Hey blues, So after a crackin start to the season what is everyones prediction for the campaign to come. Personally pre season would have been happy with top 8 but now think it is a real possibility we will reach the CL, i mean arsenal, the RS and spuds all goin backwardsn the door is wide open, or am i just gettin carried away
Thoughts?

Not too sure about Arsenal going backwards, but losing RVP and Song is a massive loss for them. Dont think spurs will be as good as they have been and the RS could well struggle this season. I dont think Newcastle will be asgood this season either.
I'd say 5th, although I do have a fiver on us making top 4
TJ

Not getting carried away, we have had 2 good matches and that's it. It's nice to have thIs to talk about at the start of the season instead of the doom and gloom. We've a good team now. Let's take it step by step
Dave M
Agree1

Think we could be looking at top four if the squad stays fit and we don't sell anybody follow follow follow
Agree0
Disagree0
Top 4 a real possibility if moyesey brings on 2 more this week. Get Niang in- will be a top player in the future, add Thomas Ince to the squad to add competition and pace in the final third and I would personally sell heitinga and bring in a young up and coming centre back.
Agree0
Disagree0
A tad mate, but a great start! Just stay as consistent as possible like Newcastle last year. They went into the last game with a chance of CL! Nail that top 6 first though!
Agree1
Disagree1
I reckon it's possible, here's hoping!
Bobcat
Agree1
Disagree1
No you are not....This IS the season... its make or break...
Agree0
Disagree0
I dont think top 4 unfortunately. weve had a cracking start which weve always wanted to see but lets not get carried away, its only been 2 matches (although damn tough ones in my opinion) as moyes said, check whats going on after 10 games have been played. lets not get all optimistic and dissapointed if it doesnt happen, just game by games is the way to go! i hate sounding negative about us but just think its too early yet to get carried away
Agree1
Disagree0
Top 4 is too far away maybe 6th we are no where near the level of man u,city, chelsea, arsenal, spurs ,lets not kid ourselves
Agree1
Disagree0
Didnt we beat Man U last week. Actually forget that. Didnt we completley outplay man u last week?
If we play like we have played so far and don't get to many injuries I can see us finishing 4th.
Agree1
Disagree0
I really think we'll finish top 4 this season, we have the goals in us now to bridge the gap to the 'big 4'
Agree1
Disagree0
If any everton 'fan' says that were heading for the cl your deluded. Firstly yes it's been a great start but it's only 2 games, secondly do you really think we have the quality or strength in depth to succed in the cl not a chance. Football is about improving in steps let's get into the europa cup an see how we get on from there {Ed025's Note - whats wrong with aiming high?...we are as good as any team out there, and getting to the champions league, would bring great financial reward, as well as boosting our profile which will make us more attractive to investors...you may call it delusion, i call it ambition..
Agree1
Disagree1
I agree ED025, we have a very strong squad when all fit so why not aim as high as possible. 4th would be an unbelievable achievement but Spurs, Newcastle & us have porved in the past that you can get in amongst the top4. Just hope we can maintain a high standard all season & who knows where we could finish.
Agree1
Disagree0
This Everton 'fan' believes we have every chance of pushing for a top four place, really gets me how some people question whether you are a real fan just because you have a different opinion than them
TommyTomTom
Agree0
Disagree0
No I am questioning if this person realises the implications of qualifying for the champions league an how it could actually destroy the work that's been made so far. The squad is to small an there is no experience there although yes finish as high up as possible but if you over reach it can detrimental to the progress that is being made {Ed025's Note - not having it mate..if its that detrimental..how come every club sees it as the golden chalice?...the revenue alone is fantastic, never mind the prestige an advertising income..
Agree1
Disagree0
You don't have to take it. Last time everton qualified in the top 4 how much money was spent? Extra tv revenue? Sponsorship revenue? No I thought so a jump to quick to something that can't quite yet be done an push something as small as our squad to extremes would hurt it Europa is best at the end of this season an build a stronger squad with players for streangth in depth which the team would need to take on a competition like that an all the games in the domestic league/cup {Ed025's Note - we will have to agree to disagree mate...i say finish as high as we can..
Agree0
Disagree1
The last time we finished in the top 4 it was too soon for our team, People like rooney, tommy G had just been sold and players like Arteta looked so out of place when we player Villarreal.
Now we have a team! The players have such a bond and want to win things, look at Neville's and Moyes's interviews the last year and how much they want to win things here,
Why would they want to hold back now when it's achievable
Agree1
Disagree0
Nil Satis Nisi Optimum- I agree with Ed
Agree1
Disagree0
I aint deluded at all feel it is a real possibility to reach CL. If we do the revenue it brings will allow us to build a bigger squad and attract better players and make the club a more attractive opportunity for an investor. You play as many games in the europa league so why is that a better option.
COYB78
Agree1
Disagree0
Early days but I think our team and chelsea are the most improved so far man city have not improved man utd although they signed RVP I did not think that was there problems last season scoring goals there defence and midfield need strengthing which I still don't think they have done it looked dodgy again against fulham yesterday so I think we can close the gap this year nothing to do with us but if I was arsene wenger I would do everything to sign dembele of fulham the guy is a perfect replacement for song why no one has come in for him I don't know but he his box to box and has everything in his locker
Agree0
Disagree1
If ruining progress means getting into the cl then destroy the progress! because the last few seasons we've been going backwards last year we did superb to finish where we did, this season is when we push onwards and moyes knows it as you can tell with the players we are bringing in. if what im hearing about yann m'vila is true as well we will be immense

