Rules out signing both Cleverley and Rodwell, we may still get one of them, but I highly doubt he would want 7 centre midfielders all signed on, unless he has plans to offload someone.

Local media outlets in elche, Spain are claiming everton have agreed a fee with elche for Colombian midfielder Carlos Sanchez apparently 2m euros

We can def do better than him. Some players have impressed for Colombia in this wc but not him.

I'm sure if that was our initial offer it was because Martinez is trying to conserve our budget. Bidding doesn't work if you give your highest offer up front cause then whomever you are buying from is winning. Two parties start at opposite ends of the price range then meet in the middle.

I believe your budget prediction. Barkley will add 40 mil to the kitty but not 25.

Looks like Tello is going to Porto:

Barcelona winger Cristian Tello will join Porto on loan next season, according to reports.

The 22-year-old played a peripheral role at the Catalan club last campaign as his progression has been slowed by the presence of stars such as Neymar, Lionel Messi, Pedro, Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez - and after a season without silverware, he was expected to be part of a huge clear-out at the Camp Nou.

Last week it was reported that the Spanish international was very close to reaching an agreement with Porto.

Hey lads anyone know if we had to pay the 2.5 mil to city that was being reported prior to the signing?

{Ed025's Note - we had to pay £2m tmh, it was a clause that if his loan became permanent a fee would be paid to city mate..

It makes you wonder what the delay was if we've ended up paying the fee and given GB a three-year contract.
I reckon our negotiating team - especially BK - make sure we squeeze every financial advantage out of every transfer deal.

That does seem to be a bit of a strange agreement to me, unless of course City were making a sizeable contribution to the lad's wages during the last year of his deal and were merely trying to recoup some. I can't believe the penny watcher BK would've paid all his wages AND agreed a fee for an out of contract player should he sign permanently. Swings and roundabouts.

I heard a rumour from a friend of a friend who works at the club (I know, I know, it sounds deeply unreliable, but I'm not about to deliberately embarrass myself unless I trusted the source) that he happened to overhear about a particular new signing that 'would be more than his life's worth to talk about' but 'will get people very excited for the new season.' Could be utter tosh, but I like to think I'm not stupid. Maybe my friends of friends are. But I have no control over what they do.
