Spoke to one of baines family members and the only way baines will leave will be because everton want to cash in on him. Baines is more than happy to stay coyb!

BlueJimmy

Believable21 Unbelievable7

Leighton Baines will remain playing for Everton without a doubt, Goodison Park simply wouldn't be the same if that Beatles love child wasn't there.

Still expect Kone and Alcaraz in by the end of the week Ed? And what do you make of Newcastle beginning talks with Kone? {Ed025's Note - i do mate, according to newcastle..they are signing uncle tom cobbley and all..

Believable9 Unbelievable5

04 Jul 2013 22:32:43
newcastle local rags are reporting the deals done

Agree0 Disagree1

Thought it was uncle tom cobley doing the signings at newcastle now

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle Chronicle says they won't proceed with the deal because he doesn't fit their 'blueprint' ie. young and with a potential resale value. Makes you wonder why they wanted to talk to him in the first place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats Newcastles way of trying to save face after Kone's given them the cold shoulder, he's coming here and he'll do alright for us (a slightly more dangerous andy johnson type which will allow Jela to stay in the middle and find where the net is again).

everton and norwich to battle for leeroy fer

Believable11 Unbelievable24

A week late on that one. Been on your holiday?.

Agree0 Disagree2

It'll be interesting to see if either Everton or Norwich have Leeroy playing for them on 17 of August. COYB.

arteta could be on the cards for Everton

Believable1 Unbelievable40

No he's not

Agree5 Disagree2

Wouldn't want him back after the way he acted {Ed025's Note - i would have him back tomorrow..

Same here Ed

Best little Spaniard we all know

Degsy

Agree1 Disagree2

Move on people! We need younger players, we've got an ageing squad.

Agree3 Disagree0

Awful in his final season for us. Too old. Overpriced. Thanks but no thanks.

Agree2 Disagree0

Wouldn't pay half as much as we sold him for tho

Agree3 Disagree0

Why would he come back when he left to play in the champs league?

Agree1 Disagree0

He was statistically the best performing centre mid in the league last season. He is a very good player but not one we need and not one the Arse would be remotely interested in selling. Don't know who fabricated this rumour, but its rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love him, but Arsenal would not sell him, not for a worthwhile price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could see him back not this season and it would depend how much arsenal want

Are we in the running for gerard deulofeu? {Ed025's Note - he has been mentioned..

Believable14 Unbelievable11

Apparently he has the choice between us and Spurs, can see us giving him more 1st team football.

Agree5 Disagree1

More chance of gerard depardieu.
at least he has a green card lol

Baines will stay, & that's that, he's everton through & through & on 75k a week will be quite content. so would I come to think of it!

Believable22 Unbelievable8

I agree he's more than happy with us

Agree3 Disagree3

Don't kid yourselves, he's as good as gone

i think kone, alcaraz and the over non good players is a smoke screen for martinez to bring in some bargain good players when the other teams has picked up the crap.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

Why do people seem to think every possible signing is a smoke screen for something better? Get real there's obviously something in the story of alcaraz an kone

Hey guys I'm a Geordie and just rumours up here are kone has agreed terms and should sign in the next 24hours. I'm not overly happy with this, I must admit I think you've just got lucky. Charlie

Believable14 Unbelievable10

No he hasn't. He is in advanced talks with Everton. Every team that have been linked with him so far have no chance of signing him as long as we are in for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2013 17:27:35
Am I the only evertonian out there who rates Magaye Gueye?

Believable18 Unbelievable6

Nope, I think the lad is alright! Hasn't been given the chance to show his ability and I'd like to see how he'd do under Martinez.

Agree3 Disagree4

04 Jul 2013 20:42:32
Yeah, he's absolutely useless

Agree3 Disagree4

04 Jul 2013 20:47:18
Yes yes you are

Agree2 Disagree3

No I rate him too PKBLUE

Agree4 Disagree2

04 Jul 2013 20:50:05
Yes I would say so. Disappears very easily. Sunderland away was his everton highlight

Agree3 Disagree2

He simply isn't good enough for the Prem. Championship level at best.

Agree2 Disagree2

Well he did have a mr moyes play him on wing when i'm positive he was a striker/cf when he joined, just like naismith and occasionally anichebe.

Agree1 Disagree1

Give him a season I say

Agree1 Disagree2

He may have the talent but I don't think he's got the mental attributes. He seems to freeze when given an opportunity. Still young so he may yet turn out ok, but I can't see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Slow, weak and can't dribble. Yes, you are in the minority who rate him. Got a powerful strike on him, though.

