to be back playing across the Christmas fixtures. Much needed fresh legs up I think!

Agree0 Disagree0

It would probaby be beneficial to us if he didn't play for the next three weeks so that no one can see how good he is, he can then sign up without any other clubs trying to pre contract him, Moyes'ee may be thinking the same and that is why he isn't playing as much as we would like him to, just a thought Ed

Degsybluenose {Ed001's Note - that is what some people are suggesting, I just can't see it though, Moyes will need him over the Xmas period.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Signing him in January would be absolutely amazing news. To me he far surpasses Pienaar in terms of creating and scoring goals (although wouldnt mind Pienaar in Jan), I mean in the limited action he has seen he has scored 2 goals and has had 5 assists. So important we secure him on a contract, and he seems very happy to stay, I saw an interview with him and said he is just waiting for Everton to make the move.

Agree0 Disagree0

Says in todays paper moyes wants to see him improve his fitness - so he's not a definite from our side

Agree0 Disagree0

Just seen that Jags has said that he looks forward to seeing Drenthe playing against Norwich and that it will give the team a boost.

ive heard strong suggestions today floating about that come early january everton putting a bid in for GIGNAC on loan till end of season view to permanent move in summer.as for LUKAKU we wont be getting him as the african nations is coming up and players are set to depart for that and with anelka gone at chelsea,AVB will keep LUKAKU.

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Anelka's French {Ed025's Note - i dont think he meant to the ACN..just gone!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lukaku plays for belgian so he carnt go the african cup of nations

have just read about us looking into Lewis mcgugan at forest - looks a real talent and have been told should make the step up to the premier league with ease, just needs to improve defensivly, but i suppose thats not his game.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

Umm, of course he needs to work on his defensive game, it is the main attribute that Moyes looks for in a striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Love the last post i literally spat coffee all over my desk when i read it
Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a WINGER

Agree0 Disagree0

Id love him to join us good talent but id dont think hed like to leave the home comforts of nottingham

Think Drenthe has been a good signing.. any chance of a permenant deal in January Ed? {Ed001's Note - there is every chance of getting a pre-contract deal done then for the summer. Though it will depend on other offers, unfortunately it doesn't matter how happy a player is, often they will just go to the best offer.}

BBC sport says Rodwell is to be offered a contract by Manchester United which see's us getting 20 million, with that we should replace Arteta and get a striker 10 million on each ? thoughts fellow toffee's. but i personally would rather keep hold of the future England captain.

Believable4 Unbelievable17

Yep would take 20mill all day, 10mill for a good striker a few million on a young creative midfeilder (e.g parejo, marvin martin etc) and maybe 1 or 2 mill on zaha or adamoah

Agree0 Disagree0

Take the money buy the following
kevin davies bolton strong forward player moyes would like as holds the ball up.
stephen ireland villa box to box player
defoe spurs,owendu man city plus any loan deals

Agree0 Disagree0

Where's the link? I can't see anything about this on the bbc site...

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt take it, I dont trust BK in giving us the money, I would rather keep one of Englands brightest stars then risk selling him and getting nothing.

Also, what does selling our best players mean fo our club? What will the likes of Barkley and Fellaini think? I would rather keep our youth in our setup than lose them for a short term fix, if we can keep this nucleus of this team for another 3/4yrs, then we could have a brilliant team.

Of course, if a stupid offer comes in, then take it, but I would rather keep Rodwell.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should sell £20 million is a good price and we could invest in a decent striker and creative midfielder! and then maybe just maybe we will go all out attack :) ...... or not

Agree0 Disagree0

Only if and a big if, moyes gets all the money plus some of arteta money to spend

Agree0 Disagree0

We might get a striker but i dont think he would cost much can you see the club spending cash i cant. that will go on paying the debts.all i can say to the board is please if it happens give dave the cash we need players
