On twitter so might be a load of rubbish but there are claims that Porto are having the 9pm announcement that has been mentioned on here. It is claimed that it is either about the Moutinho/Rodriguez deals or Periera's future. We'll have to wait and see I suppose assuming the announcement is actually happening.

It just happened Joe it was about Periera not deciding his future yet.

I work with they club doctors john Thomas wife at a hospital in the wirral and they don't know what's going on at the club, they are more concerned as to what will happen to them when the new manager is installed. This is the side is football that no-one sees unfortunately #club

It was pretty much a small press conference with portos president, he said moutinho and rodriquez will possibly be leaving and nothing had happened with pereira upto now but the club and pereira were both keeping their options open at the time being

Rodriquez and Moutinho have both been sold for a combined £60m

A Portuguese journalist on twitter has stated Porto have offered Pereira a new contract as have Everton, Everton currently in pole position for his signature due to Porto selling two of their main assets in Moutinho and Rodriguez, decision to be made by Monday.

If Bill is true to his word by taking the fans opinion into consideration then Pereira is the man. I would be happy with any of the following three:- Pereira, Laudrup or Stubbs/ Ferguson combination. Please Bill don't go for Martinez.

Why would a Stubbs / Ferguson combination work at all? Or any combination? Evans / Houllier anyone? It's driven by a mix of sentiment and parochialism - not what a Premiership club like ours needs.

If you work for Bwin, aren't you putting your job in jeopardy by giving us insider information? After all, Bwin could lose a lot of money with your information being leaked. I personally wouldn't mind Stubbs being given the job with the right deputy but I don't think your story is very plausible.

Correct it is insider trading but if you work in the industry then you'll understand that you get privilegded information on a daily basis. It's often shared amongst other bookies in order to be on the ball when it comes to market suspensions or offering you lot shorter prices. as long as the indivivual (s) don't get caught betting within there "own" company or others then it passed as word of mouth.
Now for the last time, I will give you the information, think of it as a thank you for your support during Hillsborough. Mr Stubbs will be unveiled soon.

according to the daily post there is no pre contract agreement in place with pereira according to everton. and it will be next month before an appointment is made. seems a lot of people jumped the gun yesterday.

We've been linked - heavily or otherwise - with loads of players. Our scouting system must evaluate hundreds of players - some briefly and some intensively - so there's always a grain of "truth" in these stories. Besides, the interested parties - espeially agents - will always want to get these players' names into the media.
Oh for the good old days when the story appeared in the media only after our manager had swooped and the deal was done. With agents putting their snouts in the trough of Premier League riches and the fans' insatiable appetite for gossip being fed by the media, those days are long, long gone.
