Papers reporting this morning that john stones is up for a move to chelsea. With another paper reporting that Chelsea are going to return with a new improved fee of £34m. Make of this what you will but personally I don't think BK will turn them away with such an offer. Let's hope it's true when RM said we're not a selling club.

Of course his head will be turned by the offers, what's he on now £30k a week, Chelsea will need to give him £90k to justify that price tag, treble your wages, i'm off

If that 34 million offer rumour is true then BK will not turn that down, personally think he will be gone in a week for 35 million, that's probably a good price as even if he had an amazing season for club and country your probably looking at a maximum we would get for a CB is 40 million.

I hope he doesn't go as think the lad is special, so cool on the ball and loves attacking, we need to up his wages to 60k today, but eventually he will be gone

I'm not so sure Murf. As far as assets go, Bill knows he'll be worth more in 2 years time still having 2 years left on his contract I think. The lad seems very happy with the club in a similar way to Coleman who has also had opportunities to have his head turned.

We don't need the money (debt wise) so there's no rush and we are in full control.

The papers are desperate, as they are using the "source close to him" lies when there is nothing to quote.

I genuinely think he'll stay for now. We will not be forced into it. I can't see him doing a lescott.

Mangala was nearly 40m David Luiz 50m. Stones is better than both younger has a 5 year deal and is England international. No deal at all unless we are talking 50m starting point

I hope he does stay Ace, massive superstar in the making, seems so down to earth too, we do need to up his contract though to put him on par with other top earners, it would go a long way to showing him and other clubs that we are playing hard ball.

M1k3yd14 (lol what's going on with that name mate) - how Chelski got 50 million for Luiz no one will ever know, maddest transfer figure in history, only seconded with Lpool paying 35 million for Carroll

well mikeyd was taken on emails so just changed it numbers, bit of a mess I know haha. Well that is my point if Mourinho can say with a straight face PSG got Luiz at a fair price then he can do one offering 20m for Stones! I don't want to lose stones because we need a good young spine but let's be honest 50m plus for him could be too good to refuse. Only if its going back into the squad not the boards coffers

Mandala was 35m (release clause) and luiz was 40m which was a joke in itself, if that's the price then Thiago silva worth 80m maybe we should hold out for that? there's not point banding about prices for players because the seller will always think there worth more, the only difference with stones is that he's English and the likes of Chelsea and City will pay a premium for any english player the deem to have a good future. 35m for a player with his experience and position is about right so if he gas bid this then it's a serious offer and won't be taken lightly
