Just wanted to write a bit of a positive post, instead of the usual anti Moyes posts that we have been reading today.
All the videos that have been posted on Everton TV have looked like all the players are enjoying their training and time together (yes. even Fellani). In my opinion we have a squad of players who will be challenging for the top 4. if not higher.
I think we may add another cm and cf into the squad, however I think Martinez is looking for a type or player who can blend in with the rest of squad.

On another lighter note. who else thinks Jon Stones is well beyond his years. He might be the one footballer on Match of the day who can hold a decent interview!.

Believable17 Unbelievable2

John stones knows how to hold an interview, he did a lot at barnsley

Agree2 Disagree0

Sailor, Top 4 or higher?.

Here lies the problem i'm afraid. To get in the top 4 means finishing above Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal, even higher means finishing above Chelsea, Utd or City.

Look at who these clubs are signing and the budgets, then look at Evertons. NO CHANCE.

Great opportunity for the club to promote ourselves in this lip licking fixture. Would be good if they made it free on Everton TV. Good idea?
Degsypulford

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Totally agree Degsy. us fans pay for home and away games. It is the clubs choice to host friendly games outside of the UK (although it markets our club!) I think in respect that the fans back home should have some sort of free screening.

Agree1 Disagree0

Stop moaning and pay up a few quid to watch our club, you'd spend more on 2 pints you tight arse *******s

Agree3 Disagree0

Jesus it's £3. 99! I am sure you will be watching it on wiziwig anyway. Why not give the club money for these tours? It's prob costing a fortune. Us Fans are getting the opportunity to see Everton against Juve, Real Madrid etc instead of Preston NE and Oldham FCS. Some people will never be happy. Exiled Blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Please think about what you're saying - "it's 3. 99!". Why assume everybody's got an endless source (or any source) of disposable income? Times are hard for lots of people (think about the area we're from - not exactly record employment or wages). The whole notion of football being a working class game - something the most vocal fans play up to - is being swamped by this notion that you bend over for the club, however much they ask you to fork out. If you refuse, or show dissent, based on the idea that it smacks of greed, some person questions your loyalty.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nonsense! If you can't afford £3. 99 then you should sell the equip you need to watch wiziwig! your phone /laptop and stop paying for your broadband. Get the ale in lad!

Agree0 Disagree0

"Ale"? "Lad"? Your pseudo scouse dialect seems to contradict your proto-Tory world view. Like I said, the most vocal fans play up to the club's working class roots.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see EFC showing all the games for free and I don't think they should either. I would be happy if they gave sesaon ticket holders and even memebers of the supporters clubs the games for free but not all supporters. As for paying £3. 99 well I have to pay that for a beer living in the south so its one less pint for me tonight. As for the times are hard its all a matter of prespective people will spend money on what's importent to them oh and why not buy the USA package its £8. 99 so you can save £2. 98

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2013 16:45:13
Try living on £100 a week and say "it's only £3. 99". Sure it's nothing if you have a decent job but for us less well off it's a lot if you want to watch all the games. The RS don't charge for their tv channel so why should we.

Agree1 Disagree0

Cant beileve the outcry over 4quid, bringing politics into it and everything, everton and other teams don't usually stream pre season so its a bonus extra, we would all love things for free but that's not how life works

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want to get into a big verbal with you, but it's not really down to "perspective". Agree entirely with the last poster - when you're living on next to nothing there is no perspective, just the cold fact that you're unable to do anything other than exist.

Is the club solely there to make money? That was never its remit when it was formed. Some impressionable fans seem to think we have a moral duty to shovel every last penny into the club, as if it were a charming non-league outfit, staffed entirely by volunteers.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2013 17:43:48
Degsypulford again. I just thought it might promote our beloved "club" to some who have never even heard of us. Please note I say "club" because that's what I still foolishly think we are. I know we are not Manchester Utd PLC, but Everton Football Club. Look up the definition of "club" to see what I am on about. Whilst I know we are a business, I still stupidly think of us as a club.
And yes I am a Tight a**e!
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

"Bringing politics into it and everything. ". I'm picturing Homer Simpson, clutching his head with the pain of it all.

