Baines to sign new contract, sadly Fellaini could be off to Arsenal though.

I'm hearing Arsenal have made a 22mil bid for Felli triggering his release clause.

SydneyBlue

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Arse won't give him the 70k he gets with us!

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe the rumour but knowing arsenal they'll try to stiff us on the deal

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought the release clause was 24 mill

Agree0 Disagree0

What you mean is you read it in the paper.

Agree0 Disagree0

£24m will do for him, take that go and buy a midfielder and a striker as long they are currently not Wigan players

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like Bill wants to sell all he's banging on about is his release clause. Think it will save hime getting abuse from fans by blaming it on the release clause rather than him being skint

Agree0 Disagree0

Just thinking. Arsenal midfield is rather busy and if they bring Fellaini in it's might push Ramsey or Song out.

anyone part ex Ramsey and 12 mil for Fellaini?

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you mean the same song that plays for Barcelona?! Part exchange for Ramsey, he's useless!

Agree0 Disagree0

ED25. Do you know, is the club free to accept a an improved offer from a third party, or do we have to do a deal with anyone who triggers the release amount? {Ed025's Note - highest bidder wins..

Arsenal have activated Fellaini's £24m escape clause, think he's pretty much gone now lads.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

If he goes i'd activate diame release clause 3.5 mill. He a big powerful defensive midfielder. worth a punt. Or see how much Capoue from toulouse is

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him go, no ones bigger than our beloved club, but just get chelski and united involved in there to start a bidding war and push the price up. Then give Roberto all the coin to find some suitable replacements, I love Felli, but, if he doesn't want to stay then ship him out!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant push the price up, hence release clause, once teams offer what that is its only his wages that will be bidding for

Agree0 Disagree0

fellanini in talks with chelsea

Believable5 Unbelievable10

He will join Moyes at united

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is this Fellanini you speak of?

Hightown Blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard that myself

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellanini. Good player.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 23:46:13
All over twitter that Arsenal have activated a £22 million release clause

Martinez said today that he wants Aiden McGeedy to be his first signing

JG

Believable4 Unbelievable13

He has said no such thing it's media speculation and nothing else.

Agree0 Disagree0

He hasn't said anything

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 23:13:50
Not an improvement on what we already have.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not what we need at all, we already have kev and stevie and think we could do better

Leighton Baines will not leave EFC this summer, Kenwright confirmed it in yesterdays press conference.

Believable11 Unbelievable9

Er no he didn't!

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, Kenwright said that no-one had asked to leave. A big club like United come knocking you don't think Baines will leave?

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenwright clearly said nobody is for sale, Baines is also in contract talks.

12million raid on wigan. aroune kone, who has a buy out clause of 6.5m, sean Maloney, and Antonio alcarez for free
George Efc

Believable4 Unbelievable10

We're not getting Kone, he isn't good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't afford £6.5m on a 29 year old who turns 30 just 2 months into the new season - we need younger.

Plus, now Moyes has gone, we may have a manager who will play Jela in down center and not as a frigging winger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take Alcaraz on a free to bulk up the squad. The only other player I like is McCarthy but apart from that I wouldn't bother. I would like to see Fer and Negredo sign for us in summer. Prob only get Negredo if we sell Felli. I think if we add a couple of squad players and 2 quality players we will do well next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Average players. spend 12 million on mc carty. bossed gerrard and lampard in friendly. blew rooney off the ball twice. Roberto stated always the first name on his team sheet

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather miguel vitor from benfica on a free only young aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus. Gerrard didn't even play for crying out loud, McCarthy has had Fellani in his back pocket more than once though

Agree0 Disagree0

I will drop them off myself for 12 million quid

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take Maloney leave the others at Wigan

Agree0 Disagree0

Shocking, shocking players

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes the only player I would take is Maloney too. The rest can stay and play Championship football

