Honda said he will know were he will be playing by end of july or early august so I think this will drag out a bit longer.

Surely mauro Zarate who is now a free transfer is worth a punt?

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Isn't he the racist that did the nazi salute? Don't want him anywhere near our club.

Agree4 Disagree9

That was katidis, the Greek one Zarate is an argey

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm also a Lazio fan and would be happy to see him make a move here. Far from the finished product as he is inconsistent, selfish and has a questionable personality, but he would offer even more skill and speed on the wings.

When are we expecting Kone & Alcaraz announcement? {Ed025's Note - end of the week is my guess..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

When you say end Ed is that in reference to the end of the weekend or the end of the working week as in Friday? {Ed025's Note - sunday is regarded as the end of the week...

Agree0 Disagree1

Hasn't it already been announced? I'm sure that famous Everton spokesman Dave "I broke my leg" Whelan already announced it?
Dave M

Agree3 Disagree0

Hopefully by the end of never as these two are not good enough for our great club. is this champs league quality MR Kenwright?

Agree4 Disagree7

03 Jul 2013 23:02:17
Yes it is kenwrights fault that kone and alcaraz are wanted by martinez? It is kenwrights fault kone has a release clause give the guy a break oh btw just banged my toe on the floor thanks kenwright

Agree3 Disagree0

Blue blood mate. But I'm entitled to an opinion especially after shelling out on my season ticket. Again, these players are not good enough. Just my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree2

Im torn here, do we blame Kenwright for appointing a manager who isn't good enough or Martinez for wanting to sign players who aren't good enough? Either way the only thing we as supporters can do is get behind the 11 on the pitch because one things for sure, its not their fault

just heard off a mate in spain that goalkeeper Joel Robles, will be coming over to sign in the next couple of weeks. be good to give Tim Howard some competion.

Believable12 Unbelievable0

If we can get him at a good price, reported around £1m what a signing that will be. Great potential

Agree3 Disagree0

Another wigan player. They were relegated. We don't need these players and their backroom staff!

Mark Hughes as manager?! I respect your opinion buddy but I'd rather have Yosser Hughes, He's a tornado and would destroy the team spirit. I'm not an RM fan at all, but he's better than MH.

Agree5 Disagree0

Ha you wish we had hughes as a manager? will you still feel the same when stoke are relegated at the end of the season?

neither baines or fellaini will leave this season mark my words. We have 15 million to spend 6.5 million to be spent on kone, alcaraz to come in on a free and 8m to be spent on tom ince. Trust me on this one. Meaning the team could look something like this

GK-Howard
RB-Coleman
CB-Jags
CB-Distin
LB-Baines
CDM-Gibson
CDM-Fellaini
RM-Ince/Mirallas
LM-Pienaar
CF/CAM- Mirallas/Barkley
ST-Kone
ST-Jelavic

Thoughts Ed? {Ed025's Note - cant see ince coming mate..

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Looks a strong line up and with 12 players starting we'll walk the league

Agree11 Disagree2

We might even win the league if we can pick that 12 man team.
RickTee

Agree6 Disagree1

Why would we buy Kone for 6.5m when he has a 5m buyout?

Agree6 Disagree0

Where's the back up GK?

Howard is aging and needs the comp for his place

we need to actually spend money on his back up this time instead of the freebies that just haven't cut it {Ed025's Note - bob will sort it mate..

Agree3 Disagree1

RM has said we will bring in a player for the 4 areas, meaning a keeper in, defender in, midfielder in and a striker in, plus more

Agree2 Disagree0

I posted this. If once comes mortals would be cf if not miss rm and Barkley cf/cam sorry for the confusion

Agree0 Disagree0

And just because he is signing four players doesn't mean they would start. Once and Kobe would mid and striker. Joel Robles and Alcaraz would be bench there's 4 players. R positions

Agree0 Disagree0

Would you be happy with that team ed {Ed025's Note - i would like to see honda in there..

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jul 2013 19:25:22
Ed any truth in this bony rumour would love it to be true he looks quality. {Ed025's Note - if we sign kone stef, then it looks unlikely mate

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Ye I would say your right ed. i'm happy with Kone though he is a good signing.

Agree2 Disagree3

I'd rather we take a chance on a player other than an average, overpriced journeyman called Arouna Kone.

Agree8 Disagree3

I'm not happy with Arouna TBH, I think he'll suffer from SSS!
Second Season Syndrome

Just heard that Garbutt is off on loan to Reading and that Barkley is off to Hull on a season long loan. Really hope this isn't true and I don't think it will be as I think RM will give Barkley more chances next season. Have you heard anything regarding this Ed? {Ed025's Note - no joe..and think it is unlikely mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable10

Good thing is garbutt has just signed a new 2 year contract, send him out on loan for a season, we have back up in oviedo for LB

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Jul 2013 01:56:49
It wouldn't be a bad choice though IF it meant he got game time every week and we could recall him if necessary. I'd love to see Barkley play every week of the season but given how short our squad is, I can't see Everton letting him go. Last seasn he needed a loan like that. He proved towards the end of the season he's good enough to play in the Prem, he needs game time so he can develop consistency.