Dempsey probably going home to see family why would he fly to the usa to sign for us.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

On his way to talk to MLS side Seattle Sounders source tv

Agree2 Disagree0

Well because we're on tour in the USA, I know you might say "it's just the squad out there"

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2013 20:34:18
Dempsey not in talks with us according to the echo hopefully not true

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Having talks with the Seattle Sausages or whatever they are called! {Ed025's Note - love it.. :)

Does anyone know if there is any prize money for this ICC tournament?

BitterBlue

Believable3 Unbelievable4

We are not that hard up are we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its only friendlies its good for the club to get our name out

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no money, it is just a pre season tournament, it is all bragging rights

With the so called apology from Utd on their approach to Moyes, the question is "did Bill have a heads up to "?. Think we deserve a statement from Bill and the Board on this.

What you think Ed? {Ed025's Note - i say drop it, as very little good would come of a witch hunt..

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I m with u Ed. The King is DEAD. Long Live the King.
By the way has this been mentioned on MUTV. AKA tv.

Stones penalty would have been on every two minutes if he was playing for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed stop supporting bill kenwright he, s the chairman,. this moyes business stinks. either bill knew or he didn't. at least come out and say everton will not do business with utd this window for a complete lack of respect. kenwright has a lot to answer for, to make out he didn't know moyes was going is a joke. if he sells Baines to utd means this is one of his stage acts. sick of people defending him. make a statement for the good of everton fans {Ed025's Note - i wont stop supporting BK..im an evertonian, and hes our chairman...stop looking for reasons to knock the guy!..

Agree2 Disagree2

Not sure it is a witch hunt as such Ed, but the OP makes a valid point, Moyes admits knowing so he has lied to us, if Bill was also in the dark fair comment we put it down to experience, but if Bill did know then he has lied to us also and that from the Chairman of our club is totally unacceptable behaviour, it would show a total lack of respect for all of us. imo it is something that needs bringing out into the open. {Ed025's Note - i think we should concentrate on the future, which looks very rosy, instead of raking up old ashes looking for skeletons..

Agree0 Disagree0

If Bill did not know does this not constitute tapping up a manager under contract?. I'd push for some compo. And that's when Bill call claims direct. {Ed025's Note - i think they have done us a favour...we owe them!..

Agree0 Disagree0

I couldn't give two hoots about Moyes. Onwards and upwards with Bobby.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hey guys, like Ed says, let's move on. To put it all into perspective, I can honestly say that I knew Moyes was going to Utd 3 years ago. This was when Sir Red nose started talking him up. In fact I predicted it on this site. So I guess BK, DM and SAF all knew. However, I think the thing that changed was the timing of it. I think SAF had planned to stay on another season. Moyes was then either going to sign a new deal with us or move to Germany or some other foreign post. This prompted SAF to retire early thus ensuring they tied Moyes down to a contract before he went elsewhere or signed a new deal with Everton. They would then have to pay compo and would look very silly. Hence what really came out as them chasing Moyes. These things happen. It is all water under the bridge.
Degsypulford. ps I like the comment, The king is dead, long live the king. Very apt.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you ed. not arse lickin! I am old enough to have been on the pitch demonstrating against Peter Johnson. bill kenwright loves Everton. IMO he is mr. Everton. Admits to not bein a billionaire but if he was we would rule! If he hadn't taken over I wouldn't like to think where we would be. So go in a quiet corner and have a word with yourself! Bluenose will

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair comment Ed, you are spot on the future looks great we have a good new manager in place and everything is looking positive for the new season.

But this has called Bill's integrity into question, and no I am not one of those BK haters, quite the opposite if you look at my posts over the year or so I have been posting I have supported him at every turn without exception, because I believe the man is a genuine honest bloke who has the best interests of the club at heart.

I am not looking for skeletons nor a reason to knock BK, quite the opposite, but this will give BK's detractors new ammunition to throw at him, if (as I believe) Moyes has done the dirty on him as we are led to believe fair comment, a simple statement will sort it out and anyone who wants to can vent at the pond life who is actually to blame rather than the Chairman. {Ed025's Note - i just cant see the point mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

The point is a very simple one Ed, the Chairman of our club who I believe to be an honest man is being made out to have lied to all of us. Do you not think that is kind of important? Considering most of us throw a fair chunk of our hard earned each year at the club in one way or another and trust in the man to do right by us? If I were in Bills shoes I would no doubt be kicking Moyes all over Utd's training ground as we speak on general principal, but, I will settle for Bill setting the record straight in his own inimitable way. {Ed025's Note - damned if he does, damned if he does,nt for me WtG, if he was aware...what could he do?, he may have known, but thought he could convince him to change his mind!, the guy is in a no win situation, if he did know, what do you want him to do?...resign??...now that would really help!i just cant see the point mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2013 21:39:15
anything to bang on at Bill, the guy is one of us and you would take shinawatra or the like. As you all say IF! bill knew. None of you know so why bang on about it! miserable fekkers, just get on and support the club!

