Press Association Sport are reporting that Everton's move for FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer could be in trouble because of a problem with the player's medical.
Press Association Sport understands that medical staff have identified an issue which raised enough concerns for Everton to go back to Twente in an attempt to renegotiate the deal.

just seen someone say that we've hit a snag on the Fer deal but they didn't know what it was... I've been hearing all day that apparently he's been arrested back in Holland (not sure why) so that might be it. No proof or confirmation that he has though, so don't take this as fact.

Its true!! Just on tv there are concerns over his medical and team arent 100pct happy, and there are issues over how fee will be paid. Grrrrrr
Agree0

He looks like a good player, but we can't afford to pay £8m for a player with a dodgy knee. We already have Gibson and Miralles who can't string more than 4 games on the run together, and Coleman and Anichebe aren't much better.
We haven't got the luxury of taking an £8m punt - so the club is right to be cautious {Ed025's Note - i agree with the first and last bit...but giving our players stick, for being injured in the line of duty...is out of order mate..
Agree0
Disagree0
Im not giving the players stick for being injured (never have and never will) Just pointing out that we have a small first team squad with 4 players who seem to struggle to maintain long term match fitness, and a few others the wrong side of 30. I just think if there is an element of risk in the deal the club is right to be cautious, and spend the money we pay through the turnstiles wisely {Ed025's Note - i agree with the caution, and spending wisely...but dont let this forum become another toffeeweb..so called everton fans moaning like little girls about everything that happens, the people on there are a joke!..
Agree0

He's merely stating a fact Ed. We have enough injury problems with 1st teamers without adding to it. Meanwhile, is there any confirmation regarding the snag with Fer? I'm reading it's a medical problem while others are citing an arrest in Holland... BlueTone

Everton are lining up a 7 million pound deal for Danny Graham.

I'm not sure what to make of this but have just been told that apparently Everton are looking likely to sign David Villa on loan with a view to a 14mil permanent move in the summer. Arsenal were looking to sign him but Barca seem to think if he is a hit at Everton and help achieve champs league we will pay a greater fee than Arsenal will. Don't shoot the messenger guys. Hello mate, no matter what you post there will always be crabs giving you negative remarks trying to be clever! Anyway onto your post, I highly don't see this Happening mate, minus the broken leg David villa is still in the top 5 strikers in the world, true he may not be able to get a game, but that's cause of a tricky little fella called messi haha, Barcelona don't want to sell him, we can only dream and pray by some miracle were able to get him on loan some home haha then we won't be able to pay his wages unless barca pay half, as for the 14 million, I don't think David moyes would be willing to spend that on a 31 year old, bargain yes.. But we really can't afford to make those kind of splash the cash deals at the moment! Oh well I hope I'm wrong and we sign him haha keep smiling blues, something goods happening at everton :)
Giannis The Blue

Call me tight but I wouldn't spend 14 million on a 31 year old striker no matter who he is. There would be no resale value when his contract is up, say in 3 years. Best spent on a future star. Not that I for one second think we have 14 million spare after the Fer deal.

Why would Burnley entertain such a ridiculous, preposterous idea. He's their top scorer and he's presumably in demand for a not too insignificant fee, in and around the £3.5m you've mentioned.
