Ssn reporting we are looking to appoint portugese coach vitor Pereira. looks like lessons have not been learnt to me if that's the case.

And his wife is called Fátima Silva!

Wanted him before Martinez (2013/ 4) I think. But don’t know what he has done since Porto as he got 1860 relegated. It’s a gamble a real gamble if true but I will say this . Premier League experienced managers haven’t worked for us so far 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Do you think we’re just going to keep employing Portuguese managers until we stumble across the next Jose mourinho?

I think whoever is next manager whether its moyes Eddie Howe or benitez we have get behind them in my 30 years following the blues even am arguing with my younger brother about Everton's next manager and shouldn't be the case at all but hopefully big Dunc can give players kick up the ass the weekend and try get 3 points and I have no doubt he will be more passionate on sidelines then silva and boa morte put together COYB.

I thought having been at a relegated side was part of the application criteria? Am i missing something?

Blu Silva was not a Premier League experienced.

Looking at his career he doesn't seem to stay very long in any one place. So ideal for us.

On a plus note moyes no longer favourite in the betting.

There is a time to gamble and a time to play safe, for me this is not a time to gamble.

06 Dec 2019 13:11:12
Quite right DC. Moyes would be a huge gamble!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2019 14:15:39
listen said it previously, its not the time to panic and make a safe bet, i know we're in the bottom three but 2 wins we're back mid table and wondering whatever the issue was, was the same when got got allardyce and everyone was fuming saying we were never really in danger so why did we get him, this is the same principle with moyes, learn from leicester get the manager you want and you can see leading the club out next season as well as this, give the manager 6 months to get to grips with this squad and move on next season.

06 Dec 2019 15:21:16
The fact Moyes hasn't got the job already shows he isn't wanted by the board.
I think we might let Dunc run with it and if the results come in then appoint in the summer.

Oh Noble Knight Smit, one speaks wise words of wisdom which brings much joy to my aching heart. May the humps on your camel be plentiful in water for the journey ahead that we face. Does one foresee a result for tomorrow?

05 Dec 2019 16:58:35
This might sound a bit daft but wasnt Brands bought in to get the U23s and under 18s etc coached and playing the same style as the 1st team?
And if so, wouldn't it be an option to give Unsworth the reigns until the summer or a replacement is found?

He has the Under 23s playing well and in the same style (whatever that style is) the squad is in better shape than it was the last time he was given the role.

Anyway just a thought as he's not been mentioned this time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't think there is much chance of that happen. DF for the weekend then Moyes - or a concerted effort for Marcelino as I have explained - but he is not keen.}

05 Dec 2019 19:27:15
Would Moyes work with a DOF Ed002? I seem to think he wants to run the show and play his style of play.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He would but don't lose sight of Brands' role.I think they would be fine - and just maybe Brands will get a chance to do what he is best at. Else he will walk.}

05 Dec 2019 15:09:42
devastated about the game, but Ed001, do you think silva will get sacked before chelsea at the weekend or do you think he still be in charge for the match and who do you think will get the job if he is sacked, thanks for reply

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I honestly have no idea. In the old days it was clear who was making decisions and why, but part of the problem you have right now is that Moshiri is not decisive enough. He spends too much time listening to advisors, not making his own mind up. I don't know what the advisors are saying, Ed002 might do, but I haven't a clue. I know Kenwright and a few others around the club believe Silva should go, surprisingly for Kenwright who is normally one for sitting tight and keeping faith.

Knowing that I would think it is only a matter of whether he goes before or they wait until the replacement is sorted and can make a quick appointment.

I would expect an attempt for ten Hag, I don't know if he would want the job but I am told that is who is the the preferred option. I believe Brands and Kenwright are both agreeable on ten Hag as a choice. Though it will depend on Moshiri in the end and I am not sure who he will choose, I am just assuming he will agree as ten Hag is someone that makes sense.}

05 Dec 2019 15:36:13
thanks for responce ed that decembers fixture list just doesn't help us just hope we can try pick up some points at home.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The preferred choice to see the club through is David Moyes but the recommendation from one key advisor to Mr Moshiri is for Marcelino as I have explained on a number of occasions. The sticking point with Marcelino is that he is not sold on the club and therefore not keen right now.

