My personal number one would be Simeone from Ath Madrid. Top class imho. No English though. Chances are very small.

Simone, mourinho n pellegrini I love the optimism but let's get serious they wouldn't consider us, new money but still the same money constraints due to fan coal fair play, were at are limit and that won't change.

mike, would you have said Claudio Ranieri would consider Leicester before he was hired? There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to attract top name managers.

mikedeblue I said 'chances are small' for a reason.

It all depends on situation. Who knows if a top manager will come. Good squad with money to spend. I know not many will agree with this one but I think we are just as attractive as Man Utd.

Our squad is underachieving. With a top manager in with money to spend I have no doubt our ability to get into champions league next season would increase greatly. I'd fancy us to get into top 4 next season with a manager who knows how to to set the team up defensively.

There's no doubt in my mind that it's Martinez that dropped a lot of points for us this season. Some people are questioning are we overrating the team and squad. No way is my opinion. Most people are saying we are underachieving. I totally agree with that.

Ranieri wasn't really a top name manager before this season. He'd been sacked from 3 jobs in 4 years, with the last being the Greek national side. He was out of work. That is different from enticing an acknowledged managerial superstar like Simeone from a club that regularly challenges Barcelona and Real for La Liga, plays every season in the Champions League and are richer than we are. And before someone talks about our billionaire owner - his money is his, not ours. Our club is no richer than it was last month, although thankfully he's promised to invest (not give) some money. All this talk of Mourinho and Simeone will backfire when we (please God) get a new manager who realistically isn't going to be on that level. Whoever it is, we're going to have to get behind them.

Before people jump down my neck this is just a few rumours. rooney is coming in the summer and 'the special one' is close friends with our new invester and he wants a new project this is the perfect time for him to come to a club like everton mark my words.

I hope Morinio does not come to our club, he is not special he is a fraud loke Martinez. He cannot work without a big budget and Everton's will not be big enough.
People will point to Porto but let's face it they are like Celtic Scotland. Chelsie sacked him twice!

. some fraud. he's only gone and won the champions league umpteen times, league titles in every country he's managed in, fa cups, Mickey Mouse cups, super league cups. do I need to go on? Check out his cv buddy and you'll soon realize Mourinhio is no fraud. he's a character yes - but more importantly, he wins things everywhere he goes. league titles, cup finals. something which we at Everton haven't won now for nearly 30 years. he's a proven winner and for me he should be installed as Everton fc's new manager at the end of the season with a substantial war chest at his disposal. I doubt you'll be moaning if he won us the premier league in his first season in charge!

{Ed025's Note - in the end its all about opinions soli, his CV is impressive of that there is no doubt but his personality is not everyones cup of tea mate..

I think he's one of those guys when he's on your side you love him. When you're against him you hate him. One thing he has is passion which I think would be welcome at Everton. As well as some great tactics which are badly needed.

He won the Champions League with Porto! You can knock the guy - he moans, he's abrasive and he lost it this season, but if he came, you've got to see that as our best shot of winning something. Can't see it myself, but I hope I'm wrong. He'd definitely be a massive improvement in what we've got now. Mind you, Harry Redknapp would be a massive improvement in what we've got now. Come to think of it, Jamie Redknapp would be an improvement on Bobby.

Definitely take Mourinho. He'd be coming for the short term as he never stays at one club too long.

Milomj Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea twice but can you name another club that sacked him?

No you can't because that's the only time he got sacked. First time because Abramovich thought Chelsea were too good for him and if I'm not mistaken he came out afterwards and said he shouldn't of sacked him.

The amount of clubs he managed and managed successfully is unreal. We won't see the likes of him for again for awhile.

I'm not his biggest fan in terms of his personality and it does get in the way sometimes. The players wanted him gone this season. It's obvious, they are playing much better now.

Saying that I admire him. He's a winner and a winner wherever he went. Multiple countries, he knows how shape a squad into winners.

Most importantly he knows how to set a team up defensively and definitely knows how to close out a game. Its not always pretty but the job gets done.

They say goals win games but conceding very few win trophies. Something that would improve us a lot is that theory. Setting up a proper defence. Scrap that stupid theory if you score 3 we'll score 4. More like we'll go 3 up and then we'll let 3 in or maybe even 4. I have yet to see that theory work.

The vast majority of seasons the team that wins the league have let in the fewest goals. We had a defence with them capabilities when Martinez took over. That side of Everton has gone to bits since Martinez introduced his tactics and style.

No doubt Mourinho would sort that out and have us playing like winners. With the squad we have and a few tweaks in the summer god knows where we'd be next season.

Don't want to pee on anyone's bonfire but I checked the odds for next Everton manager: big Dunc is the current favorite, followed by OFM, Phil Neville, AVB and Hiddink. After that were down to Brenda and bleedin Jamie Carragher! No mention of Mourinho, de Boer and co.

Nope CToffee, he left on mutual agreement at the end of the season. At the beginning of that same season he signed a new 4 year contract with Real Madrid. After spending 4 years there already.

Just for good measure before Zidane was announced as Real Madrid's new manager earlier this year they offered the job to Mourinho.

He obviously turned it down. His reason being he wants to remain in the EPL. I hate to say it but we could be his second choice. Its been branded about he wants Utd job.

Don't think that would be any easier than Everton job. He'll have his work cut out if he goes there and big pressure with the way they are going since AF left.

Can't beileve poeple think mourinho is possible, despite doing a god awful job lately by disrupting the whole of Chelsea do poeple really beileve he's a genuine candidate, by the way Rooney will be in the USA next because money talks and even with 100 billion we can't offer more.

I'm loving your enthusiasm mikedeblue 😒

Before investment I would of thought Mourinho was not a possibility. I actually laughed at someone here when they suggested that months ago.

Circumstances have changed, although I'm not convinced he'd come to Everton the likelihood has increased due to investment. Money talks and we have a good squad as it is so I ask you why would he not come to Everton?

The future is bright and we are going to be competing at the top again.

Fraud or not. its mourinho. Players want to play for him. Abit like pep. So he could attract big names if the money is there. Which until I actually see it being spend I am trying to not get too excited.
