I wonder how much of these rumours about Allardyce, Dyche, Moyes and co, are actually red herrings allowed to sneak out by the board to take the scent off the actual manager/ s they are making contact with. I just cannot believe that Morishi is prepared to outlay so much money on players and a new stadium, just to employ managers who at best will keep us mid table with the odd venture into europe every decade, or am I deluded in my thoughts.

We don't do red herrings. At this rate we will be getting linked to Iain Dowie.

Go the whole high and get Alan Curbishley, Steve McLaren or Bob Bradley.

Everyone moaning about allardyce we desparately need him because we leak 3 goals a game and are going down ATM. He guarantees survival and then we can build from there by getting rid of the expensive rubbish Walsh and Koeman decided to bring in and add some real quality alongside the quality kids we have coming through.

I agree, desperate times need desperate measures. The way we've lost the confidence in the team is alarming. Our best player tonight was a 17 year old and embarrassed schneiderlen. I think this job is too big for Dyche and wouldn't be confident in a foreign big name, I wouldn't be surprised if big Sam came tomorrow.

As things stand even Ian Dowie wouldn’t take the job.

a manager will not solve efc's problems. doesn't matter who they bring in he will soon realise that the squad needs replacing. we have 7 or 8 young and good players, beyond that there is nothing at the club. how officials at our club haven't seen the obvious is beyond me, without singling out any particular players it has been disappointing since unsy took over. when he did vlasic started to look like he was settling in at the club under what has to be said difficult circumstances first thing he does is drop him. and plays more or less the same players out of positions, as koeman did. they say a definition of madness is to keep doing the same thing and expect things to work out differently. i don't know what i expected from unsy, tbh. i thought he would see that rooney can't play up front and maybe drop morgan or gana and play rooney there or sig use vlasic and cal, niasse as forwards which they are but, so far rooney now sig up front shows he doesn't understand the problems we have. all season our whole forward line has dropped into midfield so we have been pressured more and more as games have gone on and managers tactics and formations are the problem. not since gordon lee have i seen an everton side this lacking in everyway possible. we have to be careful what we do next bring in the wrong guy and nothing will change several of our first team players cannot and must not be allowed to be on the same pitch at the same time. rooney mid no sig sig mid no rooney. gana no morgan, morgan no gana, we are presenting ourselves as a team to be attacked cause eventually all these players drop way to deep into the same positions and no longer look like they can kick a ball, falling over themselves. its a shame that unsy didn't see this right off the bat and start playing 4 1 3 2 with cal kev and vlasic up front, rooney or sig with benni and macca or gana or morgan as for the defence your guess is as good as mine. i think its clear unsy is not the man for the job which is a shame but he isn't coping with the big players at the club cause he is doing exactly what koeman did. there is a small change in personnel, but it's only a tweek on what koeman was doing when every fan can see we need a more radical solution. its not rocket science if someone is doing they're job poorly or having a difficult time they need dropping, its a football club. i am having a hard time believing we don't have any good defenders in our under 23 side that won prem 2 last year, surely a player who wins things and is hungry for a chance has to be better than what we put out. like i say shame unsy never got the point maybe we could be the first club of a reality tv show . the "ramsey esque" premier club nightmare where alex ferguson can go round clubs and watch games and they say "yeh you have problems. mainly your just sh*t. all joking aside things aren't as dire as they appear we need a manager who doesn't care what the under 23's are doing and wants to take them players from there and use them in the first team squad and one who watches games and can see what we all see and hopefully brings in the right players cause cal vlsaic and kev will be better off when we can defend and push out a bit.

{Ed025's Note - really good read that floats mate..

The team look woeful.
Reminds me of aston villa when they went down.
I wasnt even this worried during our last 2 flirts with relegation.
If we are in the bottom 3 at xmas i really can't see us escaping.
Im not using that boring whos top and whos bottom at xmas blah blah blah line, i just feel that by then if we are still adrift the players will be absolutely finished mentally.

Leicester was our worst performance all season.
They are not responding to any change in personel or tactics.
I would recall dowell, play lookman and baningime more and put more of the u23s in and hopefully get rid of some in jan and then pay massively for a decent forward.
Clubs will sell for stupid money and before the moaning about inflated prices just picture a goal scorer coming in and saving the season or don't pay silly money and get yaself an A-Z for our 1st season in the championship.

I strongly believe we would struggle in the championship so a quick return would not be on the cards. l.

Normally I would agree about clubs around xmas being worried but not me, by then we should have Coleman, Bolasie and Funes Mori back, a new transfer window open and a chance to sort the defence and striker issue out.

Other clubs have had tough starts like Everton, but each of those have a recognised striker on their books and no long term injuries like the above three and McCarthy.

If we can get the above 4 back in and bring a couple of strikers in, possibly give Garbutt a run out and we should be fine.

Our downfall was playing too many new faces too soon and against the big boys.
