martinez to move for chantome from psg

Believable12 Unbelievable15

I know he's a CM but does anyone know anymore about him? Like could he cover for Gibson? felliani? Behind the striker?
Quinny

Agree0 Disagree0

How good is he

Agree0 Disagree1

I've heard he is good, and if we are going for him, we can kiss Felli goodbye

We definitely need another midfielder. He sounds useful. Get him in!

Agree0 Disagree0

He's good but sure expensive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Had the best passing stats in the French league last season

Agree1 Disagree0

He's an excellent central midfield Player. Despite not playing much last season, he averaged 92% pass completion even though he passed far more frequently than any of our players. The only person with a higher completion in France was Alex, his teams centre back, who you can assume was far less adventurous with his passing.

As a replacement for Fellaini, he wouldn't work. If fellaini goes, we will need a hard tackling and industrious defensive mid, which he isn't, but if fellaini stays, the two could form a formidable partnership with him providing the guile and skill for the two while fellaini performs the less fashionable aspect

That said, he isn't a Player we need. He is very similar in style to Gibson, our most underrated player, who works with fellaini well. If fellaini were to go, him and Gibson would be too defensively suspect. If fellaini where to stay, we would already have Gibson. We do not need Chantome.

Sinclair and Tom Ince are now the biggest targets after Moses was too much

Believable4 Unbelievable20

Once would cost just as much as Moses, Sinclair more. Likely

Agree0 Disagree0

Ince would cost 2m cheaper in my opinion and wages are a big big difference

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither would improve our squad. Don't think either will be in the mind of RM. We are looking at better players than this to move forward. Just my opinion.

Tom Ince looks like a goer and also the Honda rumours are creeping back in with Milan only wanting him for free

Believable11 Unbelievable15

Tom nice would cost the same as Moses

Agree0 Disagree1

Wouldn't he'd be slightly cheaper and also would cost less in wages, signing on fee and agent fee

Agree0 Disagree0

No he wouldn't, think we could get him for around 6 m

heard that nottingham forest looking to take lundstram on season long loan

Believable20 Unbelievable1

All for that youth players looking to be first team need to spend 12 months playing first team football should of done it with players that weren't getting a lookin Duffy, lundstram, vellios, and now people like Kennedy, stones maybe to early for green, but junior, long it's the only way they can progress making mistakes and learning from them let's be fair not all these mentioned will even make it at this level but when you reach 18, 19, 20 you got to be testing yourself and you don't get that in u21 level very few come along that are just too good to go out on loan likes of Rooney but how often do they come along 1 every 10 years

Agree1 Disagree0

Trouble is too many of these kids go out on loan and never come back e, g Bidwell

Jelavic being sold to add funds for a possible move for Mcarthy, although Hamburg may look for installments or a loan, I would prefer to keep the Jellyman. COYB

Believable12 Unbelievable18

I'd be bemused if we loaned him out. I think we need the cash upfront if we did sell.

I'd like him to stay but it looks like this may have some legs, and personally I think Martinez likes his forwards mobile, pacey and versatile so I wouldn't be surprised if we listened to offers.

At least a small profit on what we paid is a must if we do sell

TJ

Agree0 Disagree1

I would rather have Jelavic he'll bang them in again this season, if we need to raise money to buy any player Anichibe would go before Jelavic in my opinion. No way would I be forking out silly money for McCarthy from Wigan either!

Agree2 Disagree1

I really will lose faith if we get rid of Jelly, the lad had a poor season last year but in fairness moyes hardly give him any confidence, much the same as when we had the yak, he'd score a goal then get benched the following game in favour for Anichebe, now i'm not bashing anichebe at all but I think he was supposed to have been great last year in a lot of peoples eyes and score 6-7 league goals, jelly had an absolute mare and stil;l scored 7??

Agree0 Disagree0

So we go down to two strikers and buy a defensive midfielder. Don't think so.

Newcastle have expressed an interest in jelly, unless it's a very big offer, ( silly money ) I hope he stays, natural goal scourer who will come good under the new tactical approach.

Believable12 Unbelievable16

Totally agree with you mate. Moyes ruined him like he does with all centre forwars

Agree1 Disagree0

Id swap him for cisse myself he apparently wants out with the shirt sponsor debate

Agree1 Disagree0

He was defo ruined! he is lethal in the six yard box and was hardly in ther last season, closer to the corner flag!

Keep the faith and he will come good!

Agree1 Disagree1

I would imagine cisse would equally not like our shirt sponsor as its alcohol based. not a muslim myself but think its against there religion
Cheeks

Agree0 Disagree0

Those goalposts have never looked shinier after Jelavic used his scourer! Sorry, couldn't resist. :p

u are probably right but he could wear a chang soda shirt as the players did in a tour of asia one time

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like us to keep the Jellyman as I think he'll score goals this year as I don't think we'll be pushing Felli up alongside him like last year.
However, if Newcastle want him we should ask for Cisse as a replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope jelavic does do well for us next year, forgetting the fact he made useless runs the guy needs to learn the offside rule, that will give him half a chance

From a very good source! Moyes was on 8.5mil a year and rm has signed a 2.4m a year deal! So plenty of money ther for wages for signings!

Sorry mate no way was Moyes on 163k per week, he ain't no Mourinho that's for sure

I think he was probably on closer to 75k per week or 4 million a year

Moyes was on 3-3.5 million a year where do you get 8 million?
wellzee

Agree0 Disagree0

I think your info is inflated, Moyes was on less than half of that.

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

No wonder the players hated him. so tight too, he never bought a round of beer in the whole time he was at Goodison

Agree0 Disagree0

He was on 4mill a year.

he was on the same as our top earner about 75000 a week that works out about 3.5 million so who ever told you is WRONG

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2013 13:52:16
Moyes was on 75000 a week. he was the 4th highest earning manager in the league after Ferguson, mancini and Wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rite ok. i'm wrong! hold my hands up but I was actually shown the figures, so either they can't type or the people on here some how know he was defo on 3.5mil?

Blueblood

Agree0 Disagree0

£8.5m per year is around 200k a week, no chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have just again spoken to my source and he was on 8.5mil a year! Correction from my initial post, rm is only on 2.2mil a year. He was 2nd most highest earner in the league behind sir alex! Doesn't make a difference if people believe me or not as I can guarantee these figures are 100% .

Blue blood

Agree0 Disagree0

Their figures are almost certainly off. He's on around £5.6m at Utd but was on no more than £4m here. Probably closer to £3.5m, around £70,000 p/w.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyses was on about £4million per year -not £8.5m but still a saving compared with Martinez reported salary of less than £2.5m

Agree0 Disagree0

No way mate, sorry but your source is on the sauce! it was well reported that he was on 3.5mil a year. Not even Fergie was on 8, get a grip son! Blue Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok! Shame no one ever believes you on this when you actual know the facts! What would be the point of me posting complete bs if it wernt true! At the end of the day it don't matter if people believe or not as I was only stating the concrete facts

Blue blood

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute nonsense mate, not a prayer he was earnin g 200k a week!

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2013 10:03:46
Moyes was the highest paid person in the club. A respected journalist indicated he was earning £90K per week which works out at around 4. 7M per year. I would expect Martinez be be earning less than half of that wage. So we have made a large saving. All we need is to get Heitinga's £55K wages off the budget and then we can bring in another two or three players on the savings.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps the figures we get are what he actually earned, which would be like %50 of what we paid him.
or it's nonsense. But those numbers from the OP would make sense if it was before tax.
