Hi Eds,

Which level of club are looking at Malcom - Bordeaux.

Are the big dogs circling yet?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Malcom was of interest to Barcelona, Olympique Marseille, Dynamo Kyiv, Chelsea and Juventus before he left Corinthians for a loan at Girodins Bordeaux to gain some experience. At the time he was expected to join Chelsea but the issues surrounding his ownership was a mess, to say the least. Bordeaux worked hard to untangle matters and persuaded the player to sign a permanent deal which ended a very ugly third party ownership deal with multiple parties involved in January 2016 (to explain - Corinthians were entitled to 30% of Malcom's transfer fee, while his agent Fernando Garcia held 35% of the economic rights. The rest was divided between Nílson Moura, who had 15%, and Guilherme Miranda and Thiago Ferro, with the other 20%). The head of scouting in France for Chelsea has continued to watch Malcom with scouts from Braga, Juventus, Porto, Liverpool, Southampton, Manchester United and I imagine others taking an interest and watching him play. Manchester United did speak to Bordeaux about the player in the summer but other wide players were preferred by the club - and I suspect that is still the case so the might return again.}

Thanks for the in-depth response Ed. So pretty much every club going wants this kid.

Cheers again mate.

{Ed002's Note - There has been plenty of interest.}

Eds, there seems to be loads of names getting thrown into the ring as it's SA's first transfer window but do have the low down on any players we are actually interested in? The noises coming from SA is he has 5 first teamers coming back from injury then we will have a strong 30 man squad. Not buying signals to me.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - The club are looking at trying to get a deal for Theo Walcott (F) - he is wanted by Sam Allardyce and his time at Arsenal is drawing to a close as he is doing no more than stagnating now, so it makes sense. Whether it will to him or not I don't know. Richmond Boakye (S) is a player Walsh is keen on and I assume he would have discussed him with SA by now - so an approach is not out of the question. Hirving Lozano (S) is certainly of interest. Ezri Konsa (CB) is a youngster who thinks he can walk in to any EPL first team - we will see if Everton maintain that interest or if SA would prefer a more humble addition. Everton will be looking for a new left back and if they want a slight risk then I expect Luke Shaw will be available. Steve Walsh had sent a scout to watch Marcel Halstenberg but it is hard to see him being available in January nor being interested in a move to a club without Champions League prospects. Sam Allardyce will no doubt have some ideas as well.}

Any eds know if we're in for Cenk Tosun?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Koeman was keen - I don't know if Allardyce is. Cenk Tosun agred a move to Crystal Palace but a payment plan is still to be agreed. Newcastle are also keen.}

ok hope we're in for him looks like a real threat.

Hi ed mate any truth in the rumours about soumaoro for Lille. Haven't heard much about him but sounds like he can play across the back 4. Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't know Joe. Certainly Lille have made Adama Soumaoro available and certainly West Ham, Monaco and Sevilla have looked at him whilst Dortmund enquired after a price as they cannot get their first choice. He will move in January but any club looking to exploit Lille's financial issues will be immediately turned away. What makes some sense in respect of any Everton interest is that is that Soumaoro was of interest Sunderland when SA was manager a couple of years back. So maybe but I can't be sure.}

Eds - two players we've been linked to in the past and wondering if we have shown any interest in January moves for them:

Kevin Gameiro - it seems clear we are looking for a striker and he hasn't had much game time this season.

Daley Blind - contract running out at the end of the season and would strengthen LB and LCB positions.

Any interest shown in either of these?

Thanks!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Kevin Gameiro is seen by Valencia as an alternative to Sandro Ramrez. He is also seen as an option by Newcastle. If Everton are interested he would likely be third choice after Hirving Lozano and Richmond Boakye, but there is every chance he will move when Diego Costa arrives. Daley Blind was of interest to Koeman but the player had no interest in Everton so I would not expect anything to happen there.}

Thanks Ed - much appreciated.

Interesting to hear about Lozano - have we shown an interest in him?

Also I thought he was playing as a winger for PSV - are we interested in him as a main striker?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Everton have enquired after Lozano and he can play in pretty much anuy forward position.}

19 Dec 2017 16:13:26
Never heard of them before ed. Are they highly rated how old are they and would the consider a team like us at the minute?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Lozano is young (22 or 23) and having a very good season. Arsenal are keen on him as well.

Boakye is about 25 and scoring at about a goal a game for Red Star. Marseille have spoken with his club and Newcastle have an interest although it is Rennes that have put an offer on the table. he has made clear his desire to play for Chelsea. Howevr, he has only really turned it on gol wise this season and there is always a risk in taking a raw talent and asking him to step up.}

Agree ed on player who hasn’t had prem experience is a risk even more so with our lovely weather up north 🙈. But we are in need of striker who knows where the net is. So we will be taking risks. We took on on Sandro and it hasn’t worked out for whatever reason but at £5mil it was an easy risk for the club to take. I can se eus going for benteke if the price is £30mil and I hope we do not sign a number 10 as I want to see Dowell in thisnpositins next year.

Ed - I've read some reports linking us to Stefan de Vrij from Lazio. His contract is coming to an end this summer and would be an excellent signing to shore up our defence.

Have we shown any interest in him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. Liverpool enqure but discussions are in hand with Inter right now.}

Heard a rumour at the match last night that Niasse stormed out when he found out he wasn't starting, hence why Sandro was on the bench.

On a more positive note, Lennon, Kenny and Gana played very well last night. You can see why the side hasn't changed much over the past few PL games. For me, Schneiderlin and Martina were the weak links.

Wow would be shocked if that was the case with Niasse he’s conducted himself impeccably during a long stressful time so would be a little crazy to suddenly throw his toys out the Pham 😳.

This isn't an "Told you so" post. But i am just made up Sig is starting to pick games up by the scruff of the neck.

There was a lot of fans slagging him at the start of the season, saying he was no good.

The lad didn't have a pre season, effectively, it has ended around the Southampton game (coincidentally when his form went up) .

The lad is class, doesn't matter which club he plays for, that guy is a footballer. His technical ability is up there with the best in the league and to it, he grafts his bollocks off. His fitness is now up there, he covered the most ground in the league last year.

I am just buzzing he is now performing like i knew he always would.

Up the blues!
