He doesn't live in formby!

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Yes he does

Agree2 Disagree2

My kids go to school with his son Woodlands and yes he does live in Formby he drops him off every morning

Agree4 Disagree1

Baines 100% does live in formby.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Jul 2013 21:24:26
bainsey lives in Formby, my nephew is engaged to his cousin.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines lives opposite Steven Gerrard. His house is as big as Gerrard's gym like, but there you have it. Formby.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2013 22:16:01
Baines now 1/6 to sign for the Mancs, what a nightmare, really thought he was a true blue, hope it doesn't happen, ok if he wants to win silverware there are plenty of other clubs he could join, can't stand the Mancs, they're worse than the RS, Oh and I hope Moyes fails big time {Ed025's Note - serena williams was 1/6 to win wimbledon..

Believable5 Unbelievable3

You do realise baines is a kopite? {Ed025's Note - he is an everton legend!..

Agree4 Disagree6

Hes a blue nose! always has been! fact! so get it right!

Agree5 Disagree3

He was 7/4 to stay with us but was backed in yesterday to 11/8 and then 11/10 after a flood of bets. They rarely get it wrong but I feel (hope) they have with this.

Agree2 Disagree2

Baines is not a kopite, his dad is and he only went to two Liverpool games and wasn't intrested. He then signed for everton as a youngster and supported the blues. I know this because my dad works with his uncle

Agree3 Disagree1

Actually he is a Liverpool fan or was when he was a youngster. Who cares anyway he is Evertons best player and a club legend.

Wudz

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes I agree Ed I was just pointing out he was a Liverpool fan.

Agree1 Disagree1

Lads just to clear it up I went to school with bainsey, from infants right thru seniors and yes he was a red all his family r apart from 1. But no doubting he's a blue now!

Agree2 Disagree1

We are Utd's feeder club, no loyalty in this sad game, Moyes you treacherous twxt. The irony is that we are trying to do the same thing to Wigan? (Wavertree Blue)

Agree4 Disagree2

The difference is our players are class. We are signing utter rubbish. Bad start to his managerial reign at everton.

Agree1 Disagree0

Carragher was a blue. Is he these days? end of convo

Agree2 Disagree1

Stephen Gerrard wanted to leave Liverpool until his family got threatened by certain heavies in the city

Michael Owen was an Evertonian til he became an moneyonian - Steve McManaman was also a blue - plus Robbie Fowler and several other red mercenaries

is there any point to this conversation? - sigh

anyway - for what it's worth, Baines was defo always a blue

What happened to this big signing from Spain that was going to smash r transfer record

Believable2 Unbelievable4

It's saldodo were waiting to see if fellaini goes

Agree2 Disagree3

The big transfer is still coming but has been held up by us waiting on outgoing transfers before bringing someone in.

Agree1 Disagree1

Whose this Saldodo mate? He any good, rather go for Soldado myself like but maybe this Saldodo may be the next Messi!

Agree0 Disagree2

Big name spanish lge player on way

Agree1 Disagree1

Soldado. came from real madrid, excellent player, box player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Soldato was agreed deal whilst Moyes was here, NOT a Matinez target

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2013 20:49:06
Anyone else heard about us signing Jonjo Shelvey in the hope he can scare the kids away and stop them playing football on the car park at Goodison?

Believable6 Unbelievable6

I can't believe they're asking 6m for him! Cheeky two weeks after thursday's!

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jul 2013 18:35:37
im an everton fan living in durham and the rumour going around up here is we are interested in sunderlands lee cattermole. hope its not true but just passing on what I heard

Believable5 Unbelievable12

Not going to happen, not good enough for EFC.

Agree5 Disagree3

Kone isn't either, but we're still signing him. Hope it's not true as I don't rate Cattermole. He's too likely to get himself sent off.

Lee

Agree4 Disagree3

I live in Sunderland and I've heard nothing about either

Agree2 Disagree0

No to kone

Agree1 Disagree0

There just winding you up mate. lol

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2013 17:59:25
Did tell you yesterday kone alcaraz an McGeedy would b joining, well 2 ov 3 will b dun tomoro am McGeedy by Sunday, just waiting on a call over something an ill forward it later on here

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Your the best tell me the lotto numbers for wednesday

Agree1 Disagree4

I am not being funny, but my Labrador could have give you Kone and Alcatraz. As for McGeedy. we will see.

Agree1 Disagree1

Didn't need a crystal ball to predict kone or Alcaraz. I would have agreed with you on both of them. still don't think McGreedy joins.

Agree2 Disagree2

Why so lazy with the text speak? Is it too strenuous to type a few more letters?

Agree8 Disagree1

02 Jul 2013 17:27:32
Robinho to Santos, Honda to Milan.

Don't tell me I didn't warn youse, false hope.

