Apparently, Brescia are in a massive financial crisis and have not paid their players in two weeks. If they miss a third payment, then they will be forced to let all their players leave on a free. Ahmad Benali said to be interested in a move back to PL. He'd be a quality signing on a free.
I think after last nights performance the players have shown that they are up for the fight. We need to ensure we finish mid table and have a revamp of the squad next season. We need to ship out at least 7 players: Howard, Kone, Gibson, Pienaar, Eto, Distin, Mc Geady. We will be lucky to get £10m for them. To replace them we will need £50m+ so we will need either investment or we will have to sell one of our prized asset. If we get the right money for Barkley - £30-£40m I would let him go to enable us to build a stronger squad!
{Ed025's Note - my problem mondo...is that we should have been up for it from day 1 mate, then we would not be in this position, is it because roberto has been too soft with them?, or a world cup hangover?, or players believing that they are better than they really are?..i dont know..
I totally agree Ed. RM is walking on thin ice. If we don't win against West Brom or Palace we in deep sh**e. He might have plenty of time to have a long break in Brazil soon :-)! Maybe this lazy attitude got to the players in August as we had a very poor start to the season and if we don't buck up we could have a disastrous end to the campaign. Maybe the jobs is too big for him?
{Ed025's Note - i know it cant have been easy with the world cup and all mondo, but our pre-season was a disaster, i love bobbys attitude and am desperate for him to do well but this is a results business mate, and as you say if we dont get results from the next few games and get dragged in to the relegation scrap the pressure on him will be immense..

I'd also add Hibbert and possibly Ossie to the list. There's 9. Almost a full squad.
Personally think Joel could do the job for us with a bit more 1st team practice and mentoring from Tim if he stepped back.
But completely agree with above. The dead wood needs to go and we need to spend quite a bit to replace them considering our squad is relatively small as it is.
Ed - any news on any incomings? Fed up of hearing about outgoings Eto, Barkley to Liverpool now! (LOL)

If Liverpool seriously want to pay 60mil for Barkley Then maybe rm should sell him now and bring in new/fresh faces. Joel Campbell rumoured at 8mil and deulofeu same price. Still have 40+ mil to bring in a defender and keeper.

I doubt the Liverpool rumour is true but even if he were to be sold for £60m if you think the manager would see any more than half that amount you're kidding yourself
