ED DO YOU THINK THAT A HAMSTRING INJURY IS TAKING AS LONG TO HEAL AS JIMMY McCARTHYS I HEARD A RUMOUR HE WANTS OUT AND IS USING THE INJURY AS A GET OUT CLAUSE YOU HEARD ANYTHING SIMILAR IT SEEMS A LOT OF THE PLAYERS ARE OF THE SAMD ILK AND DO NOT WANT TO PLAY THE MARTINEZ WAY what's YOUR THOUGHTS

Believable7 Unbelievable4

{Ed025's Note - i dont think james is that type of guy al, but i do believe that a lot are not happy with the martinez ethos, but whatever comes or goes the players have to start performing, being relegated will affect all of them not just the club mate..

23 Jan 2015 01:08:56
Why would mccarthy not like working with him? He ws with him at wigan, so should know what he works like,, his injury is taking a bit long to heal though

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd be amazed if McCarthy would entertain any notion of leaving Everton in this window but don't be surprised if he does move on in the summer.}

ETO'O LATEST

Developments now on Samuel Eto'o's imminent move from Everton to Sampdoria now, and Sky Italia confirm the deal has hit a snag with the Premier League side demanding additional funds to let the striker leave.
The Serie A side are confident the striker will make the move having agreed personal terms but both clubs will now have to agree on a revised fee.
However, New York Cosmos' late interest complicates matters.
Also the Dog and Partridge FC have enquired as to the players availability as it seems he wants to be anywhere but Everton! speaking to the janitor at Goodison park, who seems to have been left in charge, stating he doesn't give a toss either way!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - good stuff wakka..

22 Jan 2015 18:09:24
Anyone else think Sampdoria have acted appallingly throughout all this? Calling everton for everything yet no one knows what's happening behind the scenes. We've just not made anything public. Surely what they've done has got to be classed as tapping up?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - or telling the truth tron..

22 Jan 2015 20:02:24
I believe he was set to sign, but then Mirallas ran in and took his pen.

{Ed025's Note - nice one al..

Blue Al: Aarff-Aarff!

talk of 20 mil bid plus kaboul and lennon for mccarthy would u take it

Believable1 Unbelievable8

{Ed025's Note - im not over keen on any of them to be honest bretto....show me the money!..

22 Jan 2015 16:55:10
I wouldn't want Younes Kaboul anywhere near our club. Aaron Lennon might offer more to our squad, but he's clearly also not good enough for Tottenham, so why would he be good enough for us?
Whatever there might be to these transfer speculations, I just don't see how letting our better players go and replacing them with rejects and journeymen is anything but a recipe for mediocrity and failure.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - our chef has already got the ingredients for that sid..

22 Jan 2015 18:19:29
I agree kaboul isn't up to scratch but I think lennon could be a good signing. I would say he's always been better than downing and look at the way he's performing all of a sudden

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes a bit lightweight for me kingy, i think he has ability, and is probably not so much of a prat as kevin mirallas, but nowhere nearly as much ability..

22 Jan 2015 19:47:23
I agree about ability but I think he could be just as effective. He likes to attack and get at the back 4. Can't remember the last time I witnessed us do that. And let's be honest he's an inprovement on mcgeady/Atsu/pienar ect

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair comment kingy..

22 Jan 2015 20:46:49
Lennon might like to attack and run at defenders but Bobby will soon get that out of him (if he should sign)

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2015 22:18:41
Haha you've got a point there

23 Jan 2015 09:42:13
No don't want spurs dead wood!
20m plus harry kane i'd think about it.
I don't Mccarthy going anywhere tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Harry Kane has done well - and seems like someone who will make it - but let's see how he does over the next few seasons before he can really be acclaimed as an established proven Premier League star. We've had too many of our own - Barkley and Rodwell to name but two - who've not (yet?) truly realised their promise & potential after being heralded as wonder-kids.

Lennon might like to run at defenders but his final ball is woeful. Living down SOuth, I'm surrounded by Spuds fans, all of whom think it's great Lennon could be on the move. That speaks volumes.

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero says the signing of striker Samuel Eto'o, 33, is being held up because "nobody can figure out who is in charge at Everton". (Sky Sport Italia)

Why doesn't this surprise me

22 Jan 2015 16:57:22
How can anyone be surprised by what's happening (or not happening as the case maybe!) at our club these days?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have to say i am sid..after last season i thought we were on the right track mate, but it seems it was a false dawn..

Ed025: Last season, we must have been playing in the polar summer - 24 hours of daylight - and this season we've entered the Polar winter - 24/7 darkness.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - last season i was walking around like a proud pigeon sid, chest out and a permanent smile on my face, the grief i gave my red supporting mates was unmerciful, good times indeed...today the chest is deflated and the smile but a distant memory, im avoiding my mates like the plague for fear of retribution....sad times indeed mate.. :(

Ed025: Last season feels like a cruel joke on us - lulling us by frequent exhilarating football and some excellent results into mistakenly anticipating an imminent & long-hoped-for trophy-winning success. This season is when the joke is fully realised - and the punchline is the disaster of relegation.
Champions League? We were having a laugh.
Championship? We'll be having it tough.

. if we lose our next 2 games away to Palace & home to the redrubbish Bobby will definitely be sacked!

Believable2 Unbelievable8

{Ed025's Note - i would not bank on that zacki, no one above bobby has expressed any concern over the situation mate, maybe they think all is fine?..

22 Jan 2015 11:57:23
Ed025: you're probably right - BK will no doubt batten down the hatches, ride out the storm of discontent, and expect RM to kick-on next season. If that happens, and RM does prove successful, then I'll willingly eat a double-helping of humble pie with a large side-order of humility and a foaming flagon of the beer I've been crying into this season!
However, like so many former RM-backers, I no longer have optimism about what he'll achieve at Everton. There's only so far imho that him putting square pegs in round holes AND forcing formations/tactics on players who aren't comfortable with them AND waiting for the right players (at the right price) or youngsters to develop in order to play his way before it all ends in tears.
Unless RM swallows his pride (prejudices) and realises what would bring success for Everton as we stand at the moment, then he's not the right man to take Everton forward. Thinking about what RM is attempting with our current squad, I paraphrase an old saying: you can put a pig in a fur coat, but it's still a pig.
Maybe we will end up with a squad of players that have the ability - and self-belief - to deliver the beautiful game, but we sure ain't there at the moment.
:-(

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - another thing that is very worrying is all these pundits and has been players saying everton are too good to go down, i remember them saying the same about forest and leeds!..there is no such thing as too good to go down..

22 Jan 2015 13:09:10
The league position never lies!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2015 15:47:37
Well judging by the fact we havn't won any silverware or achieved nothing in 26 years this would maybe indicate the way we do things as a club isn't the correct way.any other club would of sacked their manager by now as our league position & performances are simply not acceptable for a club of our size. the job is clearly too big for Bobby & he needs to be replaced ASAP!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2015 16:47:17
I think the main question here is. can we afford to sack him, AND get another top manager in??

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - can we afford not to dixie?..

22 Jan 2015 08:24:47
Apparently we are tryna bring dzecko on loan, but he would prefer a move back to Germany .

Been hearing quite a bit over the last few days with regards to Garbutt. Anyone know if he has signed a deal with that lot over the park?