Believable6 Unbelievable8

As you haven't given your name, we have no idea if you did warn us or not :-)

Agree7 Disagree1

I'll work on thinking of one if that's what you need Freddy, but I've frequently told everyone not to get their hopes up on Honda.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2013 16:52:48
Ed have you got rid of the 'view replies' buttons on the Rumours page? {Ed025's Note - i will check mate...but i dont think so..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Just for the picky, I forgot to sign in. That's my post.

Agree0 Disagree5

02 Jul 2013 16:26:09
Sinclair, Ince and Redmond are the next targets only one will sign of course. You heard anything ed Oscar 1878 {Ed025's Note - i cant see ince coming oscar..

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Hasn't Redmond signed for Norwich? tv reported this afternoon that we had registered an interest in Ince, despite BFC accepting a bid from Cardiff.

Agree1 Disagree2

03 Jul 2013 10:36:01
Ed0025: why can't you see Ince coming to us? {Ed025's Note - he was not very nice about us when he was with the reds, and for the money, there is a lot better out there fred..

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2013 16:23:55
Just seen Leighton Baines leaving estate agents in formby maybe putting his house up for sale

Believable1 Unbelievable12

Why would he need to put his house up for sale? Manchester is really far!

Agree4 Disagree1

I saw him as well. Shortly after a pig flew over my head!

Agree4 Disagree1

I imagine if you were sell in 2m pound house the estate agent would be coming to you, not chatting in the shop.

Agree4 Disagree1

Or maybe he's seeing what's available with the funds from his new deal BK is offering. ? (Fingers crossed!)

Agree1 Disagree1

Why would he move even if he was going to Man Utd? It is hardly Liverpool to London. In addition to how settle he always says he is in the area and how much family means to him.

Agree1 Disagree1

He wouldn't move, that's why Manchester United are the only team he would move to from us.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2013 16:04:58
Apparently is either between. Sinclair or Ince, Sinclair will most likely be a loan or a cheaper buy but Ince is preferred choice but more expensive and Liverpool have a percentage of the fee

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Hope its not Ince he has a terrible attitude. classic case of legend in his own lunchtime {Ed025's Note - isn,t he just..

Agree5 Disagree1

02 Jul 2013 15:44:18
Scott Sinclair season long loan very close.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Do you think that's with a view to buy if he's successful?

Kone to join Everton in next 24 hours, source-tv

Rich84

Believable10 Unbelievable2

I thought Alan Myers was our new Communications Director, but Dave Whelan seems to be making most of the Everton announcements of late ;-)

Agree7 Disagree1

Ha ha love it fred, its been over a week since the doddering arl f. rt was in the news he must of been turkeying.

What's all these rumours about Andy Holden can anyone shed any light on the thanks Slim

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Agree2 Disagree2

Where's he gone?
Where's it stated on the official website?

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Jul 2013 14:02:20
Ed, Are the rumours if us looking atTom Ince true or just speculation at the minute? {Ed025's Note - no truth whatsoever..

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I'd believe sky before Ed, we are interested. {Ed025's Note - we shall see..

Agree1 Disagree3

So your calling sky sport news liarer s then lol? {Ed025's Note - just mistaken mate..

Agree1 Disagree2

Haha can't believe this poster thinks tv always gets transfer news right
Cheeks

Agree2 Disagree2

Sly are saying Everton COULD be interested. Doesn't say we are. We could be, we couldn't be. It's hardly a concrete statement of interest is it? We could be interested in Messi, and probably are, doesn't mean we're going to sign him.

Agree3 Disagree1

To be fair to Ed, tv said we were intrest in Jack Butland a while ago when there was no intrest what so ever

Agree1 Disagree1

There's no smoke without fire: various parties - agents, some sections of the press (especially those close to managers), the ubiquitous "tv", etc. , will drip feed (or flood!) the media to serve their own needs.
Everton - like every other club - is "linked" with players and/or are "interested" in loads of players. That doesn't mean a bid has been made - let alone any deal agreed or any negotiation even started. That's my opinion anyway.

Agree1 Disagree1

Just look at the record, the Ed's on here get it right a damn sight more times than the sky or the rest of the press does.

And of course those having a punt with a betting company of the same name based on their information would just be a happy coincidence!

Agree1 Disagree1

Ed doesn't predict that much, or isn't even sure on a lot of matters. But he is usually spot on when his. tv will report on anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jul 2013 18:45:20
I've looked at hundreds of players including Messi if you want to start a new rumour. I think the whole of the Everton coaching squad have probably had a look at him too. Doesn't mean we are likely to sign him or Ince. I go with Ed0025 and his views.