Bony close to Everton move

Believable5 Unbelievable13

I cannot find anything on this. Where did you hear it mate? I think a 10mill plus striker who can score 20 goals a season is just what we need. If he is getting Kone in too then it might spell the end for maybe vellios, anichebe and/or Naismith. My 4 strikers would be Jelavic, Kone, Bony and Mirralas.

Agree5 Disagree0

And were have you heard this

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha never going to happen let's be realistic. were going to sign kone not bony. Alcaraz will come in but heitinga won't depart because no club that could pay heitinga the wage he wants would want to sign a defender as unreliable and as totally useless as heitinga (do you agree ed) blueboy96 {Ed025's Note - im not johnnys biggest fan mate..

Agree4 Disagree0

Isn't it funny those blues who point to Kone giving Everton's defence a torrid time last season as the reason to sign him. but who was marking him? Heitinga. ha ha

Agree7 Disagree0

Heitinga is decent in the dutch league, shows how terrible their league is, let him have his wish and send him back there

I wouldn't get excited over a Deulofeu loan, not because I am negative but because Barca would almost definitely loan him to a spanish/portugese club

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Hazza and fellow-Blues: according to today's El Mundo Deportivo in Barcelona, Deulofeu has a straight choice between us and Spurs; Barca want him to play in a really competitive league, and the player will decide when he returns from the under-20 tournament in Turkey. I think Martinez being manager might be a point in our favour. Fingers crossed because he's a s***-hot player, just has to learn not to dribble quite so much and be a bit more direct

Agree3 Disagree2

According to the news on this deal, Barca want him to play in EPL. The 2 most likely spots are Spurs or Everton. I'd give e Everton the edge as he'd have more of a chance to play, Spanish coach, and probably a system he could fit into more easily. As Ed said, why not us?

Agree2 Disagree0

Roberto Martinez is actually Catalan mate. deulofeu is Catalan too. They speak catalan and that is a point in our favor to be honest

Just a quiery, (BTW I would love baines to stay and probably expect him to as he wants to play regular footy, but more importantly be one of the main cogs in a team that works, rather than play for united where he may be outshone and become another player rather than their star. ) Will you cover my mortgage payments if I do put a bet on and he decides to go to Utd? CraigHuytonBlue (p. s the mortgage payments are £630 per month if this would have any swaying decision in the matter?!)

Everton and Arsenal are both interested in Malanda.

Everton want him to replace Fellaini if he goes to Arsenal. Arsenal want him if they don't get Fellaini from Arsenal.

He's 18 and a defensive midfielder. This shows that Martinez intends on playing Fellaini (if he stays) where he belongs: holding the midfield. I'm assuming this means we'll have a Kone + Anichebe/Jelavic front two, or maybe even have Mirallas as the CF, which means we'll be getting a proper right mid. Fingers crossed!

Believable6 Unbelievable3

How does this show he intends to play Fellaini deeper?

Agree2 Disagree5

Because we're interested in a defensive midfielder to replace Fellaini. If he's replacing Fellaini, it means Fellaini will be played as a defensive midfielder if he isn't sold. I can't make it any clearer.

Agree2 Disagree2

Antolin Alcaraz & Arouna Kone deals are both done. Will be confirmed within the next 48hours. Alcaraz is a good signing for free but Kone is a waste of money and doesn't help our ageing squad. He's 30 in November and just an average player in a very poor squad at Wigan (Not good enough for us). I would of rather taken a chance on Bent for the same money. Redmond has signed for Norwich and we've missed out on Honda FACT! Don't even get me started on Nathan Dyre, average at best and won't be signing for Everton. Baines to go Utd & Fellaini to Arsenal are done deals too. Another shocking transfer market, if we pin our hopes on Fer who is crocked & a kid on loan we have no hope of Europe. Trist-an-shout

Believable6 Unbelievable9

03 Jul 2013 12:16:41
What absolute dribble, Kone will improve the squad, who would you prefer Vellios, Victor? thought not. Kone gives us speed, something that we haven't had for years.

Sick of hearing aging squad blah blah blah, we need people who can perform now not maybe's like Gueye and Vellios, they have been good buys haven't they. er no!

PeterB5875

Agree5 Disagree2

But, other than that you're happy?! Never heard of the word? Look it up in a dictionary & give it a try!

Agree2 Disagree0

I love a bit of positivity before a new season. Especially as the transfer window only opened 2 days ago. Maybe Felli and Baines will go but maybe Martinez will spend that cash well.

Agree1 Disagree1

Agreed. Two average players. Not befitting of a top six team. Get a grip blues. Martinez is dragging standards down. Very poor.

Agree4 Disagree6

You do realise Bent is the same age as Koné, on more money and in terrible form?

Agree6 Disagree1

Peter, how can you say thought not to "Would you prefer Vellios?". Everyone knows Vellios hasn't been given a fair chance. And he's only 20.

