Hi Eds,

Not sure that you have any measurement for this, as I know you don't like making statements without real evidence to back it up.

Is there anyone that we are seriously interested in and that we are going to make a strong move for?

Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - as im sure you know JMW things can change on almost a daily basis as targets get snatched up by others, at the moment most players and agents will be on holiday so there will be an uncertainty at this moment in time, the official window does not open until july1st even though pre-contract agreements can be completed, ED002 is really busy at the moment but im hoping he will have some time to do a podcast or inform us of some concrete targets very shortly mate, at the moment most of it is just speculation..

No worries at all Ed, appreciate the response as always mate.

Im just fed up reading the rags and seeing a different player linked every day, was wondering if you or the other Ed's had any info on real targets but i will wait for ED002's podcast.

Cheers again mate.

Have we ever tabled a bid for Dendoncker? Seen a report that says we bid £15m.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - not that i am aware of ST..

04 Jun 2017 20:29:09
The report states we bid £15m but their chairman states they don't want to sell, probably have another team circling and using us to up the price.

Eds I read a report that Kenwright is due to step in with a new offer to Barkley to entice him to stay, any truth in that or murmurings?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - i have heard similar ST but how true it is i dont know, if he does though it will undermine koemans authority and i think he would walk mate..

04 Jun 2017 07:50:15
Had a similar thought myself, part of me wants Barkley to remain but it's a very tricky scenario to navigate now.

Do you really think he could walk mare.

Wants a manager gets undermined it's time to walk. Unless youv'e got no back bone and your'e a yes man. I could see Koeman doing exactly that walking away if it where to happen.

Why would the manager get involved anyway. If he's offered a contract extension it means they want him to stay. If the board increase the offer and he stays doesn't that meet the same ends. Why would RK feel he's been undermined by that? I think it's tabloid stirring myself.

Toffee Ace don't understand your logic at all.
If you were a manager of anything and you gave someone an ultimatum and they turned you down I don't think you would be a happy bunny if you chief executive over tuned you you would have little option but resign
Same applies with Ron
Also I will be so angry if it is true who wants a player you have to beg to stay NOT ME.

Does anyone know what exactly Barkley has been offered though? I know a lot is probably tabloid stirring? Koeman won't deal with the contracts so maybe there was something Barkley wasn't happy with and instead of airing in public it's being dealt with behind the scenes?

{Ed025's Note - it will be his agent playing the game ST, he will be convincing ross that he is the best thing since sliced bread and that he should be one of the top earners in the league and nice but dim is buying it hook line and sinker..

04 Jun 2017 15:09:13
Which is a shame if the case, unfortunately a lot of these agents are less advisors and more just look to line their pockets.

Trebor, I can't comment on your point as manager of anything as its too general, although I am a general manager by occupation so can agree that a superior usurping a decision over my staff would raise some concerns. But this is different in that the contracts are usually a matter for those above him.

I see it this way. The manager wants a player to stay so the board do their work with his representatives to find a suitable contract both parties are happy with. If the first one remains unsigned and the players contract starts to run down then yeah, time for an ultimatum. If though the board want to look at it to keep the player that the manager has already indicated he wants to keep (unless he's lying to everyone) then so be it. Not RKs issue as his ultimatum as I see it remains unaffected - Ross signs or Ross goes.

Now I could be wrong and this may be completely not the case here, but in the absence of information we will never get, this is our usual understanding of the process.

That would be my take on it Toffee Ace, I think Koeman just wants to know what players he is likely to have.

Ed, just seen us linked with Robertson from hull. Iv liked him for a couple of years so would be really happy with this but a couple of weeks ago I saw a report saying that Liverpool had tied up a deal for him. Can you shed any light on this?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are interested but they don't have any "deal" for him.}

04 Jun 2017 07:48:03
With that being the case, are you aware of any interest from Everton?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry but I am not aware of Everton interest.}

Watched him for a bit, he is like a young Haines. Would love to get him.

With it being my name would love him to come play for us but if he don't, I hope he plays anywhere but them.