Triggered kone release clause, expected to sign within 24 hours

Believable7 Unbelievable4

02 Jul 2013 12:47:50
Goalkeeper Joel Robles from Spain expected to be Martinez first signing for 1m
He had him on loan at Wigan and is a solid pair of hands

Believable10 Unbelievable5

I'd be surprised if this happens but would welcome him, I think he could be a top keeper.

I could be wrong but I'm sure he was number1 at athletico before he got injured

TJ

Agree4 Disagree2

Courtois no 1 at atletico
Fearon

Agree0 Disagree1

Is the OP making an educated guess or is this a rumour based on inside information?

Agree0 Disagree1

He did take over the #1 at Atletico for a few games. Sergio Asenjo got hurt, so he was first choice in the weeks between De Gea signing for Man United and Courtois coming in on loan.

Young, big frame (6'5"), and with potential. Could be a goer for the Telegraph's reported £600-650k. We need a backup keeper, and he did alright at the end of the season for Wigan.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Jul 2013 12:45:43
tv reporting that Everton could be in for Tom Ince, fee reportedly around the £8 million region.

Dixie 1878

Believable5 Unbelievable12

Between 35-50% of that will go to the RS as a sell on clause in his contract

Agree3 Disagree1

The dark side getting money from us from any Ince transfer would stick in my craw :- (

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Jul 2013 12:39:53
Sly ;Everton could be interested in Tom Ince

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Where?

Agree0 Disagree1

Hope not because if we ended up buying him he has a clause were the reds receive 50% from the transfer other 50% goes to blackpool.

Agree2 Disagree1

Sky even

Agree1 Disagree2

For 8. 5-9mil, rather not. Would rather take a chance at redmond for 2mil, than Ince for 9mil.

I really hope we stay away from England when doing transfer business, prices are inflated to ridiculous amounts, whereas abroad there are some bargains to be had.

Agree5 Disagree2

Theses a great change of landing Tom ince

Agree0 Disagree3

Hope your right. good young player

stewillow

Agree0 Disagree2

They get 25%, and they would get that whoever buys him, if he improves our team, don't give a dam, 8m = 2m, in todays football, small change.

Agree0 Disagree1

Heard Keving Phillips on talksport this morrning say he is better than Zaha at the moment.

Andy Holden Sacked. Big Dunc next?

Man Utd ramp up to 16mil for Baines (as predicted), he will definitely be in a Manchester United Shirt soon. BTW he was not at Finch Farm Yesterday. Read into that what you will.

And KONE on the Never Never. If we get him. Big IF!

Yes BAU at EFC,, Brings out the gloom and doom in me!

Believable4 Unbelievable15

Really do hate these negative posts. EFC players don't report back until later in the week, Martinez started yesterday, not players!

So that puts an end to your Baines theory.

Agree2 Disagree3

If Kone signs, it will be all the money up front. Wigan don't want him to go and don't have to sell, he's still got 2 years on his contract. Wigan are playing hard ball.

Agree2 Disagree2

He wasn't at FF because he was involved in internationals with England, so he gets a little longer, Biffy.

Agree3 Disagree2

Baines been at Glastonbury All weekend. poor guy probably had no darn sleep and catching up on it for a day.

Agree3 Disagree3

Baines has extra time off due to international duty earlier. Nothing insidious about that

Toffee ace.

Agree4 Disagree2

Ffs biffy lad, how depressing are you? joking apart a recent national survey concluded that out of all the cities in the UK scousers are the most pessimistic and view life through a half empty glass. not doing much to break that stereotype are we?
domo

Agree2 Disagree2

We on't sell him for 16 million. It will have to be a massive bid, over the 20. I'm guessing atleast 22.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2013 09:38:17
Big Dunc not gone to Utd has he?

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Big Dunc is our legend. Not ex-boss working team mate. Do not worry he will stay.

Agree5 Disagree2

He hates man u with a passion doesn't he?

Agree2 Disagree2

I love it how any pictures he is in from the last couple of weeks, everyone around him is wearing training gear with the new badge on and he is still wearing the old training gear with the old badge on

Agree3 Disagree3

02 Jul 2013 08:00:53
City fm have confirmed a fee of 6m agreed with wigan for Kone. I for one hope this deal collapses as he adds nothing we don't already have in the squad. Waste of 6mil.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

I don't think we have a goalscorer do we?

Agree2 Disagree1

That makes no sense. Kone scored more goals than Jelavic and Anichebe last season, so the tin itself will mean he brings something to the squad.

He knows Martinez, he knows the system he plays, he is very good at holding the ball up and allowing the likes of Mirallas, Pienaar and others to get forward and attack, and he has shown he can score in this league.

Personally, he would be our best striker at the club if he came.

Agree5 Disagree1

Silly comment, waste of money.

