{Ed002's Note - A whole host of clubs including Arsenal, Inter, Spurs and Chelsea have been looking at Hajduk Split's Nikola Vlasic for mopre than a year. He is well thought of.}

29 Aug 2017 10:35:15
The lad had been talked up before the games involving us. He has fantastic reputation - was being compared Modric in the press. Another one for the future no doubt, but let's hope he can make an impact this season too. Would love to see us throw our hat into the ring for Sanches at Bayern - he'd really get the Gladys St rocking. Still looking light at the back too.

{Ed025's Note - i cant find nothing concrete at this stage tron, sorry mate..

28 Aug 2017 21:25:42
Can't see them selling now without a replacement I think we left it very late to get a striker Sandro is not fully fit so we might have to depend on Rooney or lookman til January but once Sandro is fit I think he will come good.

28 Aug 2017 22:12:59

Agree with you there stef. Think we've more chance on slimani. One may go with them signing ihenacho.

Sorry to bring it up again ed but you said not long ago there was no chance of costa, in reading today he's signed for athletico and they have loaned him to us. How would that happen if they are banned from transfer business.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - What are you reading? Twitter is it?}

28 Aug 2017 17:04:06
Come on Ed eat humble pie.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - So you think Costa has joined Atletico Madrd and they have loaned him to Everton? That is not allowable as I have explained repeatedly. So perhaps rather trying to have a go at me you should spend some time thinking about how stupid you look.}

28 Aug 2017 17:05:34
Nothing firm but koeman doesn't help when he doesn't give a straight no on the costa topic. I have a feeling it's going to happen but only for 6 months which I don't think we will see the best of him as he's been awol. Are you 100% it's not going to happen. Or do you just think it won't happen?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 17:14:04
No this is apparently true. An alert from fotmob stated it just now.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - From now on I think the Everton fans might be best to ask all of their questions on Twitter.}

28 Aug 2017 17:23:34
as ED02 has explained Madrid can't sign him then loan him to us for 6 months but just say they could would you want him in his current state he has been partying in Brazil since May and it would take a good 4 months to get him fit then for two months he wouldn't be arsed about trying (look at Chelsea last Jan when he wanted to move to china) as he wouldn't want to injure himself before heading back to Spain no thanks not for me in his current state.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - If Madrid pay Chelsea for the player but don't register him then Chelsea would loan him to anyone who will pay his wages of course. Else Chelsea would sell him (and there are interested sides but no acceptable quotes and I doubt Costa would accept being sold elsewhere that Atletico.}

28 Aug 2017 17:24:18
No i'm not having a go and the loan will be from Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - So why did you right sucjh an absolutely stupid post then?}

28 Aug 2017 17:27:05
If we want Costa why we just put a bid in for him I don't believe the rumours but why don't we put a bid in there is not even a sniff of this rumour anywhere else but twitter I'm sure Ssn would of picked up on this if Koeman wants him offer the money 💰.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 17:33:51
I think it was only a joke ed. He didn't say anything to provoke you just made a little joke.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 19:53:36
They actually COULD sign Costa, but not register him, allow him to come to Everton on loan, and then register him in January. Waste of time IMO. Take a month to get him fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 21:10:47
Athletico could not loan him to Everton as he will not be registered so therefore he is not their player, don't see how this is confusing, let's say you buy a sim card for a phone, you have purchased the card but without registering it onto the network you cannot use it right? Quite simple really, so if Athletico buy Costa from Chelsea the purchase can go through but the paperwork cannot be submitted to Spanish FA or Uefa or anybody else for that matter, any deal needs to be done with the club the player is registered with and that is Chelsea and only Chelsea.
A player must be registered at an association to play for a club
as either a professional or an amateur in accordance with the
provisions of article 2. Only registered players are eligible to
participate in organised football. By the act of registering, a
player agrees to abide by the statutes and regulations of FIFA, the
confederations and the associations.
2. A player may only be registered with one club at a time.
Google is more knowledgeable than Twitter.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 18:14:00
Now now ed were all blues hear, I hope you eat your words and he does sign if it's for the full season 6 months is a waste of wage fund as we wouldn't see the best out of him until probably Christmas. Would you like us to sign costa ed?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - What words would these be?}