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2013 21:40:32
what would it matter if bill knew, who cares in rob we trust support the team. Some people have an agenda against bill, don't get me wrong he could do better but what about the other two persons that do nothing and nobody cares.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sooner the board have gone the better {Ed025's Note - some of them..

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is just a man, kenwright is just a man, everton is a football club. There has never been a serious ramification for any tapping up offence nor will there be. The guy was offered a new job which he saw as a promotion. His boss said ok if you don't want to work here anymore see ya. That boss hired someone else and the club moves on. If only the fans would to. And we wonder why we are called bitters? Let it go, Moyes did a great job for us, kenwright tries his best and the club which we all love is doing fine. Why can't we embrace the new direction and sod off the past. It's done, he has gone, we have moved on drop it.

Svenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone is entitled to their opinions lads. For me it kind of matters if the person in charge of our club is a man of integrity or a bare faced liar, and that is why it needs sorting, if you are happy not to know one way or the other fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes should have made the apology personally. Knew all along he knew for a long time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don`t think bill knew the apology says he won't do business with utd because of how they tapped up moyes

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you wtg. Also if he had been tapped up we could claim compo!

Agree0 Disagree0

Considering moyes is no longer our manager, he seems to be mentioned quite often on this site.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is how I see it. we have a squad of players I believe to be better than Arsenal and spurs, a bold statement I know. Thank you Moyes for giving us that, RM has the opportunity to take us another level, all we miss is the belief that we are top 4 quality, Arsenal and Spurs expect top 4 and have the belief they deserve it, we believe we are top 6 and fell away when the going got tough. BK has made a decision on a manager and I hope that it is as correct as the day he appointed Moyes, this time the appointment is to make us a real footballing team, in Martinez I now trust, good luck Moyes as I don't want it to be said that Everton to Utd was too big a step, all I want from you now is a negative approach vs us and a real lesson in going for it. let's get behind the new Everton and forget about people who don't want to be at our great club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do not understand where all the anti Kenwright feeling comes from. First of all he's one of us and loves the club as much as anyone. He's not a billionaire but he does a good job running the club in my opinion. At the end of the day we can't compete with the "Big Clubs" or for that matter with the shower across the park. Would you rather have someone like the Venkys in charge?. No-one with endless supplies of cash wants to buy us anyway. When or if somone comes along with more money who Bill trusts to run us properly he will sell up, until that happens stop whining and get behind the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why haven't the FA asked Man U to answer any questions about an illegal approach anyone else would be hammered for this ****in joke, sorry ed for the choice words. I know, we move on now and I like what I see with RM but annoys me double standards. Stanno

Is it true dempsey has flown to america to hold talks with us ed. Anybody know or would you guys have him {Ed025's Note - the flown to USA is right.

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Holding talks with the Seattle Sounders, I would bet my season ticket on it.

Ed if we win this ICC tournament and that's a big IF! Do we get Europe? {Ed025's Note - not unless we are playing cricket.. :)

02 Aug 2013 16:25:24
Oh wrong website sorry Ed! {Ed025's Note - no probs mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but that's just funny

Agree2 Disagree0

Almost as funny as the guy who said 'because Martinez was at Wigan, and Wigan have Europe, do we now get put into Europe because we've got Martinez?'

Some very weird people on this planet.

Agree2 Disagree1

Keith: I actually vocally laughed when I read that one a while back.

Agree1 Disagree0

Same here, AB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keith I'm certain whoever posted that did it as a joke, no one can be that naive

ED why are you so sure we have money for more players without selling? PADDOCKBLUE {Ed025's Note - just what i have been told by someone close to the club paddo..

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Cheers ed wasnt doubting you any ideas how much roughly? PADDOCKBLUE {Ed025's Note - i was told at least £15m, at the start..