He is something we don't have, speed in the forward line, how many times did you see Seamus or Super Kev leg it up the other end and there was no one to cross too.

play Vellios? There is a reason he doesn't get a game, he is shat.

Agree4 Disagree1

I personally think it will put jelavic back to his scoring ways as well

Agree1 Disagree1

Jela has shown he can score in this league. It's not his fault Moyes plays all strikers as marathon runners instead of the main position they prefer - a striker.

Agree2 Disagree1

Hopefully move victor on for similar money so in effect costing us nothing to replace someone who couldn't hit a bulls arse with a banjo for someone who knows where the onion bag is.
makes sense to me

stewillow

Agree5 Disagree1

Goalscorer - let's calm down a bit here. He only scored 12?

Agree1 Disagree4

He scored 12 goals in a poor team that got relegated! How many would he score in a top 6 team? A lot more I suggest
Torbay Toffee

Agree4 Disagree1

Has anyone else actually seen him play for wigan, over range of games? I have and I have to say he is not the player that would improve on what we have alreadt got. he holds the ball up very well, however I believe big vic can already do this job and at a better rate. I have also seen him miss some golden opportunities in front of the goal, he played 90 mins in nearly every game and only scored 12 goal. i'm sorry but for a big chunk of budget and who other teams are recruiting he just is not quite good enough

Agree1 Disagree2

We need heads at the moment and he is no worse than a lot of prem strikers last season. we need players simple as.

Agree0 Disagree2

Huge step down from the likes of Negredo and Soldado that have been talked about coming

Agree2 Disagree3

I would usually agree keith but check the stats he covered no more ground than anyone, plus I doubt he was asked to do anything different from his first 6 months with us, he needs the competition and nobody has watched more of kone than RM, must see something in him

MikeDeBlue

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jul 2013 15:22:20
Lets just sell felli for 24 mill and buy a 20 mill striker simple.

Agree1 Disagree3

Yeah great idea. Look what Chelski got when they paid £50 million for Torres!

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Jul 2013 07:00:36
r m wants kone not for his goals but for the way he works the channels and holds the ball up while midfielders move up and then flood the box. to make this attacking style 3 5 2 then you need players like alcaraz and kone to make this system work. he also needs a very speedy winger and an old headed exp keeper as number 2. so he will buy 4 players. tp.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

If we play 352 that means baines has gone because there's no left back position

Agree0 Disagree1

Why would that mean baines has gone. He plays as a wing back! Honestly some people on here are clueless!

Agree3 Disagree0

No he pushes full backs up into midfield and wing positions he might even bring mcmannam in and everton get 25 per cent of his sell on value anyway so could get him for about 4 million. he gets his 5 in midfield by pushing defenders up into forward and midfield. positions. get ready for very high scoring games. this alcaraz is a defender ball playing midfielder its the barca way and when you lose the ball they have 40 seconds to get it back. which is also the way arsenal play. rollercoaster on way ha. tp.

Agree1 Disagree0

^maybe a defensive left mid?

Agree0 Disagree0

How good idea if Kone replace Felli at AMC.!

Agree0 Disagree1

Baines will be a left wing back he is 1 of the 5 across the middle, coleman will be right wing back.

Agree1 Disagree1

Left wingback?

Agree0 Disagree0

He plays more a 3-4-3 in my opinion with full backs

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you for real?? 3-5-2 means your playing with wing backs, the position that BAINES and COLEMAN were born for!
Le Smack

Agree1 Disagree0

Baines would slot into the left wingback position if he stays. Would release him forward even more, knowing he has the engine to get back into defensive positions also. Even though its a 3 5 2, in defensive positions it still look like a 5 3 2 based on the assigned roles to each player

Agree0 Disagree0

Poster 3 is right. clueless.

Martinez never plays 3-5-2, I have never seen Wigan play with 2 up front. He wil switch from a 3-4-3 to a 4-2-3-1 and that is it.

Alcaraz will be a great free signing for you, but Kone at 5-6M, do me a favour. Wigan are smiling all the way to the bank.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2013 06:50:35
Fellaini is off to arsenal!
Phil griff.

Believable10 Unbelievable12

Meeeerrhhhh. They are trying to buy Bender at the moment, why would they go back for Fellaini.

Keisuke Honda and Around Kone to be confirmed by the end of the week, maybe alcaraz too

Believable11 Unbelievable17

02 Jul 2013 01:35:11
this is the first day that most of the squad got back together. I hear that RM was not there, but they did the fitness tests and are seing him together tomorrow. only then will the dealing start. apparently he is bringing a few of his old back room team in, and that includes scouts so another week before we spend any money. not in the know but I think, Kone, Redmond and Honda will be it. i'm happy if we keep LB and Felli and ship a couple out to be replaced by Ross, Velo, Duffy and Lundstram.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

So that's its were is the number two keeper then?
