Where u hear this from and to be honest not really bothered hart so overrated prefer us to go for Forster butland or Leno.

I hope you're right. I say give Stekelenburg his shot in goal. He had a great opening performance and I think he should be rewarded for it. I think he's been sat on the bench for too long at Fulham and wants to play. The man looks hungry, so let him feast.

He played plenty of games last season. and they weren't for fulham.

18 Aug 2016 09:30:40
Yea I'd happily spend 30-40m on butland or Leno or perrin of Genoa.

It's one of his options.
I don't think he's decided yet.

He could well wait till January.
He will do what's best for him.
If he wants to remain England keeper then I don't think going to Spain will be the answer as others in the Premiership will be more in the spotlight.

Toffee time yes he played 17 times last season for Southampton on loan. Plenty of games? Season before 1 game on loan with Monaco I think. Season before that 19 times. So in 3 seasons he played 37 times. Not great for a keeper.

Don't get me wrong he deserves a proper shot at being keeper for Everton. I was over the moon with his performance against Spuds. I may stand corrected but as far as I know the above appearances are fact.

Whether he becomes our number one or number two it was a shrewd bit of business bringing him to Everton. I'm delighted he is in the squad.

Good to see Hart going to Sevilla as he is the most overrated keeper in world football. Would take Stekelenburg over Hart every day of the week and twice on Sunday. In saying that I still believe we need a top quality keeper, just glad it ain't Hart. How he is still England's number 1 is mystifying.

Have you seen that video doing the rounds by a red 'we're still skint'?

As Kevin Keenan once said 'I would just love it if. ' We get another mega rich investor! Haha.

If you think that Usmanov will sell his shares in Arsenal to invest in Everton Just can, t see it happening.

17 Aug 2016 20:15:41
Sell to who and why would someone pay approx 400m for 30% when it would mean having NO influence whatsoever.

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Aug 2016 20:45:21
Kroenke would

Why have 70%of Arsenals profits when you can have 100%

Basics of business that Blues.

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Aug 2016 21:34:01
Murf. What profits exactly? They don't make much profit, it would be investing a further 400 million to one day sell it for over a billion but business sense would suggest like the dot com boom football has peaked. Usmanov won't happen and as I have said several times before, Moshiri is not football rich, he's the 8th richest owner in the league and about the 15th richest investor. We are in a much healthier position than a year ago but we are no more mega rich than any other established prem team when you factor in tv money vs fair play restrictions. City have endless funds because the owner is so wealthy his companies can be the kit sponsor for x amount and stadium sponsors for y, Mosh is not on that level. Even with Stones money we have 2 big signings 20-30 mill available in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree4

17 Aug 2016 21:46:27
To put things in context Murf, Arsenal in the CL make an annual profit of about 24 million, that would mean a 15 year wait to see a return on the 400 mill to be the person receiving that profit.
Now it's assumed that football has peaked due to the fact that clubs are turning profits now but not matching their valuations. The figures required to takeover leave a very limited number of buyers for what is a potentially extremely volatile market. It's still a play thing rather than a business and until that changes those with the cash to invest become a smaller and smaller party.
Bill Gates ain't going to invest in sports because it's not a wise investment.
Usmanov could want to sell and buy us out but the likely hood of someone matching the required investment for 30% of a toy is slim to none.

Sorry boys but svenny has it pretty much nailed on there will be more investment I'm sure especially if we get the docks stadium but usmanov will not be happening.

18 Aug 2016 01:06:05
If you had 13+billion and the guy that has more say than you has 8+billion and you are willing to put more money in then the other guy and you can't get much say on the board the I can see why we are getting linked with usmanov. Not saying it will happen but you can see why the link is there.

18 Aug 2016 06:47:04
Sven the reported profit is what is made after all bills paid, that invludes owners/ shareholders dividends.

18 Aug 2016 09:23:23
So morbid on here. There's plenty of people that'd buy the shares. It's a business and they get champions league every season without fail.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2016 11:33:45
There are plenty of people who would pay £400m to buy shares in a business that they will have NO influence whatsoever?

I don't think do, it doesn't sound like good business to me at all!

Any way he's released a statement today stating that he has no interest or intention of selling his shares in AFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2016 12:20:21
Usmanov is a multi billionaire and could easily disperse his shares in Arsenal amongst his family. Not strictly legal but he would no longer have a direct interest in the club and he would then be free to invest in us. There's always a way around things if you have the money and he has that by the bucket load.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - but he is an Arsenal fan, so why would he want to do that?}

19 Aug 2016 03:56:46
Chelsea are about to sign a 33yr old portugese keeper, this may be as back up so they can let Begovic leave. if we could get Begovic and let him slog it out with stekelenberg for no.1 shirt.

Morning Ed Sissoko rumours in the papers again what do you think of him as a player.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - he performed very well at the euro.s AB but he seems to play well when it suits him, he certainly has talent and maybe ronnie could knock that out of him mate..

17 Aug 2016 21:09:39
Iv we pay 35mil for sisoko My season tickets going in the bin. Has 1 good then goes missing.

BBC are reporting that Joe Hart is considering a loan move away from City.

Ed do you know if we have made an offer for him?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - My understanding right now is that Sevilla is the only club to have spoken with them at this time.}

17 Aug 2016 10:54:33
Hi eds

In the echo that we have spoken to Newcastle regarding sissoko and that us and stoke are after brozovic. is there any trutb?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Everton speaking to Newcastle but Crystal Palace have done. Inter's Marcelo Brozovic has been made available to raise funds with the club offering him to Spurs, Everton, Arsenal (who previously tried to sign him from Dinamo Zagreb) and Chelsea. Villarael and Barcelona have been watching him as well. Inter were looking to replace him with Grujic but have lost out there to Liverpool. Arsenal's interest remains and a bid is certainly possible. Someone from one of the other sides approached saw the EPL as too much of a step up for the player - who has made no secret of his desire to join Juventus. And an unsolicited approach has been made to Juve. Stoke and Palermo have spoken with his agent.}

17 Aug 2016 11:50:32

I think it was Sky saying we had begun talks with Newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle have said two clubs enquired after a price for the player in addition to talks with CP. I suspect the price is scaring clubs away.}

17 Aug 2016 12:33:19
Sky reported this morning that Everton denied any communication about Sissoko.

17 Aug 2016 13:08:15
In fairness I would rather have had brozovic out of the 2. Much better player and cheaper.

17 Aug 2016 15:00:02
They want £30 million don't they? I was ok with the Bolasie deal but was not wholly convinced by Sissoko last year or in the Euros.

Seen some rumours that we have put an improved bid in for ghezzal and that they are ready to sell. Not a clue how reliable though.

Yes, I saw this in French Press this morning. Increased bid to 13m Euros.

He's a good player and scores a few goals the only concerns I have is that if we sign him he will be away in January for African nations cup along with bolasie gueye and kone if he signs.
