I think Lukaku will stay but if he is to go he has to be in the same bracket as Griezman or Rodrigez who are big money players it would have to be a huge bid to take him as a replacement won't come cheap hope we can keep him and throw a bid in for Augero to help him out would be nice.

I hope not, but I for one think he will go witch will be a big shame. He has always said depending on new signings so let's hope we get them in the summer.

Aguero will never happen, Lukaku may stay provided he feels the club is headed in the right direction and could meet up with his high expectations. I think the cull that has just happened may go some way to showing him we do have good intentions. This summer will be a vital step in our Future.

Unfortunately this link was always going to creep back up providing Rom delivered. and he has. Let's hope he feels we are heading in the right direction for him, him to show some. loyalty and/ or we did the promise him anything stupid/ unrealistic in the summer gone for him to stay for another season ie. Champions League this season/ sign unrealistic players etc.

Can you remember Lukaku saying to Terry I will be back next season? Don't care how good a player is, no one is bigger than our club, he thinks he is to good for us? but we must make Chelsea pay BIG.

Don't think Aguero will ever happen. As much as I'd like to see Lukaku stay I have to agree with every word stig says above also.

When will the day come that Lukaku is given some credit for staying at our club? He has been linked with big moves in the last 3/ 4 windows. I'm pretty sure it was all very open when he stayed in the summer. It was clearly reported he had promised to give another year and depending upon how the team competed, he'd revisit this at the end of the current season. He signed a contract extension when he didn't need too. for the club to get a better transfer fee? He smashes in the goals and still gets negative comments. We turned down (reportedly) a lot of money for him, he will sell for a ridiculous fee.
I'd like him to stay but if he goes? He goes with my respect. Great player that deserves to be playing year in year out in the CL. Unfortunately EFC are probably a few years away from being able to give him the stage he craves and deserves, get real some of you! Get off his back.

Blue76 hold on a second. No one that i see is having a go at Lukaku. Stig makes some very valid points above. I love Lukaku and would love him to stay. As stig says no player is ever bigger than the club so if he wants to go let him go. There was a lot of noise about him going. Ever since his first season here. He never done anything to silence it and even changed his agent to a reputable manipulater.

Look at Coleman. Came out in the last week of transfer window just gone by that Utd wanted him. What does Coleman do? Silences it straight away by saying he was not aware of it. Coleman comes across and always has as being totally and utterly devoted to Everton. Loyal to the cause. Never heard any comments from him that he wants to win trophies and that he wants to play under the top managers. Even when the fraud was here. Coleman is a prime example of a true professional who if he wanted to could manipulate stories and come across like he thinks he's above all other players at Everton. He never did.

You say Lukaku signed a contract for the good of Everton. That really made me chuckle Blue76. He signed that contract because he significant benefitted from it as well. How much of a pay rise did he get? Don't kid yourself. There are players who come across grateful for the opportunity and to play for Everton. I used Coleman as an example. Baines is another good one. Could of left to Utd when Fellaini did but he stayed loyal.

Lukaku on the other hand just doesn't come across as this type of player. For the record I'm a big supporter of Lukaku's and have been since day one. Applaud his goals, give him praise. Say its fantastic to have him in our squad. But when it comes down to who I support more the club or Lukaku the club wins every time. Lukaku never had the respect for the club to come out and silence the media after comments he made while on international duty. Like a certain Coleman had when there was stories about him.

Stig sums it up nicely for me. No player bigger than the club. Don't care if he eventually turns out to be the best player of all time. If he truely thinks he is too good for Everton let him go. As stig says get a BIG fee for him and wish him good luck. Otherwise show the respect our great club deserves, do your stuff on the field and keep your gob shut about playing for anyone except Everton.

The usual waffle there from NBTB. go back to ya Daily Mail. It's fans like you that really make people laugh. You think you know the full ins and outs? You're hanging a guy because of speculation? Speculation that will never go away? Because he is one of the best young strikers around? Why don't you step back and judge him by his actions? He is still here, after all the papers say he's leaving. He's still smashing in the goals even though some fans mouth off. He is likely in the crazy times, worth far more than we're paying him. So what if he got a pay rise too? Your point is bitter and irrelevant. His interviews are ALWAYS respectful about the club, team mates and fans. Why should he comment on fabrications? It's almost as if you want to play the martyr? Not sure he has done anything that deserves the glib, common nonsense reply: not bigger than the club. He hasn't ever done anything derogatory to EFC. Again I sign off with: get real.