Agree0 Disagree1

I never wrote that. Someone has the same name or is setting me up {Ed025's Note - i will sort it mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you will find I have been writing occasionally in as PADDOCKBLUE before you came on the scene mate haha PADDOCKBLUE. PS who cares grow up lol {Ed025's Note - you need to change it mate, too much confusion..

Does anyone know what's going on with the champions cup in america? i'm just looking at the fixtures/results on official site internationalchampionscup.com and according to that, even though we beat juventus, our next match against real madrid then determines if we play our final match for 5th place or 7th place. It makes no sense. Juventus will either be playing for 1st place or 3rd place. It seems that by winning we have given ourselves a lower competition finish! check it out and please clear this up if you know what's going on.

Believable0 Unbelievable7

If we beat Madrid then we play winners of AC milan & Chelski in the final, if we lose we player the losers for the 3rd place play off, haven't a clue what your looking at!

Agree2 Disagree0

I think it's just a mess up mate can't see it working out like that, I see what you mean because it's sayin if we lose against madrid we will be playing for 7th or 8th place, so the guy on the 1st reply obviously is looking at the wrong one himself!

Agree0 Disagree0

Think of it like we're at the semifinal stage now, we got through the quarters by beating Juve. {Ed025's Note - i dont know about you guys, but i think rubbing shoulders with the likes of milan, madrid. juve etc will really raise the profile of the club, hopefully we will be now be a more attractive proposition for players and investors alike, i really am optimistic about the forthcoming season, and cant wait to get started...COYB..

Agree4 Disagree0

I think they have made a misprint in the flow of the games. I think match 5 and match 6 have been put in the wrong areas. It makes no sense. If you swap match 's 5 and 6 it looks like a traditional 3rd and 4th place play offs as well as 5th and 6th.
The way I read it, we are in the semis now.
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 1st replier. its clear what I was looking at, I gave the site. why didn't you take a look before making out i'm clueless. I fully understand the concept of a knockout tournament but its the official site that is inferring its different. my guess would be that we advance to the final if we win and 3rd place playoff if we lose, and that the site has made a mistake in the fixtures, however there is a note about points awarded (2 for a win, 1 for losing on penalties, 0 for a straight loss, so what's this about) and americans always try to alter formats, just look at how they determine mls winners. so I was seeing if anyone could definitively clear it up.

Agree0 Disagree0

The site says match 5 winner (match 5 is us v real) v match 8 winner (match 8 is milan v chelsea)

there are no points being awarded whatsoever, you win a game you advance, simple as that

i feel worried for some people how they can't figure out a simple lay out like that but get up in the mornings and go to work

Agree0 Disagree0

We can win it or finish 4th at the worst just been on the site and it`s pretty easy to read maybe what you saw has been corrected

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2013 20:23:26
Its dead simple, if we beat Real Madrid we become World Champions, gain entry to both the Champions and Europa League and get a much needed £200 for passing GO.
AJ {Ed025's Note - if we take a chance, there could be more in our community chest, but then we might be in trouble with the monopolies commission.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2013 20:39:40
last poster is correct its between 1st or 2nd if we beat Madrid. If we don't it 3rd/4th place.

Marrone is closing in on a deal we are looking at a loan to buy but juventus want to sell him as they are overstocked in CM would be the perfect signing for us can cover Felli and gibbo aswell as CB would be perfect alongside jags and distin in a back 3. Price would be 10m approx. thoughts ed? Everyone? {Ed025's Note - good player, the price will be interesting..

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Ed is it true we closing in on his juventus player? {E d025's Note - it {Ed025's Note - will depend on the price..

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez is trying to push this through and wants to convert him into a ball playing defender in a back 3 who can step up into midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

We've already got a ball playing defender in Alcaraz, I would rather we buy a good striker myself but who knows, we may get both.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2013 14:28:26
Martinez has more sense to sign any old (30+) players. He will be looking to add sole youth and class for the right proce, not rushing. Dempsey will be going go seattle sounders.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Kone is 30 so he has already signed someone on 30 mark {Ed025's Note - hes 29, he wont be 30 till november..

Tottenham are on the brink of selling versatile attacking midfielder Clint Dempsey with Everton his believed destination.

The United States international misses tomorrow's friendly in Monaco after flying yesterday from Heathrow to San Francisco where the Toffees are based, while playing in the Guinness Championship

Believable5 Unbelievable14

Toffees aren't based in San Fran anymore, they are in LA (although not much distance between the two).

