why do i keep seeing the name rafa pop up, are you mad? this is someone from them lot across the park who loves liverpool who still gets involved in off field stuff with the club and once called us a so called small club so behave we are everton were better than that, if you could pick rafa over giving unsy and dunc temp charge for now to restore some passion in our team you must be mental.

I would look no further than Marco Silva if you do not offer it to Unsworth. Great young manager did well at Boro in half season and impressing at Watford.

He was at Hull not Boro and both teams got relegated.

As good as his start has been at Watford, if we seriously want to change the dynamics of this great club, we need to be aiming higher than him mate.

{Ed025's Note - i happen to really rate him JCW, one of the best up and coming managers in the game for me mate..

Me too ed, I think he's a great manager and could be the next Mourinho/ Pochettino. Don't think we have any chance of him leaving Watford mid season though.

Rafa is still idolised by their fans so how nice would it be to rub their noses in it by having him wearing a blue tracksuit?
What he said was in the past and you cannot deny the fact the man is a winner and a tactician, something we lack in the dugout, I want what's best for us moving forward and if having a manager who actually knows how to set up a team to win who just happened to be a previous Liverpool manager is that man then I for one will support that decision.
He had success at Liverpool, Valencia before them and also Real Madrid, he brought Newcastle back up first time of asking and has them overachieving this season.
Unsworth has done great with the U23's but when it comes to the first team and setting up the team for different opposition and different tactics, he is inexperienced and could likely be found out and found wanting. We as a club need to bring in a manager to stabilise us and move us out of the crisis we are in and get the best out of the players at his disposal by playing them in proper positions and also a man not afraid to drop under performers, and pick a team, not 11 individuals, the only manager that would be tempted by this project and who has the experience is Rafa, so come on lads let's forget the past, I mean we seem to have all forgotten Rooney's badge kissing antics!

One thing your all forgetting is would Rafa actually want to manage us? That's a pretty big presumption baring in mind how much he loves the reds.

I doubt he would even contemplate being our manager when he has got such close ties to the rs and with how toxic the animosity is between the two sets of fans. I've always felt that he took over teams at the right time and never really rated him but his time at Newcastle has changed my thoughts a little. Respect where it is due I suppose. That said, I wouldn't want him as our next manager when the time arises.

Not sure about Rafa- think there is too much history there.

Ancelotti anyone? Chris Coleman? Punt on Ryan Giggs? Sean Dyche or even Sam Allardyce?

Beware Silva reminds me of Martinez up and coming, doing well but getting sides relegated?
Benitez will not come!
Ancelotti will not come!
Alladyce may become a necessity!

Rafas Mrs still lives in Caldy, sorry not buying the loyalty to LFC thing me, his loyalty has got to be with his Mrs and if the opportunity arises for him to be at home fulltime with her surely he takes that opportunity.
We are a totally different proposition to the knife to a gunfight Everton he called a small club.