Agree2 Disagree5

Get real yourself Blue76. You made out that he signed the contract with no benefit for himself. That it was entirely for the clubs benefit. You then tell other people to get real? Good one Blue76. You get very personal there in your reply. No need for that. You don't have the first idea of the 'type' of supporter I am.

Obviously haven't read to many of my posts or have not been reading them for too long. If you have you would see that 99% of the time I stick up for players when they get stick. On this occasion I won't stick up for Lukaku. Because who else at the club has the amount of media coverage about leaving? A lot of that is down to Lukaku.

Never once have i claimed to 'know' the full ins and outs of the club. Daily mail? what's that? Seems as though you think I believe everything in the paper. Think again, just go to the rumours page where I wrote a post on LUKAKU saying the paper wrote thrash before any of these posts. Whether the media are right or wrong with the rumours Lukaku should come out and tell the truth. Just like Coleman done. No truth to his rumours but he had the decency to come out and squash it straight away.

What next Blue76 are you going to claim to know what underwear I'm wearing, how I look and what I do?

Just like to add lads no contract extension has been signed, his agent came out and stated it was 99.9% done but it has never been confirmed by either Rom, his agent or our club for that matter.

At the end of this season he will have 2 years remaining on his current contract so the summer will be the last chance we have to demand big bucks if we decide to sell.

I don't understand where this bickering has come from. NBTB for me is one of the most rational, positive posters on here in my opinion, so it's a bit unfair to write his posts off as "usual waffle".

As regards Lukaku, I firmly believe that he is generally respectful and professional. When he wants to go he just gets on with playing, doesn't sulk and scores lots of goals. His agent is the bad influence.

However, the main reason that he didn't leave in the summer was because no-one wanted to pay £70m for him. We need to either get him to sign a contract now or cash in, as he won't be worth that amount with a year left on his contract. I just hope we can make top 4 and keep him, because unless Walsh pulls a rabbit out his hat Rom and his goals are pretty much irreplaceable.

According to talksport Mino Raiola has said that Lukaku will sign a new deal and is going nowhere. Great news if true. If we don't manage to make CL this season we may have a good chance next season with Lukaku.

Ed's, anyone, any sign of existing players signing new contracts? Namely Barkley and Robles who's contracts expire in less than 18 months. Lukaku has a little over 2 years left on his and there was talk of him signing a new one before Christmas. Albeit from his agent who may have been trying to ignite interest.

These are 3 players I'd certainly like to see tied down. I'm sure there are probably one or two others that I'm not aware of whose coming to the end of their contracts also.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about Robles, but Barkley was keen to get a new contract and expected to sign one before the summer.}

Read an article that Lukaku signed a contract last December earning over £100,000 a week and has a get out clause of £80m. It also said Chelsea are going to give that amount in the summer as Costa is going to China after the bust up with Conte.

What a load of ballony! As you say Ed025 he did not sign the contract last December. Shows how much the papers make up.

Interesting quote from the BBC Rumours page: Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon says he would like to play for "a club like Everton", but the 25-year-old does not believe he is good enough for "the top five in England". (Voetbal International, via Sun) . Isn't he Dutch? I wonder why he has allegedly said this? Perhaps he is trying to manouvre a move? Any thoughts Ed002?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it, but if it was said to a Dutch media outlet then it would likely be a link to Ronald Koeman - perhaps last year he said Southampton. I would read nothing in to it at all.}

07 Feb 2017 13:12:15
Degsy if he is not good enough in his opinion to play for a top 5 side then he is not good enough to play for us. His negativity would go round faster than the waltzes at Southport fun fair.

Hi Ed do we hold any interest in this kid ozankan kokcu?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes but he is just a kiddie and would not be for the first team. Kokcu is a free agent in the summer and whilst Feyenoord would like to offer him a new contract both Spurs and Everton have discussed the player with his agent. It would be best for his career to stay where he is for now.}