28 Aug 2017 18:26:23
Rumours seem to be coming from a Spanish journalist ed after a bit of digging. Not a high level source at all, if it hits sky then I'll start to take notice.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained (a) Everton can buy Diego Costa from Chelsea and they would be pleased to sell, but I doubt the player would want to move out of his comfort zone of sunny South America or Spain to move to the grim, wet and cobbled streets Northwest of England where there would be a significant cultural change, smog, dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street, little chance of football at the highest level and only chips and fried curry to eat. (b) Loan the player from Chelsea if they have a confirmed buyer.

What can't happen is that Atletico Madrid buy the player and loan him to Everton.

I appreciate that this is something that most of you cannot come to grips with.}

28 Aug 2017 18:51:00
Think costa is unlikely and it's of obvious concern that he may be grossly unfit! Did anyone else enjoy the irony of ed002 asking why somebody would "right such a stupid post"?!?!

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 21:32:49
I see you don't like to be wrong ed don't put people's posts up because your having a bitch fit.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about? No doubt it is embarrassing.}

28 Aug 2017 21:35:28
No but they can sell him to athletico an then tel chelsea to loan him to everton as part of the deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have explained over and over what the options are but the Everton fans only care for Twitter.}

29 Aug 2017 00:32:52
I come on here for the banter and to read other people's thoughts and feelings on Everton, I go to twitter for transfer news as so far (this window anyway) I have heard about all the incomings on there before anywhere else, like just now one of the Twitter guys who I've found to be very reliable has mentioned that costa has agreed to come to us, just waiting for Chelsea to finalise, this guy rarely tweets about players coming but when he does it's usually spot on, only downside is it's for a short term loan which unless we get a permanent cf in aswell Seems pointless to me, great player and will improve us but how many games will he actually play, will take a while to get match fitness sorted, then by time he's up and running we wave bye bye, but we will see.
Not posting this to have a go and take the mick just sharing what I've seen and believe to be correct. Peace out ✌️.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 09:22:31
Ed002 - you fly off the handles so quickly. You're in the know, not everyone understands circumstance like you do. That's not their fault! You try to educate people and you get aggy and offensive when they don't understand. Get a grip.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - No, I explain things clearly over and over again but because many of the fans are lemming-like Twitterettes they cannot see beyond what some spotty teenager in Darlington has written. I appreciate that many, as you suggest, don't understand and I do appreciate that most football fans are dumb as a box of rocks. As for your auto-erotic suggestion "get a grip", I will pass on that.}

29 Aug 2017 10:25:25
Don't take it so personally. I know your response to that is, "I won't" but your comments suggest otherwise. You do have good knowledge though and I'm not taking digs at you. You do a good job. Your comments are emotional on occasion.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't get emotional.}

29 Aug 2017 10:26:05
Most football fans might understand the ins and outs of football dealings but branding them dumb is a bit harsh, even for you!

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 10:46:18
I quite like chips and fried curry . just saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It really doesn't surprise me GT.}

29 Aug 2017 13:16:45
Long time listener, first time caller. Shout out to ed002 who has explained the situation perfectly. I can't believe people aren't seeing that Atletico can't loan/ sell/ parttradewiththegoat at any stage until January.

Patience boys, a more permanent target man will arrive or we wait till the next circus.
Cheers ✌️.

here is a rumour from croatia. don't know how anyone haven't mention it . I will do you a favour and bring you some good news despite i'm a red! so Nikola Vlasic agent confirmed interest in his client from Everton and he applaud to fans and hug all of his teammates on his way out of game. apperently fee is in a region of 8 mill pounds. he is 19 and already has 120 games for Hajduk Split and he is best croatian young player by a mile. he play in cam, ss and both wings. fast strong and best at taking people on. his vision is something to work on. if truth you got yourself a real gem if he can adapt on life in rainy England. enjoy your day gents!

