SSN reporting that we are in advanced talks with Vittor Pierra (spelling whatever his name is) and he could be in place by the weekendt.

I hope this isn't the case as it sounds like a massive gamble by Everton to appoint a coach with no experience of any of the big European leagues. His time at 1860 Munich was in the 2. Bundesliga.

One other thing I also noticed when looking through his previous managerial positions was the mention how Kia Joorabchian the Iranian super agent was exerting influence over the 1860 Munich owner Hasan Ismaik. how worryingly familiar this sounds.

The biggest concern I have about our club at the moment is how Moshiri, Kenwright and Brands all have their separate visions about the managers position and how the club should be run.

Starting to miss the stability of the Kewright/ Moyes years!

Not sure how true this is, surely he’d be a lot shorter than 11/ 8 in the betting if we were in advanced talks with him? I know shouldn’t follow odds but there’s no way the bookies would have him at this price if he was in advanced talks, he’d be a lot lot shorter in the betting.

Silva and Periera stats look familiar, he isn't the right man. I hope they are not serious.

Unfortunately, Moyes is odds on fav again to b next manager, i really hoped we had moved on from the idea of him coming back, i really think Moyes is a poor choice.

Don't want Moyes back but at least we know what we would be getting where as Pereira looks very similar to Marco Silva and that didn't work out great for us but really don't know a great deal about him we should go for some one with premier league experience I would go for Ancelotti don't see us getting him but would definitely try.

Looks like the money has won out ssn now reporting he has said he’s committed to his current club. Rafa also likewise but has said maybe in the future also tried to backtrack the small club thing by saying he meant team🤥
Looks like Dunc may get to continue for a bit longer.

{Ed025's Note - that would work for me big C mate..

"Starting to miss the stability of the Kenwright / Moyes years! " Oh please Kenyan_Toffee! No silverware in those years and not a hope of winning any. Moyes is spent or have you not noticed by his absence to be included in the contenders for the top jobs.

You can't argue that that stability wasn't a better position that what we have been in the past few years.

just me who thinks no one actually knows who we're looking at? its not moyes otherwise he'd have been in place by now? is it pereira? or are we being used as a recycled story from 2013 to get him a bumper chinese contract can't see us ever wanting him with that record? i think its brands whose got hold of this and its very much so like his transfers, no ones 100% sure what's true and what's not.

A lot of talk a lot of faffing about i. e. pundit waffle re countless options .
I just hope this isn't a prelude to the 'David Moyes to the rescue ploy'
And a long term contract etc.

Reports Emery was approached and informal talks held
Surely this is just drivel from a journo to create a story.

Arsenal's worst run in 40yr and we supposedly want him as manager. Isn't mike Walker available instead.

ST, ssn are saying, ''wants more time to think about it''
I 'wants' Ed02 to tell 'us' not to think about it personally 😔.

{Ed002's Note - I am travelling and can't think who I could call to confirm this, but it would be a club choice rather than the advisors who I know well. Emery would demand money and a great deal of control over transfers. One of the reasons clubs don't want to hand over full control over the transfer of players is that they don't want to refresh the squad when the coach changes. I can't see it would be a good solution but I will try and find out.}

Think it was Dick Emery, Moshris advisor wanted to change his milkman.

Emery says he needs more time to decide his next job. Someone leaks that Pereira is close to joining us.
Que Emery accepting the job.

I’d have Emery over Periera, not keen on Periera at all. Saying that of the attainable coaches he’s still up there even after the Arsenal blip. Moyes, Periera don’t fill me with excitement.

I think I agree with you gibbo. He's had a nightmare at Arsenal but before Arsenal Emery had a very good CV and was highly regarded.

I've only read Pereira's CV on the Echo and it's not that exciting - some successes but lower leagues and he's not stayed anywhere too long

Out of the 2 I'd say Emery if he has recovered enough from Arsenal but hopefully there are others in the hat that appeal more.

I cannot say any of the candidates being touted in the press are really good enough especially reading their cv’s, we appear to be about to jump to quickly again and make another massive mistake that will inevitably cost millions!
We need to take time and appoint someone with the right credentials that understands the club and the premier league!
Saturday was a relief, a breath of fresh air but it could just be an impact result, the board need to plan carefully for the future!
