not everton related I know but just a thought regarding penalties, players an x-players always say pick a spot and stik with it but the walk from the half way gives you time to have second thoughts resulting in nerves and stress, well hows about the manager tells you to go bottom left, right, down middle etc. this way you know were to go! there no second thoughts as you know were you have to hit it resulting in more focus on hitting your target?

Matt Le Tissier says he would start off going bottom right unless he saw keeper moving that way before he kicked it and then he would just wrap his foot a little further round the ball and send it bottom left instead - so top takers will react to the keeper moving as well.

Manchester City have reportedly considered making a bid for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
The 20-year-old made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees last season, scoring By Sian Cowper, Reporter
seven goals on his way to securing a place in Roy Hodgson's World Cup squad.
According to The Mirror, the Premier League champions are weighing up a £25m bid for the England international, potentially offering Jack Rodwell as part of the deal.
Rodwell, who left Goodison Park in 2012, is thought to be keen to return to Everton after struggling to secure a regular place in the Man City team.

Lazy Journalism. If Lallana is worth £25m and Shaw is worth £30m+ then Barkley is worth an easy £50m or more.

I don't think it's about what he's worth, he simply won't be sold, he's part of our future, let the red s***e be the selling club now

Hot off the press. Lukaku has apparently said: I am absolutely convinced that moving to Everton was the best step in my career. When you feel everything is working out, it makes you so relaxed and happy as a player in big matches. I have a contract with Chelsea after this summer and I am not focusing on any move to Atletico.
Read into that what you want.

We all hope he does want to come back here and we can afford to make it happen. But, sadly I cannot see it. I think we will be priced out of it. I hope I am wrong though

BK often says he has a very good relationship with chelsea, let's wait and see.

The way I read what Lukaku is reported as saying, is that the time spent at Everton was just a "step" in his career. If we'd qualified for the Champions League - and were prepared (and able!) to pay what it would take - then he might have joined permanently - but that looks highly unlikely at present. On the other hand, he might just decide that we're really what's best for him career-wise. ;-)

He has some big holes in his game - decision making around the box - which are not top top quality - so Jose will not make him their number 1 player = unhappy bunny on the bench

Romelu Lukaku has revealed he has an opportunity to ‘stay at Everton’, a possibility he’ll explore after he spends some time in Belgium.
Speaking after Belgium’s elimination from the World Cup, the striker spoke of a transfer to Everton being a possibility.
Lukaku: “I have the opportunity to stay at Everton, it is a possibility and it is something we will have to talk about. But first I want to go back to Belgium, see my family and get some rest, ”
taken from a fan site today, I hope he does sign as the lad will only get better under the tutelage of Bobby. It's easy to forget he is only a young lad, the finished article will be immense

The Mccarthy to arsenal deal is still in its early stages. If all goes to plan from an Arsenal point of view then James Mccarthy could be in an arsenal shirt before the gunners travel to America on their pre-seaso tour. Nothing is agreed or in concrete but my estimate would be around £19 million.

It was 24m last week, is his girlfriend suffering from memory loss or something? Is this becky gorman? Or are you another one of those itk people that aren't itk they just enjoy winding people up, if mccarthy is an arsenal player at any point in his career I will build a shrine for you and have your name tattooed on every inch of my body and vertically on my manhood, deal?

After one year there is no reason for Mccarthy to go anywhere, we don't need the money and in Martinez I think Mccarthy has a manager he trusts. So I don't see him going unless he's offered a huge contract which I don't see being offered.
