i like the way most of us wish rom well when he leaves, class, but i trust our new regime to keep pushing us forward, and let's not worry ourselfs over how much we will get, billl always screws them for every penny. stones, rooney, lescot, fellini, . i hope we all get behind rom and he finishes the prems top scorer. the feel good factor has been the best for years. coyb.

Rooney?

Do wish Rom well IF he leaves. We will get bigger, stronger, faster, quicker and better without him. I have no doubt we will find an alternative solution.

Let's just remember he's not actually gone yet! So let's not get on his back we should all keep cheering him on to score those goals!

my only problem with Lukaku is the timing he should of waited until the summer instead he has slightly dented the feel good factor that has been building which always seems to happen on the plus side he didn't say he wouldn't sign a new deal but we have to show we mean business.

I think it's still an IF currently, he has ambition and wants to win things and from various things I have read like many, he is disenchanted with the progress in transfers, there are references to conversations with Kompany and how things changed there rapidly and I feel he is looking for similar so this next transfer window will be crucial as Koeman has often stated.
However if he does decide to go in search of champions league now then I wish him all the best and yes we will carry on.

the only problem there southern toffee is when it happened at city there was no ffp in place so they could spend spend spend we can't.

True but aren't the club able to get relief from that for a while due to new owners investment?

Plus I am sure it takes into account an average over a few years which let's be honest we haven't really spent much and even now a large portion of our outlay was recouped by the Stones sale.

And then mix in the increased revenue new shirt sponsors sponsorship of finch farm etc and I am sure we have a lot more revenue coming into the club now.
So I am not saying we copy city as I feel we already have some good players at the club and some amazing youngsters coming through so we can afford to make a big splash in the market this summer and make that statement, but it still needs to be the right statement with the right players!

I'm sure I heard moshiri say anything we bring in plus 7 million I might be wrong though that's one of the things that did piss me off with Lukaku we have massively improved our sqaud add to that youth looking good gone from 11th to 7th with Europe looking like a goer and Lukaku says we are not matching his ambition all this and remember Koeman has had basically 1 and half transfer windows.

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Mar 2017 20:21:28
Anything we bring in plus £7m? Not sure what that means, where did Moshiri put that out?
So are you talking about just from player sales? Or does that include Prize money from where we finish in the league? Plus the Tv money? Sponsorship deals etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2017 23:06:54
I think it includes player sales sponsorship any incomings but as I said I'm not sure that's why the new shirt sponsor is massive not to mention usm finch farm but we still have to remember we are very limited by corporate box's or lack off and not matter how much moshiri has we are still limited by what we can spend compared with the current top 6.

Man City situation doesn't guarantee success. For all the money they have spent this will be the third season since they last won the league, and for a team who has spent ridiculous amounts of money that isn't success. In this same time they have won the league cup twice, which is the lesser of the domestic trophies. Now don't get me wrong I would love us to win the league cup just to break our drought, but considering what they have spent and the players and managers they have had this should be the least of the trophies they are expected to win. This season again they fall short in the champions league and the likelihood of winning the league is slim to none. Lukaku can mention what Kompany says about City all he wants but in all fairness they have underachieved for the outlay in recent seasons and this should be a warning to Rom that money doesn't guarantee success, just ask Leicester.
The Champions league statement to me again is not ambition just an excuse as he feels that we won't ever compete for that so it's an easy out, yet his agent has apparently been speaking to Ed Woodward about a move to United! Now unless they win the Europa they won't have Champions league and if as expected Ibrahimovic signs an extension then Rom will find himself on the bench again playing second fiddle to a player who is a much better all round striker.
Let's move onto Chelsea, will he get game time there if Costa stays? No chance as again Costa has a lot of attributes that Rom lacks in his all round play.
So Mr Lukaku were do you go for your Champions League platform? PSG and a poor French league and the chance to participate in the champions league but never actually compete to win it? Bayern Munich are a step to far at this time in your career as they have a striker in Lewandowski who not only scores goals but has a great first touch and can play with his back to goal and has great ariel ability, all of which at the moment Roms game lacks, not to mention Thomas Muller who is also a great striker who can play the flanks as well as the lone roll due to his ability.
Madrid? No chance, Barcelona? No chance.
Italy and Juventus? Maybe, but again it's a piss poor league and the chances of winning the Champions League and not just being a number are again a stumbling block, might as well go to Arsenal.
I feel after evaluating the options he craves and the actual chances he has of playing for these teams that he will remain at Everton to progress as he has done, the only way I see him going is to Chelsea IF they get rid of Costa.

I love all the newspaper articles about how he might go to Utd but they aren't even in the champions league spots.

I agree bluegray87 at any off those super clubs he is just a squad player I still think he will sign a new deal at us and he is playing a little devil's advocate hopefully moshiri has now learnt that kenwright and Elstone should not negotiate transfers the future is blue even if we do it by improving a bit each season I'm fine with that.

