Seen a few reports saying the only reason Big Sam hasn’t been appointed yet is because he will only be tempted by a long term project and Everton will not offer him that you heard anything of this eds.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - No, not at all.}

07 Nov 2017 18:32:35
Cheers ed.

He was on TS this morning and said he has had no contact with Everton.

Wow Ed 025 Mr Moshiri dream move would be for Diego Simeone, what a manager and statement of intent by Everton, no more negatives please and no Sam either.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - that one came out the blue GB, cant speak a word of english and that could be a problem along with his fiery reputation mate but certainly sounds better than allardyce mate..

07 Nov 2017 12:36:32
What a catch that would be though Ed if we did get him, never see a negative post on here again, heaven.

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Nov 2017 12:42:35
Where have you seen this. If true, a real statement of intent by the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 12:44:42
seem to remember a certain m. pochettino couldn't speak a word of English for two years upon his arrival! by the way I am in no way saying we are getting someone no fat chance of that.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have had an update on simeone actually w from ED002 who has met the guy, he tells me that he can actually speak a little bit of english so my original statement was not actually true mate..sorry..

07 Nov 2017 12:54:07
Hi SSN at lunchtime mate.

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Nov 2017 12:54:19
I said before of he would be my favourite manager to be at Everton out of anyone. Sadly I don't think we appeal to him yet. Hopefully some day.

07 Nov 2017 13:14:52
Have found a few links now, cheers.

07 Nov 2017 13:29:25
my heads all over the shop, one minute big sam next simeone. roll up and place your bets.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Forget Simeone. Walsh will get his way with the dream team of SA and Craig Shakespeare assuming the money can be agreed.}

07 Nov 2017 13:53:58
we can dream ed.

Its funny if the papers say something good a lot accept it, but when bad they are rubbish rags? LOL.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 14:56:42
Not seen it in any papers yet mate, I saw it on SSN at lunchtime, no doubt they will pick up on it later though.

07 Nov 2017 15:55:35
Ed002 how much input does Walsh have in the process of finding a new manager?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is him who wants Allardyce and Shakespeare and he is the "football" person at board level. Dyche would be a better longer-term solution solution but Burnley will not want to be letting him leave right now. Unsworth is not the solution either. The club needs bettwe advice than they are getting.}

07 Nov 2017 17:02:22
Hi Ed, If this Allardyce move is Walsh led then I feel the previous discussions we had about a Sporting Director are very much needed and Walsh should be moved sideways to head of scouting and player recruitment
Question is though what makes a good Sporting Director and could be possible candidates?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The attributes are the need to co-ordinate all sporting aspects of the club, first team, youth teams, scouting systems, negotiation and act as a buffer between the board and the first team manager. There are no suitable candidates as Everton already have someone in the role.}

07 Nov 2017 17:55:59
Get rid of Walsh, should have gone before koeman for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 19:32:08
Ed25, I remember a certain poche at Southampton not being able to speak a word of a English as well and had an interpreter at press nterviews, seems to not have been a problem for him.

On a lighter note who remembers bob the pole, he was brilliant until he learned English and was coached how to play, went downhill after that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its not always a problem baz, poch by the way pretends not to speak good english to avoid the press mate..

07 Nov 2017 21:01:11
Thanks Ed. It’s a pity we weren’t able to lure Monchi into the DoF role at the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Monchi was another who was not going to be joining Everton.}

07 Nov 2017 21:36:46
So in your opinion Ed02 it's Walsh being in the wrong role causing most of the problems at Everton? Just out of interest in your opinion who would you be going for? If you were hypothetically the third party advice?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Walsh should not be in the job. Dyche would be a good option although Hoddle would be my pick.}

07 Nov 2017 22:36:03
While we are at it Ed how about Jack Lester if Hoddle turned us down :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 23:44:02
Hoddle with Rhino as number 2? Now that would appease the fans.

Agree1 Disagree2

08 Nov 2017 18:15:20
Surely to god, Sam Allardyce cannot seriously be getting the job?

It makes absolute zero sense to employ him, either in a short term role, or long term. Short term - he would have a little bit of an impact and make us difficult to beat, but would take the club backwards and we'd be worse off come the summer. Long term - the man is renown for playing ugly, boring football and would take us even further backwards as a club.

