just read a report by a chilean jerno saying that everton is a more likley destination for pelligrine. he said clubs from urope want him but he has said he loves the prem and living in england and wants to stay in the prem. the report says only arsenel and everton are the only likely clubs to appoint him and its no means certain that wenger will leave arsenel which just leaves everton.

Well I have been watching Everton since I was six years old and I am now 76. I can't remember an Everton team capitulating as easily as the one yesterday. My Dad is buried in Walton Park Cemetery and must be turning in his grave at this one.
As far as I can see with my limited managerial experience our midfield is made up of defensive players with limited attacking ideas so Martinez team relies on the backs to get forward which they are not doing well enough and consequently we play too far deep and encourage the opposition to attack which they did yesterday.
Maybe Ed002 could help in identifying some good young attacking midfielders who we could get in the summer.

{Ed002'Shakhtar Donetsk's Bernard and Anderlecht's Dennis Praet have been looked at. Tore has also been looked at but I don't see a move to EFC as likely Mike. Lewis Cook is a nother midfield plyer the club has been showing an interest in.}

Thanks Ed,
Mike.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome Mike.}

Not wishing to presume Ed002 but you seem to have a very good grasp/ knowledge of what is happening not only at Everton but the Premiership in general. Can you give us a cheeky hint if any decision has been made or pending on our illustrious Leader of Brown Shoes fame.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't expect anything will happen before the summer when the club will sit down and consider the way forward.}

ed 02 who are realistic for Everton of cause we all dream over Jose mourinho but no not gone happen. emery is one I want or billic but that won't happen now either.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - oyes is realistic. It may be possible to persuade Favre. who would be a great choice - a well respected manager and a really nice guy. Right now I don't know what his plans are but I do know that he has turned down two opportunities, one in the EPL. Whether he will be interested in a job in the summer or not is yet to be seen. Paul Clement would be another who would be a very good choice in my view. He is a very good coach and again a nice guy. Mancini might just be an option. Aside from that you need to search what I said before.}

21 Apr 2016 13:45:37
OO2 glad your not chairman you have a bad choice in managers, I bet you liked Martinez ha ha. Paul Clement could not manage in the championship and not a good coach at Real in my view.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Clement is an extremely ggod coach.

21 Apr 2016 13:52:10
Odds have now fallen to 8/ 1 for Mourinho. They were at 50/ 1 6 weeks ago 😳 Moyes also drifting out. Personally I'd like to see De Boer or Laudrup.

Sometimes people don't fit in places does not mean Clement is not a good coach! Seemed to do well coaching at Chelsea PSG and Real! And Ed002 is only passing on what he has heard not saying it's who he wants!
Whoever gets installed as Manager both them and the team need the support of the fans!
I was disappointed with the appointment of Martinez but backed the team and they did alright in his first season but I now feel that was due to them still having some of Moyes's defensive training in their heads! Unfortunately it seems Martinez has slowly deconstructed that from them to what they are now!

21 Apr 2016 18:26:57
I would have Moyes back in a heartbeat. I do not buy in to this treachery name calling. He may well have come back for our players but at that time he was Manager of his new Club, doesn't everyone who has a job do the best they can and isn't that all Moyes was doing. As others have said some Managers are a good fit for a Club and Moyes is ours.

21 Apr 2016 18:41:53
Having said that above, it would not surprise me if Martinez is still here next season. Like others I have supported this Club for over 50 years and like others I give a big thanks to Bill for saving this great Club but on Roberto I am sorry Bill you have to act.

{Ed025's Note - im with you 1878..