19 Mar 2017 09:10:23
I both hope and agree that he will Sign a new deal however. and I hope I'm not lambasted for this. I do think sometimes that our blue tinted glasses can get in the way of some thoughts. Personally if I was say playing for Athletics Bilbao or say Marsellie (even if we go with the media led consensus that out perm is the best) and I was scoring the goals that Lukaku was at 23 years of age with at best 12 short years of football left to play, I would be wanting to move! . My mate (Witsel) has just gone to China for the $, Adam Lallana is getting paid 120k a week, my captain (yesterday's game) doesn't even get picked for his National Team. Come on. I'd be giving my hea a wobble if I firmly believed in my own abilities and looking to the sky! . I was not born in Bilbao, I'm not Spanish, they have not qualified for the Champs league once in my tenure, and I have done the job at my end which is score goals which is the rarest of commodities in the game. Yes. the club has given me a platform, but again we expect players to be loyal but clubs never are. If I don't cut the mustard my manger can and will be ruthless (rightly so) but that door swings both ways (Niasse) . Again folks . I think he will stay, I hope PSG, Juve, Milan (new found money like us) don't come in cause i would be off. Man Utd. ok send Rashford in this direction and let's talk business. Let's just get BARKLEY signed cause he is one of our own .

Ive seen a lot of the twitter feed today has been people asking to get Dembele in to replace Lukaku.

I think we would be striking gold if we swerved him and went in heavy for Kasper Dolberg from Ajax - the lad is top drawer.

Hold up play, awareness, link-up play, and his dirty right peg make him a level above.

He is a year younger and imo the dutch league is harder than the Scottish.

He is physical and looks like an absolute player.

Eds do you know which clubs, if any are in for him?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - A number - including Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Spurs.}

Iv been saying this to my mates. Think he looks like a top player.

Ed002 - What would be the chances of a club like Everton (no champs/ "Big Side" - coming in for him.

If we offered him a good package and paid slightly over what Ajax value him at, would there be a chance or is he destined for the top top clubs a la' Chelsea and City?

Cheers.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I thought the original question was about Dembele and not Dolberg - so apologies. Everton has indeed shown an interest in Kasper Dolberg but I think it very unlikely he would want to step down from a Champions League club to Everton - it would make little sense for him - but in saying that they would likely offer him more opportunities than he would get if he moved to any of the Champions League playing sides who are interested in him, given there are other sides intersted in the player who would be able to offer him Champions League football - and that would generally sway most players. Everton I expect to look again at the likes of Sebastian Rudy and Lukasz Teodorczyk both of whom have been of long-term interest to the club. To be honest they dropped the ball in January when the failed to come up with the right deal for Manolo Gabbiadini and let Southampton grab him from under their noses}

No worries at all mate.

Hopefully we can get some players in early like Sig or Tielemans, to show some intent/ direction and make us look more attractive.

If Lukaku goes, with our only strikers being Kone/ Tara/ Calvert-Lewin. Hopefully players will see the chance to be a starting striker for a top 7 Prem side as a good move.

And i totally agree Ed, watched the lad play for Napoli more than enough times to know he would have been a shrewd addition. Intelligent footballer and can operate leading the line or sat in behind. Opportunity missed indeed.

Thanks for the info as always!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - One player who would be viable and is going to be available is Dries Martens - a couple of Englis sides are already taking a look.}

16 Mar 2017 11:34:37
Was going to ask about him as well mate, but didn't know whether he would be looking for champions league clubs only, like Lacazette has hinted. Is Mertens prepared to drop down a level?

Like to stay realistic with our targets Ed.

We probably have more bargaining power in the next window, due to the higher wages we can offer now and the possibility of European football next year, albeit Europa.

One last question Ed. I know Sig has already turned us down twice now, (fair play to the lad, he wanted to help Swansea stay up) .

Do you think he will be prepared to move in the summer now, as he's 27?

Cheers again Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Martens wants to move to the Premier League and none of the interested sides are in the Champions League - and one is not even in teh Premier League - so I think a good viable option.

Swansea want to keep Gylfi Sigurdsson but are aware that he will attract the attention of other clubs in the summer - notably Roma and very possibly Everton. However, I think there will emerge interest from elsewhere that might be a surprise and taht would be Inter and old club Spurs.}

16 Mar 2017 13:26:15
Would certainly add a goal threat and can play anywhere across the front 4. I read Newcastle were trying to bid for him, so i'm guessing that's the team outside the Prem.

Cheers for all the above info Ed, appreciated.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes Newcastle have already held a discussion with his club - who want a new deal. West Ham have also looked at him but prefer two others.}

16 Mar 2017 19:29:30
What a surprise. Spurs in for a player we are showing interest in lol. I mean how many midfielders do they need.

17 Mar 2017 23:03:32
Not sure I would go back to Spurs if I was him but football is a funny old game.

Isnt Rudy moving to Bayern along with Sule ed2?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes but he is available for a loan for the whole of next season.}

19 Mar 2017 04:52:30
oh!
Then who are looking at Rudy ed2?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - No one that I am aware of at this time. Nayern have the player arriving but no obvious place for him in the side just yet.}