Ambition? Niang and Ince please {Ed025's Note - why not?..
Agree0
Disagree0
We can sign them both becuase we have the money to cover them both
Agree1
Disagree0
I'm sorry but the OP has truly no idea of how much Tom Ince would cost compared to Niang.
Where will we get the money from to purchase both too?
Dave M
Agree0
Disagree0
I'd love both, I think Niang would be cheaper and the way people talk about him possibly better in the long term ( sell on value)
Saw holloway chatting about ince and his old man, do you think the fact his old man was a red could scupper our chances for ince, if we are actually interested?
TJ
Agree1
Disagree1
Personally I would sign Ince & loan him back to Blackpool plus loan them Barkley as this would/could be a future Everton partnership anyway ....Ince has one big advantage over Niang having already proved he can cope with the english game. However Niang must also be an outstanding talent to have got trials at such big clubs so what can we say except ... imwt....coyb....cracking start, also can't fault Ed025, Jessica Ennis all the way
Agree1
Disagree0
Mr Oyston wouldn't let Holloway turn down anything over 4.5/5 million. Niang would cost 2 rising to 5.. Not much difference.
Agree1
Disagree1
There isn't a player at Blackpool that likes Ince, apparently his ego is as big as his dads ever was. He's also up to allsorts off the field. Moyes would never sign anyone like him. {Ed025's Note - thats speculation on your part, he did have a bit of an attitude when he was at the R/S, but he was only a kid, and believe me, im an expert on kids with attitudes, i think blackpool will want too much for him anyway..

Agree1

Oh ye of little faith.
OP {Ed025's Note - if sundeland played ..we would not have been second on, but who cares?...we should be on..how do they do that...the way we are playing..
Agree1

It doesn't help when you have 2 ex rs as the main pundits, they must giggle to themselves when they put us on last. Nice to see them choking on their words as they were forced to say good things about us last night though.

Agree0

We've released a lot of squad players this summer we really could do with some typical Moyes deadline day signings that dont get noticed like coleman and gosling in the past
Agree1

After the Ince performance for Blackpool today believe me his price has gone up, I'd be happy with a squad player or two but please no last minute shockers like the arteta
Agree0

I realy like the look of the Ince kid , he is ONE for the future we must get him

Ince is looking better and better so unless the deals in the pipeline I cant see myself. Would be a good addition though. COYB

It is a joke, he as only just signed a new deal. Lets face it the only London team good enough is Chelsea and they have enough players fighting for their place. Heard they are after Hulk and Carvoni, i don't think would go. He is a hero at Everton and they are doing well, maybe next season.

Haah. don't think so ya clown........kopite go home and stop being a bitter red deluded person....briski
Agree1

Its Arsenal, they have RVP money burning a hole in there pockets and Wenger has to try and appease the fans. The only thing that might make him stay is the Mirrales factor, he could have signed for Arsenal but chose Everton because Fellini was there
Agree1
Disagree0
He works for the BBC so he should come out with the same statement tonight on MOTD, and who knows he might say a Manchester club is going to bid for LB because he has a clause in his contract.
Agree1
Disagree0
Think your the r/s posting that. Mad john
Agree0

And only 2 games into the season and he looks like he could be worth 3 times what we paid for him come the end of it.
jog on rs...
Agree1

It will need to be a bid of 30 million at least to prize him away but he ain't going nowhere especially as he persuaded mirallas to come {Ed025's Note - your having a giraffe...30m only gets his hair..