I think he is going to a MLS side, and I don't really want to sign another 30+yr old. Would much rather see Barkley play as opposed to Dempsey.

Agree1 Disagree0

Do we need him?? I think not

Agree2 Disagree0

A few seasons ago yes not now

Agree2 Disagree0

Seattle is looking like his destination not everton

Agree1 Disagree1

Seattle founders of MLS is who looks to be the likely designation.

Hamburg have admitted they can't afford Jelavic. I can't imagine there's too many other clubs coveting him, so looks like he'll be staying for at least one more season.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Great news, I think he will be amongst the top scorers this season

Agree5 Disagree2

We might aswell keep him he might be back on form next season you never no, it's not worth selling him for a few million if we can't replace him

Just seen on the Metro site on News Now Clint Dempsey not in the Tottenham squad to play Monaco as he has flown to America to talk to us

Believable5 Unbelievable12

I like him, he would be a good addition. But I hope Martinez will soon start to add younger players.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wouldn't have him sorry

Rich84

Agree1 Disagree0

Would be a decent buy.

Agree0 Disagree1

As a spurs fan, yes its true he is holding talks with everton football club.

Agree0 Disagree1

How many young player do u want seven under twenty five now

Agree0 Disagree0

He would not fly out to have talks as kenright is back in uk it does not work like that

Agree0 Disagree0

---fox---

Has flown to the States cauce he's joining an MLS club

Agree1 Disagree0

Would have had him before he joined spurs as a perfect replacement for Tim, but as the season went on he seemed to be quite anonymous so we did well to avoid a transfer fee and the wages. can't see this one. Blue Ben

Agree0 Disagree0

Do not think we should buy any more older players. Would be ok if he was free, not sure if he would fit into our system of play. More yonger players please team is ageing

Blue Warrior 1878

Agree0 Disagree1

I doubt BK has much to do with the transfers beyond sanctioning any bids, it would be Elstone's job to negotiate contracts etc, so Teary Bill being back in the UK shouldn't have any significance attached to it with regards to not being able to negotiate a deal.

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't want him, last season maybe, but now another year older, and the fact we would have to deal with Levy, who is a person to say the least.

But the main reason why I wouldn't want him is that his signing would mean Ross Barkley would see less time on the pitch, and to me, that is a massive no-no. Reckon Barkley is finally going to flourish under Martinez, who would actually allow him to express himself and play some football.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to rumours emerging today, Clint Dempsey has flew out to the US to 'talk to Everton'

Wouldn't mind seeing him at Everton for a season or two, great squad player and great work ethic. However, I can't help but think he's just off home for the week.

Thoughts?

Believable7 Unbelievable4

I think he's just off home for the week

Agree1 Disagree1

We've been linked with him in the past. Strong, hard working player who scores important goals. He'd have fitted right in with our previous manager's style of play but not so sure with the new system. Worth a go if the price is right.

Just been reading gossip page on tv and the Daily Mirror are reporting that Felli's Contract clause runs until the start of the season.

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Pure guesswork.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was always my understanding of it, all the early summer articles in the news suggested a date of 17th of August.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah what's the bet it runs until midnight on deadline day? no chance to spend on replacement (cynical blue seen it all too often)

Express reporting that we have received a written apology from Manchester United in how they approached motes, which left us threatening to report to the fa meaning that a move for Haines looks unlikely, but that fellaini's release clause is still yet to expire until start of season meaning a move for him could still be on the table

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Motes and Haines? {Ed025's Note - predictive text i imagine, we all know its moyes and baines..

It would be having haines playing for us. if the team bus breaks down he is on hand with his manuel to fix it

Starting to sound official now. Sportitalia are reporting that Everton have made an offer worth £7.7m for Jorginho including a future clause giving Verona 20 per cent of any future sale.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

It worries me that we could spend 7.7million on a player who's only proved himself in the serie B, that's like buying a player from somewhere in between the championship and league one for 7 million. Will he be able to make the step up to the EPL?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sound good Stevo. But his age and Barkley is too close. I concern one of this 2 top class rising star improvement will be shocked stop.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have had a quick look at this fella on you tube and from what is see he looks quite good. Nice first touch, good awareness and can pick a pass. Lots of clips have him picking the ball up in own 18yard box so looks good for tracking back. Honestly I am really struggling to pick a starting 11 now lol!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't believe this rumour, just lazy paper talk.