Assessing Martinez style of play at Wigan and what we have in our squad might suggest the following signings. He plays with strong wide players, who can hold the ball up and attack in towards the main striker. Think Moses, now MacManaman - but also was N'Zogbia. Who we appearently tried to sign and were outbid as he went for over 10mio. Not impressed at Villa, but probably could be signed for 4 or 5mio now and still in his mid 20s. That could give 2 out of these 3 for wide positions - Mirallas, N'Zogbia and MacManam (who is an emotional re-sign). Kone could be signed to replace Anichebe. Victor could be sold to a top championship club for maybe 4mio (as he has upside and youth on his side), Kone has a resale clause of 6.5mio apparently - that might be a cheap upgrade. In midfield, I think he will play a 3 - with Fellaini or Gibson in front of the back four, and then Osman, Peinaar and Barkely sharing the right and left side of a middle 3. If Fellaini is sold, then - and only then - does it make sense to sign Mcarthy who would then fit perfectly into that defensive midfield slot.
Alcaraz as a replacement to Heitinga as a back up to SD and PJ - on a free, looks very logical to me, with added opportunities for Duffy and Stones.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Are you actually saying Kone is better than Victor? Think has just had a great season and showed some really great qualities in hold the ball up, strength and finishing. wouldn't sell him and certainly wouldn't sell him to buy Kone!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would sell jelavic and look at buying a you g pacey striker like vydra or weimann

Roberto Martinez knows the European leagues and world leagues more than anyone else i'm looking forwards to see some players from laliga and other leagues maybe a couple like michu what do you reckon ed? {Ed025's Note - that would do me mate..

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Yeah, seen that, signed Crusat, Lopez and Golabaart. never played any of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does he? how is that then seeing as he has only managed in Wales and England and got relegated to the Championship last season.

At the end of the day BK included this is going to be a case of fingers crossed next season, nobody really expects him to get champions league, in his interview he even says there will be difficult times?!! that's positive. I think he is a nice man but unfortunately think this is a wrong move for him and us, don't think it will do him any good as if he fails that's him finished basically unfortunately for him. I hope not, I hope he surprises me and all the doubters but just cannot see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 17:16:18
A friend of mine just text me saying that BK has said on sky that Fellaini's release clause is only £15m
Now I never believed him at first, as I've had a few people winding me up lately about the manager and potential signings so as I'm at work I checked the website out, here's what is printed:

The Spaniard has already had talks with Kenwright to discuss the future of the club and although the chairman's words were largely encouraging, he admitted Belgium international Fellaini could leave if he invokes his £15m release clause.

Check it out yourselves if you don't believe me, the full article is on tv website but I hope this is a typo or something as that would be really bad!

King Chong

Believable3 Unbelievable7

I can't see he is release being the same as what we paid, doesn't make sense (inflation alone etc)

Probably a typo, it is probably 25 million. Can't see people underestimating his release clause.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would the release clause be the same as what we paid for him? doesn't make sense at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not kenwright who says that amount though, its just the amount guessed at in the article. if £15m was the buyout we wouldn't make a penny so why we would we agree to that?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why on earth would we offer him a new contract with a clause which let's him go for the same price we paid for him, after we've developed him for several years. Better be a typo, or we have the worst transfer negotiators in the world. Or Moyes purposefully offered him it so he could poach him at Man U (CONSPIRACY ALERT). but that won't be it.

Agree0 Disagree0

So you believe everything that is put in the media? I feel sorry for you

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2013 05:18:48
Think 23m but 10% to previous club

Agree0 Disagree0

The official buy out price for Fellaini is 28m euro which is just short of 24m pounds. End of story.

Agree0 Disagree0

£15M!! who put that in! here we go, shocking transfer fees now for our best players. How is it Spurs buy players for £8-£12M then sell them on for £30M plus?? why can't we do that?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 16:48:43
First signings to be Arouna Kone from Wigan, Ashley Williams from Swansea, Kasper Schmiechal from leicester and surprise £2million move for derby right back John Brayford!

all financed by Leighton Baines £12million transfer to Man Utd. {Ed025's Note - 12m for baines?..hmmm..

Believable3 Unbelievable11

1) Most of them are too old/aren't good enough
2) they'd cost more than 12m
3) baines is worth more than 12m
4) if we sold baines we'd need a new left back

Agree0 Disagree0

It's ok Ed. He meant to say £12m for one of Bainesy's right foot toes. {Ed025's Note - thats more like it keith..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah 12mil is unrealistic, and also those signings would cost more than that too.

