I can imagine that some transfers drag out to the end - or only arise at the end - of the window because sellers/ buyers want the best deals and are waiting to see who blinks first.
That and other deals in the chain may have to be in place.
Or it's last-minute panic buys.
Whatever the reason, Everton must NOT leave any January incoming transfers until the very end of the window.
We need cover for Gana and Bolasie from the start of January at the very least.
Money's no longer an issue - financial fair play notwithstanding - so although we'd like to negotiate good value, we have to stump up or forget about getting the right quality.
I want he deals in place now and those deals officially completed at the start of January.
Anyone really believe that will happen - or will Everton drag its heels as in the past?

{Ed002's Note - January is a difficult time to do business as clubs don't want to sell and those players involved in Europe don't want to move. However, this January is going to see a number of the "leading" European clubs doing some significant business. It is fair to say that Everton will eb looking at making changes in January but they may not be able to bring in teh players they want and common sense dfictates waiting until the summer rather than buying for the sake of it. Certainly they have declared an interest in a number of players but that itself generally means little. So right now it is a little bit of a lottery and with the recent ins and outs on the scouting front there may yet be a change of direction.}

{Ed002's Note - The Everton Sharkopod is done and will soon be posted by Ed033 for you.}

Thanks Ed.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome. I will do an update ST when things start taking shape - which may be late December or even in to January. I am travelling for a while now so need to prioritise some other Sharkopods first - then we will start looping around and pick up on updates - but only if you are all good and have credit cards available - I appreciate you are from Liverpool so it doesn't need to be your own credit card. We will have some Christmas gifts, standard stuff - #WonderDogSparky tee shirts, small bags of hair clippings from the soles of Ed007's feet packaged with some Rizlas, signed Ed025 photgraphs (landscape format) and my Anger Management video (Betamax).}

Hi Ed just my opinion, but I think we are going to see some big name incomings in the January window, R K has seen enough by now to see that some if not most of the current squad simply are not good enough and by the end of the summer window our squad will be virtualy unrecognisable from now, GuernseyBlue.

Hopefully not more wingers. We are so one dimensional every team has sussed us out. We need some ball players in the center of the park so we can mix it up a bit.

at 63 Carmine Street.}

I'd second that Al, the Everton Supporters Club NYC go there. A friend of mine went to NYC the same as you and looked on the internet for the best place to watch Everton while he was there. He ended up in Mr Dennehey's, had a great time, made some friends for life and even got offered a job. I'm jealous of you, have a great time and fingers crossed for 3 points.

Xeka I know sweet f a about is he any good?
Belotti. ed002 educated me yesterday and he mentions a really high release clause so don't think that's going to happen.
Now baselli. baselli would be good. Very creative good centre mid who can score a goal plus he's good at dead balls as well

The German two are sule and rude. Tudy is a hArd working centre mid and a current German international.
Sule is a soddING monster 6ft 5 centreback only young and already capped by the Germans.

Also linked with commando ( please get him. brilliant cm ) and strootman.

Get the cheque book ready farhad.

{Ed002's Note - He doesn't have a release clause and if he did it would be on no relevance to Everton. He has a termination clause which is a whole different matter.}

Sorry ed002 I thought they where the samething.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They are not, so let me explain for all. This is a horribly complex area not least because they are written under individual national laws.

The "buy out" clause is legally binding between a club and a player. The "buy out" is effectively what it says - a means for the player to buy himself out of the contract. As an example, if a player wishes to buy himself out of a contract, he pays the applicable FA (on behalf of teh club) the amount of the "buy out" clause effectively becoming a free agent. The problem is that in most cases a player would need to obtain that money from the buying club - and this is fraught with issues regarding "tapping up" and, of course, taxation as it can be seen as income for the player and would therefore be subject to income tax. There was a test case about the taxation issue in Spain about three years ago. So "buy out" clauses are very rare.

A "release clause" is far more common in that it gives a figure that the club would accept for the sale of a player to another club - but it is not legally binding except where both parties are in the same country (for the sake of argument I should say that Spain and Portugal count as the same country as do England and Wales) for legal purposes. These are normally unreasonably high figures (Messi at Barcelona for example) introduced to act as a deterrent for hostile bids - and even then the club could easily block a move. However, if a club does agree to match a release clause then the selling club would be obliged to ask the player if he is interested - there is no obligation on the player to make a move. For interested clubs outside of the country the selling club may use it as a guide but are under obligation to accept a bid.

There is then the becoming popular "termination clause" which is binding between the player and the club and if met would see an offer from anywhere accepted and the player given the opportunity to make a call on a move. This overcomes the issues associated with "buy out" clauses as the money would be paid by one club to another.}

Great piece of insight there Ed. I can imagine some in the press need this education but then I suspect they still wouldn't make accurate reports 🤔.