I can't find anything about this one anywhere, but if true would get behind the kid we signed him up. I must say i don't even remember if he played aginst us in either of the qualifiers so must not have had his best games then. I was hoping Koeman/ Walsh/ Board had players who would have a more immediate impact on the squad lined up.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 15:13:22
he played both legs and was for me one of the best on pitch. he had couple of great dribbles taking two or three man. he is special and his father was his personal trainer he creates champios. his sister was high jump Blanka Vlasic world champion. trust me he is so strong and has amazing balace so hard to get off the ball. his agent said that after the game in split koeman was so impressed talks started and Milan and couple of italian clubs are in the mix but they don't have enough money.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 15:18:43
Only one that stood out for me was there midfielder Barry thought he was outstanding.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:38:08
dont know how you didn't see him. Barry is good player but he doesn't have pace to play in english football and he can't kick a ball with weaker foot. Vlasic has more impact in our league than modric and kovacic when in his age for example, every hajduk goal is through him he creates 10 chances per match. problem is i don't know if he could get a work permit in uk as he is only u21 regular starter soon he will be called in senior squad.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 16:45:13
Vlasic won't happen. Just spoke to my pal who lives in croatia and is a hadjuk fan. Vlasic had never played for the national squad so no work permit. Non starter. Unless we loan him out.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 17:00:12
Does he need a work permit if he is Croatian?

ESPN reporting that we are after the Cardiff striker Zohore. Any truth in this eds? Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i have heard nothing on him joe..sorry..

28 Aug 2017 17:19:36
Apparently another prem club bid £12m for him, Cardiff want nearer £30m, we have offered somewhere in the region of £18m and talks are ongoing.

27 Aug 2017 20:28:19
tell ya what, this page must depress the eds when we lose. yea am not happy we got beat but c'mon was u expecting to steam roll everyone? we have basically a new squad who are still getting to know each other's game plus we had 7 first team players out injured/ suspended.
cheer up lads its our first defeat including Europe and pre season one defeat and koeman is inept and the board need to go?

Agree3 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 07:18:39
we had played to many games in too short a time yesterday and the overall strategy from koeman was wrong. he should have played a back 4 forcing chelsea to play thru us rather than around us clearly he learned nothing from last season. nothing to worry about still have good players and this loss will prompt the board to get there finger out. sad tho that we didn't make a fight of it, hopefully the team will raise there game next time. if we had coleman, bolasie, and mccarthy fit this kind of tired performance wouldn't happen. coyb get that striker over the line and its all good.

Agree2 Disagree4

28 Aug 2017 10:03:39
Fully expected to lose yesterday. We played away to an 11 of top class international players, most of which played in the same system together last season when they won the league. They also did not travel to Croatia on Thursday night. We will not win every game. Surely the goal is progress. The squad had progressed from last season. If we can pick up a no 9 before Thursday, a good season lies ahead. Chin up boys.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you all the way tadpole mate..

28 Aug 2017 10:20:23
Think RK was forced into playing a back 5 yesterday - whether he would have done without all injuries who knows. But if you playing that then surely Cuco a better option at RB because you need full backs to push forward - and that is not Masons game.
Hopefully 2/ 3 signings this week + replace any outs, get Gylfi a bit more match practice and we can look to turn over Spurs. That game definitely winnable.

28 Aug 2017 14:20:51
Hi all, let's not hit the panic button just yet but I have to admit Burnley played far better 1st game of the season getting all 3 points than us (tiredness and injuries apart) . If either of Martinez teams had played at the Bridge as badly as Koeman last x2 the lynch mob would have been out in full force FACT. We are so slow and our midfield new boys epitomises that fact. Our 1st purchase had to be a FAST striker or a Target man and instead we have purchased x3 players that imo best positions are NO 10.? What's going on? If the TW closes with this squad there is NO way we will finish 7th. The Barkley debarcle is also class. Poor lad hasn't said a thing, just rejected the offer on the table but we have then said . he has to this date (date passes) and not a dickie bird said. I'm sorry but I give credit where it's due and don't wear blue rose tinted glasses all the time something needs to happen here folks!