Why can't the people at this?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 10:59:58
So according to Mr Allardyce no talks have taken place between himself and Everton Football Club. Thank God! Let's please keep it that way. It's so obvious he's so not the answer. Who the hell thought this one up!? Media, Bookmakers, Harry Hill?!?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

07 Nov 2017 11:13:09
The problem is that one source makes up a story and then the others follow with "according to reports" and the false story takes on a life of it's own. On the other hand do we believe anything that Allardyce says? Ed. 025 some your statements indicate that you believe our next manager will be Allardyce. Is this just speculation on your behalf or do you have any inside information?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont know whether you call it inside information or not mike but im being told that allardyce has been lined up with craig shakepeare as assistant mate, the information is i believe correct but i cant say it is set in stone..

07 Nov 2017 11:28:35
Let's hope not Ed. You are a good Evertonian like most of us and I just can't believe that Kenwright would sanction such a move. If he does I am finished with him and would want him out. I will never stop supporting Everton regardless of who is the manager but my support for those who make such a decision will be gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i can only pass on information i receive mike and im as saddened as you on what seems to me like a backwards step appointment mate, i dont want to be the purveyor of bad news but its no use me telling lies either..

07 Nov 2017 12:40:43
Appreciate all the information that you Ed's pass on Ed025. Was not having a go at you mate, just can't believe that the club would pick such a candidate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes certainly a candidate mike..

07 Nov 2017 12:59:43
BlueMike, surely as majority shareholder, the final say or sanction would rest with Moshiri and not Kenwright.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 16:45:05
Agreed bullenroadboy but look at the two of them against Watford, like bosom buddies. Kenwright must still have some influence and I just hope that he pulls the plug on Allerdyce.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 23:39:57
i listened to the conversation with him on talksport, sounded to me that moshiri's mate jim whyte was taking it with a pinch of salt.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 09:32:42
Alan Brazil on talksport has just claimed that he knows for a fact after the watford game in the boardroom moshiri asked the watford chairman if he can talk to silva about the Everton job how the hell would he know that?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Nov 2017 11:27:26
They were interviewing Leon osman who reckoned he saw it happen!

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 07:23:20
Allardyce for 100 grand a week how desperate are we please please please nooooo not this gum chewing fraud.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - im hoping not as well billy but it is looking very likely mate..

07 Nov 2017 08:01:29
Please don't just shoot me down but if Sunday had gone the wrong way and we were sitting here after another loss would we take ANYONE to get us out of it?

Agree9 Disagree1

07 Nov 2017 08:57:52
let's just wait and see according to sky sources (I would love to know who these sky sources are) big Sam will be appointed until the end of the season if he can't get a big name manager in now I don't want big Sam but I suppose I could put up with him until the summer as I have total faith in what moshiri is looking to do to our great club.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - the appointment of craig shakespeare as assistant will give us all a major lift as well i expect BLUEy...not

07 Nov 2017 09:32:38
not sure why everyone is so down on Allardyce. he is proven at organising a defence, something we are in major need of. I will happily take him guaranteeing safety and then we can re-group and appoint a big name in the summer. Perfect scenario really. Plus he will guarantee we turn up in a derby which would make a nice change after a decade or more of poor performances and failure. I know this shouldn't be the height of our expectations but unfortunately this season is already a write-off!

Agree5 Disagree1

07 Nov 2017 10:27:18
Proven at organising a defence but as it stands, you can't polish a turd can you.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 11:00:06
Totally agree Rlchris1982. Shakey30 we had the 6th best defense last season and added 2 players along with some youth players. Why can't we be doing better than we are now defensively? I know some are not getting any younger but it can't of gone downhill so much in such a small space of time. With right management they will improve massively.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - missing coleman is huge NBTB, and dare i say it mori mate..

07 Nov 2017 12:58:33
Yes Ed025 we missing Coleman. Can't definitively say we are missing Mori. But do you not think Pickford makes up some of the ground lost with Coleman. The defense still can't have fallen so much after losing Coleman and gaining Pickford surely?

That's not even mentioning Kenny and Martina who have also come into defense. We should be no worse than last season even after losing Coleman. He can't make that big of a difference on his own imho.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i have to say pickford has me worried at the moment mate, some very rash decisions lately but im giving him the benefit of the doubt at the moment..