Agree0 Disagree0

More like £20-25 mill for bains

Agree0 Disagree0

, that is ridiculous. £12m for Baines? Nonsense. Kone? No thanks. Williams? Yes please. Schmiechal? No thanks. 100% BS.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is everyone talking about Kone now? I'll take my chances with Anichebe and Jelavic thank you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Make it 15m

Agree0 Disagree0

Are people stupid, baines is not going anywhere stop making things up

My best friend who is very good friends with Bill Kenwright tells me there are going to be 8-9 signings going to be made this summer! Martinez will definitely be looking at a few of his former players to be brought in, apparently Emmerson Boyce, Ronnie Stam and Franco Di Santo for a combined bid of £12 million pounds is going to be accepted! Also there is going to be bid of £15 million pounds for Danny Graham! I love Danny Graham however I was quite suprised that were going to sign since he only just joined Sunderland however he his a great player who will add a lot of goals and pace to our team! These signings I definitely believe we will be in the Champions League next season as our defence will be much improved and I believe Franco and Danny are great goalscorers something that we have definitely been missing last season.
May I say believe what you want to believe but I told you about Martinez coming a week ago after his meeting with Bill. {Ed025's Note - hmmm..

Believable5 Unbelievable12

I will have a pint of whatever your drinking

Agree0 Disagree0

Is all I can say

Coopa1878

Agree0 Disagree0

No no no. and no.

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you smoking mate, ill have some, 15m for danny graham, 12 m for those 3 crap players, ha ha I smell a koppite

Agree0 Disagree0

15m for graham what are you smoking??

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 17:22:43
Smells like a kopite too me, since when does Danny graham have pace and only liverpool would be foolish enough to spend that money on that poo

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of people said RM was coming a week ago, and also never left a name! Bs meter 8/10

Agree0 Disagree0

You was doing ok until you got to 'apparently Emmerson Boyce. ''

Agree0 Disagree0

Di santos's contract expires this summer so where u get this from!
SpekeBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

So we are going to spend nearly 30 million on these 4 and then buy 4 more? jlaff

Agree0 Disagree0

Graham pace? Jog on

Agree0 Disagree0

All the players you mention are ****, Danny Graham for how much you complete glue sniffing plank. Ed what's wrong with these people?
Cheeks {Ed025's Note - i just smile cheeks.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you mad? I wouldn't pay £15 for Danny graham. Dismantle a good team, spend loads and bobby is sacked by October. Anything true like this and just remember mike walker.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is most likely a load of rubbish, but i've heard that we've got 30 million in the kitty due to all the t. v money and if BIG BILLY BOY is true to his word martinez should every penny!

Bainaar

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Santo! please. shocking players. The only player I would take off them is McManaman

Agree0 Disagree0

Get off the lemo mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 13:51:00
Hi ed with Robert earl saying that Martinez will get "phenomenal" backing from the board! Do you think we will have a good transfer kitty this summer? {Ed025's Note - i expect a very decent war chest mate..

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Where does it say this?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is there a quote mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats a very decent war chest ed? ball park figure {Ed025's Note - 15-20m thats my guess...

Agree0 Disagree0

15-20 sounds fair, but in felli goes then his fee must be handed to the new manager as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Why didn't they give it to Moyes last year, may have got Champions League. If they do he better use it properly, don't want it basically given to Whelan for his old cr*p Wigan players that will drag us down. He needs to up is outlook and go for top players. not sure how he will attract them as surely they will look at him and think, this guy just got relegated but fingers crossed.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 13:01:11
Ed do you think there's any chance of us going after any Wigan players. I for one don't think there the standard of player we need to be going for if we want to progress. What are your thoughts?

Confused Blue {Ed025's Note - 1 or 2 maybe mate, as squad members..

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Listen if we can sign Mc Carthy we will be damn lucky, 22 and a great player in prospect

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 09:15:04
City talk just said alcaraz the Wigan defender will be Martinez first signing. great start

Believable7 Unbelievable15

Because he's a good central defender who steps forward into midfield very skillful and can change the formation mid game hence the 5 in midfield and 3 in the back and fullbacks as wingbacks hence Martinez favourite 3. 5. 2 formation but that means one of central defenders must be a ball playing good passer hence interest in free agent alcaraz. tp.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the most exciting signing but as a free transfer it seems a good idea to me because we need to build a bigger squad. he will give us more options and keeps our current players on their toes to retain their place in the team. I think this is a good move!

Agree0 Disagree0

Give the fella a break. he's not even had a training session yet. You need to waltz over to analfield you. Starting to sound like them - a bunch of moaning helms.