Agree0 Disagree0

In real life? Yes, on fm? Decent

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2013 01:29:37
Decent on FM? He's amazing!
Play him on the left in 4-2-3-1 formation. Scores for fun and loads of assists. Player of the year in Everton's domestic double and Champions League winning season.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2013 02:13:02
He's clumsy he can't keep the ball. The only reason why the kids still here is because he gives unreal effort, but no class. Get rid

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh good lord. we've resorted to saying how good our players are on Footy Manager.

Kill me now!

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is so one footed.
Everton got him in the hope we could train him to use both foot but he hasn't come on as much as hoped. This is why he doesn't play.
When he learns he can kick with both feet he will be a great player. Until then.
Phil the Blue

Agree0 Disagree0

I think like most young players at the club (vellios, barkley, duffy)he hasn't been given a fair chance under moyes.

Another mystery EPL club in for David Villa
Could it be EFC?

Believable3 Unbelievable15

It's Spurs I think

Agree1 Disagree1

Could it be? Yes.

Will it be? No.

Agree1 Disagree3

Not a chance

Agree2 Disagree0

A spanish news paper reports that Barcelona are preparing a £21 million bid plus David Villa for Wayne Rooney.

Agree1 Disagree2

Why are people stupid if can't afford Redmond, kone how we going to pay for villa more chance of Ricky villa

Agree1 Disagree0

If it is half the people on here won't want him because the think 29 is too old let alone a 31 year old.
RickTee

Agree0 Disagree0

You'd more than likely expect David Villa to play for Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspurs. Everybody knows that he'd only be involved with clubs who constantly play in Europe.

Agree1 Disagree1

There's a big difference between David Villa and Arouna Koné, it's not that 29 is too old, it's just too much to pay for an average 29-year old.

Nathan Redmond has signed for Norwich. Can't even sign someone who has publicly stated he wants to sign for us. Well played, board. {Ed025's Note - i wanted everton to sign me but they did,nt..boo hoo..

Believable8 Unbelievable5

04 Jul 2013 17:12:57
Me too! Haha . boss reply that Ed!

Agree2 Disagree2

What is it with Everton looks like different manager same game really is tough being a Toffee

Agree1 Disagree1

You can't use my own response against me ;) But still, this is a player we should have gone for.

Agree1 Disagree1

Some of our fans see us as really big club who should be competing with top clubs, but then cry when we don't sign a player who signs for Norwich, so what are we a big club or the same size as Norwich as i'm confused by the reaction of some of our fans. Mike S

Agree1 Disagree0

Just because he says he wanted to come doesn't mean we wanted to buy him

Agree1 Disagree0

Just because a player wants to join doesn't make a transfer viable does it? If he was as good as people make out then he would have signed for a bigger club than Norwich. I'd rather we look to our own youth system and promote a player or two rather than waste cash bringing in younger players. The like of Barkley and possibly George Green are more than good enough to step up.
Great reply Ed!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike S, you're spot on mate. Too many posters saying, "Boo hoo, we're only after championship players. "
and then, "Boo hoo, a championship player didn't sign for us. "
Make your minds up please people.

EFCWhitesocks

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Redmond would have been a good investment few year down line we could have tripled his value. look how much you get for young english players nowdays. even if their useless like Jordan Henderson.

Santa Cruz on a free? I'd take that all day any 1 els?

Believable2 Unbelievable12

I would if he had low wages

Agree0 Disagree0

Again, NO!

Agree1 Disagree0

Sooner go on a cruise mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

No, spends more time on the treatment table so would be too much of a gamble

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance, he has an awful scoring record apart from one good season at Blackburn. He would probably want a hefty salary as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's almost as bad as signing Bendtner (don't have a clue how to spell it)

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2013 14:50:21
sorry no honda, no kone no signings, baines & felleini out that's how it is lump it & move on, anichibe our main striker efc forever now print this! {Ed025's Note - is that you mystic meg?..

Believable5 Unbelievable14

Ed. we know it still early but even you must understand it always seem to be us who leave it last minute. hope billy blue nose opens his wallet soon. what has happend to the 2 players we were persuing when bill was interviewed. {Ed025's Note - im with you mate, we do need to get a rattle on..

Agree4 Disagree1

"Watch this space"?

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, we do always seem seriously lacking when it comes to buying players. Even down to the Fer fiasco, break it on the os then he fails a medical. Only at Everton. Bungling board who couldn't sign themselves on the dole

Agree0 Disagree0

It sounds more like Meg's sister Septic Peg to me Ed.

what are the chances of signing rooney back ed?
i think he wants it himself to be honest.