Whenever I have seen him play he always gives me the "I like him" thought.

I understand what you're saying about Vic, but not Vellios as under Moyes he got 1 or two consecutive sub appearances then was cast out for the rest of the season even though he made a difference.

I mean that overhead kick he attempted vs Spurs, I don't know any Everton player who would attempt that. Vellios has a different feel and look to him over normal players. And without that attempted overhead kick, the Spurs defenders would no doubt have got it cleared, but the overhead kick gave the Spurs players an unexpected twist. Normally, we would have tried to control it with our backs to goal and take it from their.

Give the guy a chance. He's 20, has the potential to be a really good player, and has already shown that potential.

What do you think about Vellios, Ed?

Agree3 Disagree1

Translation of FACT on this site- "I have no source, and no inside knowledge, but I really think I know football"

Agree5 Disagree2

In all fairness he did say FACT!

Kone bullied our defence in the FA Cup at Goodison if you remember. Don't get me wrong, i'd love a young, fast, goal scorer who's experienced, however they don't exist, for £5m.

Looking at our strike force though, i'm quite optimistic. Victor (Strong, Powerful and his work rate last season was impressive), Jelevic (don't care what anyone says you don't loose your touch overnight, he'll be great next seasons especially with Mr M's style of play) and finally (TBC) Kone (fast, strong and knows where the goal is. )

Stop moaning, buy a season ticket and support your bloody club!

DiscoDave

Agree5 Disagree3

I freaking hate all the posters that say "FACT". its never fact until its confirmed so cut this out

Agree0 Disagree2

Yet another clueless Everton fan who has no idea what they are talking about.

Agree0 Disagree3

03 Jul 2013 14:58:50
Vellios has hardly been given a chance and when he has he's done okay.

Agree4 Disagree0

Fp bore off and go and support somebody else, get behind the new regime! #welcomeroberto

Agree2 Disagree1

Bent is a very lazy player and doesn't offer anything apart from goals. Kone may not be as prolific but has many more strings to his bow than Bent. If Kone joins I'm very optimistic he'd score 15+ and work hard for the cause. His all-round game is streets ahead of Bent.

Agree3 Disagree1

Vellios always seemed to deliver when he got a chance

Agree3 Disagree0

Some people just can't get of vics back. He had a good season last year. Try being supportive fans

Agree3 Disagree1

03 Jul 2013 10:48:28
Not ITK at all, but have heard from colleagues who support Utd that Moyes is open to a swap deal involving Baines and Rooney. Rooney is looking to make amends to Evertonians and will take a huge pay cut to see out his time at Goodison. Only sticking point is Baines is not fussed about going the other way. can't say I blame him! As I say, not in the know, purely rumours from Utd supporters.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

I think it's true Rooney will pick us over London any day of te week wonder if kenwright and his clowns old find te money

Agree4 Disagree3

03 Jul 2013 12:09:28
pure and simple there is no way we can afford, I can't beileve poeple can even think its a possibility, he costs minimum 20mil before any wages, agent fees e. t. c, its never happening.

also he was a better player when he left us I honestly think his better days are behind him because he matured so early, more of a luxury buy than to add world class.

MikeDeBlue

Agree2 Disagree1

Rooney will only go were he gets a million a month. London/New York/Spain does not come into it. We may get him back at 34 when were looking to get out the Championship the way things are going here!

Agree3 Disagree5

We wouldn't be buying Kone if Rooney was coming back here.

Agree3 Disagree4

Rooney has only Asked to leave (again) so they give him another huge contract to stay (again). He won't take a pay cut.

Deulofeu coming to Everton on Loan watch this space

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Class player. But would undoubtedly make the 1st team players fume, if he started playing ahead of them. Absolutely tore Spurs a new one when he played against them for Barca.

Next big thing for the Catalans.

Agree3 Disagree2

That lad can play on the wing or the centre. that being the case why would they loan him out AND buy Honda? That does nt make sense to me. bluejay

He's not coming to Everton, that's what's going on.

Agree2 Disagree1

Pay to watch a fella who is average and still sports bleached blonde hair. Er no thanks. I've got a season ticket but I still demand to watch the best. Kone and alcaraz ARE poor second rate players. Kone even stated he would join palace. He is not an everton standard player. {Ed025's Note - you should support your players whoever they are...im sure you were saying the same about gibbo...and look how he turned out..

Agree2 Disagree1

He's been offered practically on a plate by his representatives, however Everton as usual are wanting to pay in instalments.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed - most of us watched Brett Angell and supported him in the blue shirt but we have made progress as a club since those days and for me, Kone is not progress so apologies for not coming out of my skin with excitement! {Ed025's Note - brett never played for the likes of PSV, or sevilla though mate..

Agree1 Disagree0

Best option mentioned of all the dribbling wingers we have been linked with (McGeady, McManaman, Sinclair). We need players that can beat their man 1v1 to beat the bottom half teams who come to park the bus.
