Ed002 has said there is interest in ghezzal again so can't see us going for bailey.

24 Jan 2017 02:14:49
Think I would rather have Bailey, Ghezzal, good as he may be, already seems to think he is bigger than the club, the new management seem (and very rightly ) hot on attitude.

Reading that Hull are in for Bailey and others have been put off due to a messy transfer situation partly down to Genk owning 75% and the boys father seems to own the other 25% of his sons playing rights.
Sounds a right mess

Seeing reports linking us with a potential move for Heaton, any substance to this?
And if we are would we not be having a look at Begovic also if Chelsea find a replacement?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Burnley will not be looking to sell Tom Heaton this month.}

23 Jan 2017 17:30:55
Nothing wrong with Robles, he needs to keep him in the team, he's getting better as each game passes, he is catching the ball more, making crucial saves and the defence is certainly getting a better understanding.

For me he has wrongly been dropped twice this season and also by our previous manager, this guy deserves his chance for a run of games, let's hope Ronnie sticks by the guy and wait until summer to see how he does.

I think I may be a little unfair to Robles, but my opinion on him is that he's an exceptional number 2 but not quite a number 1.

Agree5 Disagree2

23 Jan 2017 17:44:58
I'd be happy with that but then I wouldn't say no to Begovic

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Jan 2017 17:14:22
Agree with Ed. With the form of Robles, is Heaton really that much better anyway. I do like Begovic.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jan 2017 19:17:59
We'll Robles will do for me he had a chance and he's taken it let's just hope he gets a run in the side we could do with a striker more than a keeper if Rom gets injured who's going to fill his boots

Agree8 Disagree1

23 Jan 2017 21:31:12
Robles has something ridiculous like 11 clean sheets in 22 starts I think, he deserves a chance, he's coming into his prime years as a keeper and has been understudy long enough, ad say he's on par with Heaton and better than begovic, begovic few years ago yea but he's sat on the bench for how long now doing nothing, Robles the answer for me like just my opinion but what do I no

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that johny..

24 Jan 2017 02:26:06
Robles, was a good shot stopper from the get go, but the improvment in his handeling, command of his area, and his reading of the game, seem to have come on leaps and bounds with the new goalkeeping coach.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2017 23:23:15
I think in the summer Heaton and Keane would be a good double purchase from Burnley.
Of course Robles might make the grade but we do need another centre back especially if we are going to play 3 at the back.

24 Jan 2017 20:19:04
For those of you who believe in stats, only De Gea is better than Robles on present form. The kind of performances that Robles has been putting in aren't because he's lucky, it's because he's capable of them. Couple that with the probability that he's better than Heaton and it would seem logical to keep Robles in the side and buy a No2.

HiEd I see Jose is saying Wayne can move and its down to him to decide when and if, i really think he would be a great benefit to the club he would be massive in helping our young lads and also a considerable help in our push for a top four, i know this subject has been talked over before but what do you reckon mate thanks, GuernseyBlue

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - It won't be this month GB but if Manchester United can make a change they want in the summer there will be an option for Everton to put a package together as they won't stand in his way if he wants to leave. I would ignore all thoughts about "helping young lads" as the way clubs are now structured that is not really going to be a consideration. Else perhaps the summer after. Much will depend on what other options he has.}

23 Jan 2017 13:44:19
Ed I haven't read anything yet but has Mourinho said Rooney won't be going anywhere this month or by him saying he won't stand in his way does that mean he is free to go whenever? I do remember RK saying a little while ago that if the possibility to sign Rooney arose it would definitely be something we would be interested in. I also seen Harry Redknapp has urged Rooney to come back to Everton not that anyone cares what he says haha

Keep up the good work by the way mate, love how informative you are.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what he has said but Rooney will not be leaving without a replacement and that won't be this month.}

23 Jan 2017 15:22:27
He actually said he would not stand in Wayne's way for a big money move to China. He did not say he would allow him to move to the team one place below them who are showing considerable ambition and must now be considered a competitor. Perhaps he would let us buy him. but I would think there would be a considerable fee? Probably dictated by the sort of money that would be offered by the Chinese. eg I cannot see them turning down a huge fee from China to allow him to move to us for free. This is of course assuming he is under contract and the Chinese are offering a fee? Any knowledge on that Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United will let Rooney leave once they have a replacement - which might be as early as this summer. Everton will have the option to make a proposal if they wish to do so.}

23 Jan 2017 16:06:37
Ed when you say Everton will have the option to make a proposal do you mean in the same as any other team would or that our sale of Rooney to Utd included some kind of clause or option?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There are no clauses or options in any contract like that?}

23 Jan 2017 16:31:04
Hi Ed thanks for the info, GuernseyBlue

23 Jan 2017 17:02:20
Thanks Ed. as long as his replacement is not Lukaku I don't care!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No, it isn't Lukaku.}

23 Jan 2017 18:09:45
Thanks Ed. I'm clearly just reading too much into your response there.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No problem CT.}

23 Jan 2017 19:07:59
Come on lads the Rooney boat has sailed. Look to the future not the past. It's getting like a guy who's gorgeous girlfriend dumped him years ago but the guys getting his hopes up again because she's put on a few stone, had a few kids, and been round the block (literally) . Let it go you'll feel better, honest!

Brian. seriously got to be the funniest post i have read in ages, well in mate.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jan 2017 19:30:43
Of course Utd will let him go he's on 300k a week and has 2.5 years left on his contract 😆. Moyes tried to shaft us with Fellini and himself by letting his contract run out and then the first thing he does at Utd is give Rooney a 5 year contract worth 300 k pw 😆😆. Fair play to Rooney he has them by the short and Curley's 😆.

Ed002, I have looked through your past comments on some "continental" players. and it looks like a waiting game. Do you know of any other lower league youngsters that we are watching? eg in the same level of Lookman type. promising with great potential?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Adam Webster but it now has to wait.}

23 Jan 2017 13:01:40
I am guessing because of his injury. which could also put the whole thing out of the window? Shame, because he looks a promising lad from Youtube clips.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, he is injured and it could be a major spanner in the works.}

23 Jan 2017 07:49:01
One of the papers reporting we after ivanovic as a replacement for jags. Why would we but a 32 year old to replace a 34 year old? Surely someone younger would be better?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

23 Jan 2017 08:45:21
Good player, can play right across the back, two years younger at this level is huge.

Agree1 Disagree2

23 Jan 2017 08:57:19
Know what you mean, I was against fonte coming for as large a fee as he went for at 33, but Ivanovic will probably be a nominal fee with his contract up in the summer. Might tide us over if other targets aren't available at this time.

Agree1 Disagree1

23 Jan 2017 09:13:15
What doesn't ring true for me is that Chelsea switched to the 3 at the back similar to what we are playing and Ivanovic was allegedly deemed to slow to be playing in that formation for them, so seems strange for us to be interested

23 Jan 2017 14:05:33
Can also play in front of defence, the guy is a destroyer.