21 Apr 2016 17:43:42
Ed really not shore about Clement he didn't cut it at derby so why would he at everton I do think he is an excellent coach but good coaches don't exactly make good managers but could see him as number 2 if new manager comes in what u think.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would doubt it duke.}

22 Apr 2016 06:17:19
Clement was on course for getting Derby promoted in his first season. That somehow didn't fit in with the club's long term plan. They felt it was too soon and the team wouldn't be ready for the premier league. Clement insisted on trying to win games and was sacked. Bizarre stance by the club in my view. Clement is a brilliant coach who has worked at three different world-class clubs with one of the best managers ever, Ancelotti, and some of the best players on the planet, all of whom speak very highly of him. He has coached teams who have won titles. Far from not being very good at Real Madrid, he was coach when they won the champions league! How is he not good enough? Mourinho was in exactly the same situation as Clement when Porto appointed him and they went on to win the champions league. And some would prefer Eddie Howe. Clement would be a great appointment but with Carlo in a job again next season, he may be off to Bayern?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you really believe that was why Clement was sacked? There was a lot more to that than him trying to win games. There was the truly awful football he played, the lack of player unity and team work while he was there, the amount of new signings he wanted and a number of other things. But it was mostly about how crap they played. He is a coach who was in over his head. Exactly like Booby M.}

22 Apr 2016 15:16:59
Fair enough Ed. No doubt you know more than I do about that story, but Ed002 rates him as a coach, Ancelotti took him wherever he went and he's worked with Hiddink, Zidane, Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema, James, Ramos, Casillas, Ibrahimovic, Lavezzi, This to Silva, all of whom seemed to work well with him? The guy has a CV.

Seriously hope not he can't do nothing with all the money in the world. He can't motivate his team.

Pellegrini a complete inder achiever at Man City cannot motivate players a bad choice.

21 Apr 2016 13:15:41
Love to believe it. this is not personal, it is just that as a Premiership Manager or as our Manager, Roberto Martinez is just not up to it.

21 Apr 2016 12:51:32
Hmmm, League Cup winners, top 4 contenders and into Semi final of Champs League.
Yer rubbish him!

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Pellegrini.}

21 Apr 2016 13:29:21
Likewise Laurent Blanc, ed? Aiming a bit too high there?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Laurent Blanc won't be moving to Everton.}

21 Apr 2016 13:47:12
Confession, I have just checked the whole cv of Pellegrini and he is more suited to Everton than Man City, yes would be a good choice if we could get him.

21 Apr 2016 15:06:36
I'm sorry how can pellegrini not motivate his players. Knowing full well that he is being replaced at the end of the season his players still show 100x the passion and drive than our players! Would be a dream manager for me. Hope this one is true.

21 Apr 2016 17:48:16
He has all the money in the world and can't win fa cup league, champs league. If company don't play he don't win.
Look at there team and where they are.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2016 21:21:56
. pellegrini is a top manager. he's proved it in the top leagues around Europe. to be fair, De Boer has only done it in a very poor Dutch league so he is more of a risk for me!

Any chance he will be sacked ed?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - hopefully yes dan...realistically..no im afraid mate..

21 Apr 2016 06:39:33
Yes Martinez picked the team. But can you honestly say it was his fault last night. It was the players last night I'm afraid to say.
And you know respect to Martinez for actually coming out and saying so. His words "embarrassing" totally agree with him there.

Agree2 Disagree6

21 Apr 2016 08:16:31
Did u not watch the game, players got no clue, no midfield following on from breaking. We break then go backwards, that comes from manager tactics and training. So ye it's his fault very much.

Agree6 Disagree1

21 Apr 2016 09:54:31
The players cannot be held responsible for bad coaching it is 100%down to Martinez, he should be gone by now. I am very disappointed in Moshiri.

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Apr 2016 10:35:22
Bobby should be held responsible and should be sacked but Bill isn't going to sack him he just wants a yes man as for the players they r guttless lack any pride in wearing the blue jersey and they clearly don't have any respect for the manager. The only bit of passion was shown by a 17 year old lad Davies against Southampton he closed people down and actually made tackles which can't be said for rest of the everton team in Davies 7 minutes against Southampton he done more than the rest of team have in the last 5 or 6 games as for Rom don't think he has come back from international duty.

Mowfee82, finally, one of the more sensible posts I have seen here in a while. How the players are getting away with not getting any of the blame for this poor season is beyond me!
Best team in 20 years, think Carragher was right when he said they are not as good as we think they are.