JKellyEFC {Ed025's Note - not very good mate..

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Please please PLEASE stop with the signing Rooney, it's never going to happen, not in a zillion years will it happen. We probably don't have the funds to pay his agent never mind the fee and his wages. Seriously lads (and lasses) we will not be signing Rooney there is more chance of me getting a game and I hung my boots up 10 years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eds right it's nothing more than pipe dream come on every 1 out there knows this

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2013 21:04:09
you have made my day, I wouldn't have known who else to support if that spoilt brat would have re signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2013 11:41:50
I heard a rumour last night that Everton want Ince and are confident he would come but are not sure about the deal as Liverpool will get a percentage of the fee and supporters will be up in arms. I say buy Ince he will improve our team. Thomas Paul

Believable4 Unbelievable9

For me the lad is 21 and has never played at the highest level. He is and will but too much of a risk with the amount of money they are talking about for him. if we sign him, he'll do the dirty on us in the end and one day join the reds anyway

Agree1 Disagree2

I don't think that's relevant

Agree1 Disagree1

Ince would be a good signing young and can only get better. newcastle given permision to speak to kone (tv).

Agree3 Disagree2

He is a good player, he seems to have a big time charlie attitude already though which could be his downfall joey barton esk. but if we can get that out of him great scores a few and a decent engine

ps if liverpool benefit from us sound diligaf

Agree1 Disagree0

We are not going to not buy a player because Liverpool will get some of the fee! If the player is right and he can be acquired by the right price, it doesn't matter!

Agree1 Disagree0

What so we would not buy a player just because Liverpool would get some how petty are you

Agree1 Disagree2

Get Redmond in instead, just as good and a fraction of the price! Personally can't see the nice rumours being true anyway!

Agree0 Disagree0

EFC pay £8m
LFC will get £4m of that

Agree1 Disagree0

Redmond has gone to Norwich

Agree1 Disagree0

8m for Ince is ridiculous, we would buy 4 young spainish lad for that. English players so overrated

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jul 2013 01:35:29
The Kone deal is not certain. He wants to play for us, but Martinez is attempting to land a better striker. There are a few candidates, and if we fail to land one of them, then Martinez will get Kone. Furthermore, if Anichibe or Jelavic left for some reason or other, he would be their replacement. Alcaraz will not be the only CB signed this season. Martinez has not intention of getting Ince becausehe is not the right character. A loan deal is looking likely in regards to a winger. Martinez has a few cards close to his chest in regards to CM but Honda is on the shortlist as it is a great oppurtunity to land a great player on the cheap. Fer is also being considered if Martinez fails in other bids. Robles is the most likely goalkeeper to be signed.

Believable10 Unbelievable5

If RM. want better striker must be hurry up. I wonder so far Kone is main topic. Even well understand RM. tactic but too old for 5 m.

Agree2 Disagree2

04 Jul 2013 11:32:27
all guess work I take it?

Agree2 Disagree1

Why do people keep saying £5m is too much for a 29 year old? Distin cost us £5m and was 31! it's all about the player's ability to keep themselves in shape, and Kone looks like he will probably do that. I expect we'd get 3-5 good years out of him which would do me nicely for 5m

Agree2 Disagree1

Kone given permission to talk to Newcastle! (BBC)

Lee

Agree2 Disagree1

(original poster) The Kone deal could have been completed ages ago, but is being put on hold. That is certain. He is a good back-up plan as RM knows him and knows how to use him. He is also right for his style of play. We are considering fer, but the lack complete solid interest combined with the fact he is a more DM sort of player, he is considered as a back-up to his plans. He makes for a good back-up as he is a good player and has expressed his desire to move to us. RM has reiterated that he wants the right characters, which means a move for Ince is highly unlikely and I think most would baulk at his price tag. RM is considering moving in for another CB, but it is dependant on a wide variety of things. The other deals will represent a large expenditure which will mean that we will have to make a loan move or even two. The most likely loanee position at the moment would be a winger, to add competition and depth. I believe, that Martinez will surprise most people with a CM, although that is just pure personal opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont need him anyway too old

Agree1 Disagree1

Message to joe kinnear. please get his name right.

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you think about what the original poster has put Ed? {Ed025's Note - a lot of it sounds feasible, but i still expect kone to sign..

Heard a strange one to-day, this guy does pick up some real stuff, a swap deal, NAYSMITH for CHARLIE ADEM, but if you think about it mh prefers graft to craft, rm prefers craft to graft, so, may be something in it.
