HI eds read today that the laks agent is doing a u turn and has basically saying he could stay. But it's on the express website that were in talks with arsenal for his transfer for a rather derogatory 31million.
Is this pa per site or are we going to have another long and drawn out transfer saga.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't see anything happening in the short term.}

22 Jun 2016 12:04:24
We paid £28m and he's consistently broke the 20goals a season mark whilst he's been with us. I doubt £31m would garner any sort of positive response from Everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There has been no such offer.}

21 Jun 2016 15:14:22
Ed02 any truth in 10.2mill bid Dribil Sidbie!
An Porto striker in for talks soon.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Monaco, Roma and PSG are looking to Lille's Djibril Sidibe for the summer. Interest from Watford, Sunderland and Schalke has been rebuffed by the player. His agent has pushed Arsenal as a possible destination. Everton and West Ham watched the player - but it would have been under Martinez that tehre was everton interest. I am not aware of a bid from Everton but if they are maintaining interest in Martinez' targets he was certain a player looked at.}

Hearung rumors of aboubakar? You heard anything ed?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - hes just another name on the ever growing list cropper, because we have a decent war chest every man and his dog seem to be linked to us mate..

21 Jun 2016 13:42:49
That Football Whispers site sees us linked with Juan Mata, and make us 5/ 2 favourites to sign him surely not. Would love him as think he's a quality player is there any substance to this Ed.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - not that you would call substantial BA, but to be honest im not his biggest fan, he does have quality but produces it when the mood suits him for me mate..

21 Jun 2016 10:28:11
Ed, what do you think the chances are of us keeping hold of Lukaku? And would you want him to stay after all his outbursts? I just can't make my mind up on the situation.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - I expect he will go but Everton will need to be realistic about the asking price.}

21 Jun 2016 10:41:19
I think the board should say, £60 million. Put up or shut up. Lukaku should be fined for any future outbursts and explain that he is still under contract and it will be EFC ( his employers ) that will decide on player transfers.

Agree1 Disagree7

{Ed002's Note - That really isn't how it works. If a player wants to move on it does no good whatsoever to block any move or act in what would be a particular;y stupid manner as you suggest.}

21 Jun 2016 10:47:39
Looks and sounds a bit different now Ed since his manager has come out with his latest statement, like you said though players hold the power and not worth keeping someone who does not want to be here, Id love him to stay and actually think it could happen now but we will know soon enough.

To be honest I want Rom sold there is no loyalty in football and he has his agent in his ear telling him he needs to move remember he is one player Everton will replace him and we will move on end off.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Jun 2016 12:32:43
Do the latest comments from his agent as reported in Liverpool Echo mean he is back tracking and willing to now stay?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2016 12:46:09
Agree completely Ed, no point holding onto someone who is not fully committed. For me the ideal situation would be to keep him for another year as I don't think he's quite ready to lead the line at a top team yet.

Interested to hear Ed, what do you think is a realistic asking price for Lukaku (i. e. in your knowledge roughly how much will clubs likely be willing to pay) ? And in your knowledge how does the club's valuation stack up against that?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I suspect something in the order of £40M or so ST. It would help if there were a couple of clubs pushing and if he could excel for the balance of the Euros.}

21 Jun 2016 14:44:27
Thursday's vote could have a dramatic impact on his value; the pound is very volatile at the moment and a dramatic rise or fall in its value is highly likely. This would result in foreign clubs either seeing £40m as relatively cheap or extortionate. English clubs, of course, will be unaffected. This, however, should not be in anyway one's main reason to vote remain or leave.

I would hate us to take 40mil for Rom as i think in a couple of years he could be worth so much more, but at present time it does sound a realistic price given his mixed form.
It is a profit on him though and he certainly helped us out with his goals so in the overall picture he was a great signing for the club.
As I've mentioned before though, could we replace him with anyone better? I think we should go all out for Breel Embolo, he reminds me so much of Rom, young strong and confident. With a little patience and development i think he'll be a real star.

Thanks Ed.

There has been paper talk today linking us with Vincent Aboubakar of Porto - is there any truth in this to your knowledge?

And would this, or any 'bigger money' signing, be reliant on selling Lukaku?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Aboubakar would be an odd choice but possible option for Everton and would be more likely a Naisse replacement. He was of interest to Leicester and Montpelier but both are put off by messy ownership and cost issues. Certainly the interest of both of those clubs has moved on.}

21 Jun 2016 14:00:55
Ed 40 mil seems a little on the low side to me last summer in the papers they reported that we turned down between 36 and 38 million bids for stones so by your thinking he is only worth 2 to 4 mil more than what was bid for stones last year which is curious considering goalscorer are harder to get than defenders and tend to cost more as well so ed if u think Rom will probably go for 40mil if stones leaves this summer how much would think he would go for because r valuation for stones was around the 40mil region.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Firstly the bids for Stones were nothing like that amount, secondly I am not sure why you think the value of Stones last year is of any relevance at all to the value of Lukaku this year. I am not entirely sure why you are complicating a simple discussion about a striker.}

21 Jun 2016 14:29:06
Just on your last comment ed about being realistic. you say 40 Mil is realistic but how can this be so low when troy deeney is being banded around for 30 Mil (not an international and in my opinion nowhere near as good as rom)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea why you think the value of of Troy Deeney is of any relevance in this matter.}

21 Jun 2016 15:04:39
Thanks Ed. Do we hold an interest in Aboubakar or is this more paper rubbish?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Please see a separate answser ST.}

We're in a position to demand whatever price we like for Lukaku. Gone are the days of Kenwright having to put on a theatrical "they're stealing our boy" to the cameras. Lukaku does himself no favours by acting up should a bid be rejected. Similar to the situation with Liverpool and Suarez; he'll have to put up with what happens until a buying club comes in with an acceptable offer.

He's already complained to the press that his price tag is too high. His agent has now come out and said that money is no longer an issue for Everton. There's a lot of backtracking coming from Raiola which is very uncharacteristic of the man. It appears as though they realise they've overplayed their hand.

Moshiri and the directors/ management team that he's bringing in know the extent of their power and have been ruthless when it comes to Lukaku.

Obviously ed. he plays in same position in the same league so we can make comparison. Kind of like comparing prices of coffee in supermarkets. Deeney is more like own brand compared to lukaku nescafe in terms of quality so should cost more to purchase, in theory I suppose

Whatever happens the prices banded around, accurate or not, are stupid. The cost of a top player can run a small country for a bit.

21 Jun 2016 19:13:11
Strange Ed how you say keeping a player that wants away is stupid behaviour when that's exactly what happened with Stones. Furthermore the action Dixie normus? suggested has been taken by several clubs in the past when dealing with wantaway stars!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Did Stones have a stellar season? And sure, if Everton want to follow down the path of others that is just fine - just what the club needs - players who want to be elsewhere.}

21 Jun 2016 01:28:49
Reports saying leicester will pay £30 mill for Deeney surely the world has gone mad, if Deene is £30 mill then there are a lot of players who's value has just sky rocketed.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

21 Jun 2016 03:03:34
Well he's English, a proven goal scorer and factor in the inflated prices because of the TV money in the league I'd say that's the going rate (if not a tad on the up side)

Agree0 Disagree5

21 Jun 2016 16:49:36
£30m for an uncapped player with one season in the Premiership? Makes Lukaku's £60m tag look like a Wilko bargain.

We are bringing players in to play with rom rather than than let him do the work on his own. two strikers next few days and cm done.