Roberto is going to bring flair and silverware to Goodison. He signed a few good players for Wigan - Al-Habsi, Figueroa, Gomez, Maloney, Moses, Valencia, Rodaellga - an that's to Wigan! God knows who he will attract to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

A defender from a relegated club, **** me!

Agree0 Disagree0

Good squad player if johnny H leaves

Agree0 Disagree0

And so the deluge of average relegated players begin. he looked alright playing for Wigan mate, and do we not think that the horrible frailties in their defence were somehow down to these ridiculous tactics?

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty sure we signed Sly from Pompey who were relegated. Also picked up Jags from Sheffield United - but them two are s**** aren't they?

Its a squad player, we are running thing. He won't be in the starting 11 but its good to have bodies on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think if you ask any Wigan fan, they would say that Alcaraz was their best defender, only problem was that he suffered with injuries this season.

As a back up CB to Jags and Distin, and on a free with reasonable wages, wouldn't be a bad signing in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he is good haha do us a favor mate he mite of been ok for Wigan but not even up to evertons bench standard an as for going to Liverpool maybe that's where you should go if alcaraz is the benchmark for our players your setting

Agree0 Disagree0

Please let me know when I stated he was a bench mark. He is a free transfer and another body to an extremely thin squad.

Your name is very apt isn't it. Maybe you need to give you're head a shake.

You DO actually need to go over to analfield given the negativity your spreading before the fella has even had a chance. You sound like one of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that it isn't the most exiting signing we could make. but also agree that he'd make a good backup in a thin area of the squad (the thin area being the 1st team squad I think).

And, of course, free is our favourite price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great signing, alcarez, he'll get us out of jail. think about it

Agree0 Disagree0

Good enough for our bench did you see our bench at parts of the season we have the smallest squad in the league a good signing

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 14:35:39
id take him over heitinga any day
the amount of points heitinga cost us last year

Agree0 Disagree0

I've never really seen him is he a good player Ed? {Ed025's Note - he will make a really good squad player IMO..

Agree0 Disagree0

We are talking a free transfer to bulk the squad and ok so he is a wigan defender. if he's agood player he's a good player if he's in a poor defence he isn't going look fantastic is he. if he does sign let's see how good he is when playing with better players if he's not good enough then we can sell him at a profit. Could be a good bit of business if he gets signed that is.

SA90

Agree0 Disagree0

Been impressed with Alcaraz each time I have seen him and let's be honest would you prefer 'no pace' Heitinger or the 'Bird man' of Alcaraz? one taking home 60k a week and the other currently on 20k

Agree0 Disagree0

Shocking player

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it that fans of other clubs become experts on other teams, when there are rumours they may sign their players.

Martinez NEVER played 3-5-2. Alcaraz NEVER stepped into midfield. Clearly most of you have NEVER seen him play.

For free, he is an absoloute no brainer

Oh. I've seen him play 50 plus times and win an FA Cup to boot by the way.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jun 2013 08:55:43
Roberto Martinez first everton signing as the new everton FC manger will be aiden mcgready he is from Republic of Ireland he's playing Friday night spartan Moskva bought him for 9 million but he wants to move to the premier league they only want 3 million for him he's very fast us Sunderland and Fulham are after him it will be a bargin

Believable8 Unbelievable16

Don't want him we need a player who can get us champions league

Agree0 Disagree0

He looked terrible against england

Agree0 Disagree0

He's always looked skillful but way too slow for the type of player he is. Hope this isn't going to happen, but think it's just rehashing old rumours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be nice in terms of fifa! Got 5 star skills and great pace on fifa 13 so least he would be good there :P

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a greedy player and overpriced, need more quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be 11 and play fifa, your speaking about him like nobodys heard of him, if they realy only want 3 mil and he should be near his peak then he can't be playing well

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcgready is so overrated. James McFadden is better!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

He is going cheap because he is refusing to sign a new contract. If your going to slate me at least leave a name.

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I've seen of McGeady playing for ROI recently he is not good enough for the Blues.

Agree0 Disagree0

Victor Moses and Marko Marin on a season long loan just a hunch no real info, chelsea will ba awash with fringe players and don't really see us as a threat so I say fill yer boots. tristen

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Moses has worked with Martinez before so maybe? Marin awful though

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe moses cause he worked with martinez but doubt marin, he probably will be used with de bruyne to lure schurlle from leverkusen
