Sorry to bring it up again ed but you said not long ago there was no chance of costa, in reading today he's signed for athletico and they have loaned him to us. How would that happen if they are banned from transfer business.

Nothing firm but koeman doesn't help when he doesn't give a straight no on the costa topic. I have a feeling it's going to happen but only for 6 months which I don't think we will see the best of him as he's been awol. Are you 100% it's not going to happen. Or do you just think it won't happen?

as ED02 has explained Madrid can't sign him then loan him to us for 6 months but just say they could would you want him in his current state he has been partying in Brazil since May and it would take a good 4 months to get him fit then for two months he wouldn't be arsed about trying (look at Chelsea last Jan when he wanted to move to china) as he wouldn't want to injure himself before heading back to Spain no thanks not for me in his current state.

Else Chelsea would sell him (and there are interested sides but no acceptable quotes and I doubt Costa would accept being sold elsewhere that Atletico.}

If we want Costa why we just put a bid in for him I don't believe the rumours but why don't we put a bid in there is not even a sniff of this rumour anywhere else but twitter I'm sure Ssn would of picked up on this if Koeman wants him offer the money 💰.

They actually COULD sign Costa, but not register him, allow him to come to Everton on loan, and then register him in January. Waste of time IMO. Take a month to get him fit.

Athletico could not loan him to Everton as he will not be registered so therefore he is not their player, don't see how this is confusing, let's say you buy a sim card for a phone, you have purchased the card but without registering it onto the network you cannot use it right? Quite simple really, so if Athletico buy Costa from Chelsea the purchase can go through but the paperwork cannot be submitted to Spanish FA or Uefa or anybody else for that matter, any deal needs to be done with the club the player is registered with and that is Chelsea and only Chelsea.
A player must be registered at an association to play for a club
as either a professional or an amateur in accordance with the
provisions of article 2. Only registered players are eligible to
participate in organised football. By the act of registering, a
player agrees to abide by the statutes and regulations of FIFA, the
confederations and the associations.

Rumours seem to be coming from a Spanish journalist ed after a bit of digging. Not a high level source at all, if it hits sky then I'll start to take notice.

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained (a) Everton can buy Diego Costa from Chelsea and they would be pleased to sell, but I doubt the player would want to move out of his comfort zone of sunny South America or Spain to move to the grim, wet and cobbled streets Northwest of England where there would be a significant cultural change, smog, dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street, little chance of football at the highest level and only chips and fried curry to eat. (b) Loan the player from Chelsea if they have a confirmed buyer.

What can't happen is that Atletico Madrid buy the player and loan him to Everton.

I appreciate that this is something that most of you cannot come to grips with.}

I come on here for the banter and to read other people's thoughts and feelings on Everton, I go to twitter for transfer news as so far (this window anyway) I have heard about all the incomings on there before anywhere else, like just now one of the Twitter guys who I've found to be very reliable has mentioned that costa has agreed to come to us, just waiting for Chelsea to finalise, this guy rarely tweets about players coming but when he does it's usually spot on, only downside is it's for a short term loan which unless we get a permanent cf in aswell Seems pointless to me, great player and will improve us but how many games will he actually play, will take a while to get match fitness sorted, then by time he's up and running we wave bye bye, but we will see.
Not posting this to have a go and take the mick just sharing what I've seen and believe to be correct. Peace out ✌️.

Long time listener, first time caller. Shout out to ed002 who has explained the situation perfectly. I can't believe people aren't seeing that Atletico can't loan/ sell/ parttradewiththegoat at any stage until January.

Apparently another prem club bid £12m for him, Cardiff want nearer £30m, we have offered somewhere in the region of £18m and talks are ongoing.
