In your opinion ed, is there any chance Martinez will be gone before wed. Surely a change of manager, even temporary will give players and fans a lift.

The whole thing is a nightmare and unfortunately Bill Kenwright finds himself in the middle of it, the PR has been a disaster and the Club being made a laughing stock. Mr Moshri must be wondering what the hell he has bought himself into.

What the heck is wrong with you Ed002, normally I respect your knowledge and opinion. What part of the 138 year old home record being broken in just 3 seasons under this man do you not understand. The guy comes out week in week out with absolute rubbish in his interviews and then we have the likes of yourself having a go at the likes of myself. I give up.
{Ed002's Note - Clearly Bill the Everton fans are, like many football fans, not very bright. The support of the team has gone - you have become like the latest incarnation of the Liverpool fans. The fans of old would have shrugged when the got to the bar room and would have hoped the team would have played well the following weekend. Now it has changed - the fans don't support the team, they are on the back of the team, they are upset if the team don't lose. It is a new paradigm we see with some of the "northern" English teams. Nothing to do with tradition or history - that goes with the fans wanting the team to lose in order to get the manager sacked. It is embarrassing and if any one cares enough to "laugh" at Everton, then that is teh reason why.}

Like most of your ilk Ed you resort to insult when opinion does not match your own. You have no idea of my educational background, my career background, connection or knowledge of this great Club. Where in my comments have I ever said I would like my team to lose. Calling someone else not very bright, I would suggest is in all probability a reflection of your own inability to enter cohesive debate.

Laugh all you want Ed002. You obviously have a vendetta against Everton fans. You seem to think you know it all with the vast majority of your comments on this 'Everton' page.
How do you know how bright the Everton supporters are? You don't know the first thing about 99.9% of Everton supporters. Your tarring of groups of people shows your intelligence. You obviously know your stuff about the football end of things.
Doesn't mean you know everything about everything which you seem to think you do. Your the only poster on here who continually write annoying and negative put down comments on an extremely regular bases.

Ed025 on the other is the best down to earth Ed on here. Ed033 came out last year and said we would get nowhere under this manager and he or she (don't know the first thing about Ed033 and won't assume to) is completely right.
Yet we are supposed to put with it, say nothing and support the team.

Ed002 great post. New to posting but follow the site regularly. Fans are far too quick to fall on the side of negativity. Even Koeman was aware of this in his pre match comments. I am no fan of Martinez but until he is sacked I for one will continue to support the team. It's bills fault, it's Martinez fault, I told you so. It's all that's on here lately and we are a week from a FA cup semi final.

Ed you can be a little blunt on times, but I agree with you 100%. I get frustrated reading the same negative posts on here as I do watching us underachieving. It's embarrassing being an Everton fan not because of our league position but how a lot of our fans turn as soon as a player makes a mistake. I don't even think a new manager would stop the jeers : (

Ed002: it is quite interesting to consider the psychology of modern football "fans" - as individuals and as members of a group. There have always been times of hope, expectation, disappointment, joy, etc., for supporters when following their favourites, but these days there seems to be a feeling of entitlement - that we "deserve" success by right, and it's simple to achieve, and that those deemed responsible for any "perceived" failure must be incompetent, crooked, uncaring and lazy for not waving the magic wand, spending the mega-bucks, and delivering success. Having, (and expressing) opinions - whether thought-through or knee-jerk - is fine, but the idea that an ordinary average fan has any real comprehension of what it really takes to run a modern football club is - in my humble (and, I concede, also relatively uniformed) opinion - just mind staggeringly daft. By the same token, that doesn't mean that the fans expressing an opinion aren't bright or are insincere or should be laughed at. I think it's the modern era of instant gratification, worshiping of celebrity, overhyping of players, and the mass-market pressure on fans to expect, demand - and pay for - their regular fix of "therapy" when attending a match - whether that's by enjoying the football or revelling in the schadenfreude of others failing or wallowing in the self-pitying self-deluding despair of perceived under-achievement. Don't get me wrong - aspiring for success, wanting to win, enjoying attractive footbal are all fine things, but the expectation that it's easy to achieve and that we're being denied our destiny by evil forces is madness - sheer madness. It's good craic, but it ain't reality. A sound strategic plan - covering ALL aspects of the club both on and off the field - that is intelligently executed by owners, directors, staff, players to the best of their abilities - and that is supported by the fans wholeheartedly (but not without justifiable criticism when appropriate) seems to me the way forward. It's tough for the ordinary fan (like me) to be patient and understanding, but until I'm in a position to buy a controlling interest in the club, then I have to trust those who are the current custodians. All I can do is support the players on the field and encourage them to play well and without fear - I'm sure they know when they've not done their jobs.
Oh, it's such a hard life being an addicted football fan - any fan, but especially an Evertonian ;-)