Also I have said before, ten Hag has a job and is not going to be a viable option - and he would be Brands choice - and he knows there is another far better option for him in the future. A move to Everton would be a backward step for him. Any approach to Ajax at this time of the season would be rejected.}

05 Dec 2019 15:55:58
Ten hag is doing a great job at Ajax but the coaches at that club are excellent and there philosophy has been the same throughout history chances are who ever goes into that job next are not laying any foundations, I’m not saying he would be wrong appointment just think everyone will be expecting us to play the Ajax way which ain’t going to happen.

Ed001, there should be no suprise about Bill not sitting tight, he wants Moyes in mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is also happy with some other options that have been put forward.}

05 Dec 2019 18:39:38
What options are they Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have answered that already.}

05 Dec 2019 18:51:58
Will there be money to spend in January? And roughly how much? Reports are saying if Everton go down it could be disastrous for moshri and Everton’s future. With that defence they really could go down they’re awful.

sad to see anyone lose a job before xmas, but he simply has to go. no idea who will take the job on, but we need a strong manager to kick some arse and put us back in a healthy league position, keep him even for a few weeks and we may be to late to recover.

The cost of relegation is higher than paying him off. For me Brandts can go to. End this project and start again.

He will be in warmer Portugal for winter and not in freezing Merseyside so won’t be using his payoff for heating.

I like how you get your next target in early dc, now that Silva is on his way out, Brands it is then.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Dec 2019 16:41:16
Has it been announced that Silva has gone or just sharpening the knives for Brands early DC?
To be fair I thought the Brands project was being held back by these advisors that Ed002 mentions.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Silva has gone subject to the settlement being agreed. The advisors belong to Mr Moshiri and are used in a wide range of roles, and many clubs use advisors. Brand' skillset is in building a culture from youth through to the first team and bringing in coaches that can support that (a la PSV, Ajax etc.). Sadly the Everton owner (and supporters) are demanding success pretty much instantly so that is what is disrupting a bigger plan.}

06 Dec 2019 10:16:20
Agree with ed002. The Brand's project makes me optimistic, there seems to be some sense to it but the owners' advisors make me pessimistic.
It's hard to work out what are Brand's choices and what are the advisors' and what are the manager's.
For example:
I don't think Silva was Brand's choice but some claim he was.
I wonder about Moise Kean. Is he a bad purchase or just hasn't been given the chance?
Why wasn't Bemingame played in defensive midfield to fill the gap there, he was playing there a couple of seasons ago and looked more solid
than Davies or Schneiderlin.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Kean is looking for a way out.}

05 Dec 2019 09:28:08
I never thought I would say it but I would have Moyes back right now at least his team could defend. With the transfer window opening soon I would not let Silva spend any more but would give Moyes a budget to get us out of the mire. Don't shout at me too loud because in an ideal world no blue nose would want him back in our club. I personaly would like Raga but can't Ser that happening, as for the rest that are mentioned Dyche, Hughes, Howe not for me thanks.

05 Dec 2019 09:57:08
Diego Simeone being mentioned in some of the papers, very much doubt we’d be able to get him or he’d want to come to us but if he did that’s the sort of manager would love to see on the touch line with his passion.

going back to moyes means taking not only a step back, but 6 years back. listen we're lucky in the fact that the league is so tight this year that we don't have to make the firefighter appointment if he's gone today.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Dec 2019 12:49:02
Moyes had no huge amounts of money to spend when he was with us! As long as he can keep us in the prem who cares! The top 4 are already established. as for the rest, it's a relegation battle.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Dec 2019 13:37:20
Actually going back to Moyes and if he was able to put us back where he left us would be a step forward as we’ve regressed since he left!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Dec 2019 14:25:20
Why Moyes? he left us, said we where holding back players, how many times has he been sacked? NO WAY.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Dec 2019 14:42:21
ahahaha moyes didn't have huge amounts to spend with us! doesn't matter! he had huge amounts to spend at united how'd that turn out! a david moyes everton in this day and age is no better than sean dyche's burnley sorry to break it to you the leagues changed. when we used to hit fifth, that was before city had their riches and before spurs knew what to do. not forgetting wolves leicester all in the mix now xD.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Dec 2019 15:07:10
It is about survival and Moyes is a good solid manager who knows how to defend. He is available and knows the league we do not have time for a new manager to learn about the prem.
It looks like Moyes so please lads let's get behind him and the players, no booing no walking out let's be all as one and keep Everton in the prem.
