. Someone told me this morning that plans are in place to sack Martinez at the end of the season if our league position doesn't improve dramatically between now and then! App. The board at efc are already making arrangements in the event of this situation arising - is this true Ed? Have you heard anything on this or is it a load of tosh?!?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i have heard nothing of this zacki, of course like any manager he will be judged on results, and although its just speculation at the moment the board will not be happy unless we improve our league standing mate..

If it does happen in the summer I would hope we would take a punt on Eddie Howe young decent manager and seems to talk sense in his interviews. The only problem I see with Martinez going is a lot of the who have come in have come because of him he's seems to attract young players who want to improve and make a name for themselves. I've also been told that Ross has said he definatley be here as long as Martinez stays.

I see improvement with the team - its becoming entertaining with a lot of quality, however the results have been stomach churning and have ruined many a weekend this season.
Some great young players have signed for the youth team, there is a deliberate scheme to buy reasonably priced but promising players . I think Martinez deserves time, I just hope I’m still alive when the fruits of these endevours bring some success, like I witnessed in the 80’s under Howard and General Reid.

Seriously you heard this. The board would not let this out. Honestly the things people say I know it's a rumour and banter but somethings don't leave the board room.

Us hardcore fans know we are not a sacking club and this will not happen. RM frailty is plain for all to see but we are playing the best attacking football we have in years but RM game management is shocking. I'm not a fan of him but it's what we've got and think he will sort it eventually. Will he be given time to do that I'm not sure but one things for sure he won't be sacked any time soon that's for sure Coyb.

the suggestion of taking a punt on an upcoming young manager like Eddie Howe is exactly the same as us employing Roberto!
Wouldn't it just be deja vu remember he failed at a bigger club at the time when he went to Burnley.

I think it's a bit harsh to say that Eddie Howe "failed" at Burnley. I read that he wanted to return south for personal/ family reasons. If those reasons still exist, then I wonder if he'd consider coming back north - even if it was to Everton that (with all due respect) is a far bigger club than Burnley.

Return south or what it's quitting what happens when it doesn't go his way here! Promising manager but signs of weakness already he would never survive at Everton!

Someone told me this morning they had a threesome with Katy Perry and Jessica Alba. Doesn't mean it's true, though more likely than us sacking Martinez.

{Ed007's Note - I told you that in confidence!}

I like Eddie Howe but we need to be aiming a bit higher than that. Still think we missed a trick by not getting Bilic in. Mark Hughes would be a better shout. Or karanka.

Eddy - Barkley would say that because he wouldn't get a game under anyone else at the moment. He's been awful.

{Ed025's Note - im with you wrighty..

Maybe Hiddink could be the answer, used to managing at top level, ad yet again he's digging Chelsea out of the mire! will be available in the summer.

I know Bill Kenright is unwell, so it would be considered bad form to start banging the table and demanding answers, in relation to the takeover.
However, it is surley reasonable for the club to give at least some indication of the progress, or otherwise of the talkes. PS, at least one of the eds, must have heard something, posative or otherwise?

{Ed025's Note - your right that the club should be more transparent JCW, but the findings by any prospective buyer will be top secret and even if they have walked away it does not mean the deal is dead, sometimes its part of the process to declare that parties are not interested to see if the price can be negotiated mate..

22 Jan 2016 15:13:55
I'm pretty sure when parties engage in 'due diligence' neither is allowed to comment on the process [financial guidelines].
