. telegraph reporting in the last few mins that Everton are to try and land 'Monchi' from Seville with Moshiri making him an offer he can't refuse. well, well, well - the plot thickens. if this was to happen, does that mean we! 're going all out for Emery?

Agree3 Disagree2

Yes, just read this, as far as I can tell the Telegraph don't usually write rubbish, I mean as oppose to the Mirror and all those comics newspapers.

I'm trying not to get too excited but I can't sit still either, doing my head in all this.

{Ed002's Note - Finally people are beginning to understand things better. Firstly - remove Emery from the equation as there are no dependencies. Secondly, yes, as I have already explained on the European pages there are clubs interested in Monchi, and yes, two of those clubs are from England and yes, one is indeed Everton. People need to step back and stop thinking of Mourinho and stop demanding immediate knee jerk recruitments. I know the supporters don't want to, but the club needs to have the time to do the right thing.}

. brilliantly put Ed. couldn't agree more mate. exciting times ahead 1 thinks!

{Ed002's Note - Everton see Monchi in the role of a Sporting Director where he would oversee all of the footballing activities from the first team to the kiddies. He would oversee all of the scouting and would act as a buffer between the manager and the board. He would also take responsibility for policy regarding the way forward on the pitch and for transfers. It would be a great addition and would give the club a really good chance going forward. I suspect most of the fans would be against it as they seem to think everything is the responsibility of the manager and everything revolves around him - it doesn't in the modern game but there is little point explaining that sadly. Whether or not it will happen is another matter entirely, but it underlines the need for planning, taking time, and doing the right thing.}

Hi ed do you think this fella would be a good suit to us or even the premier league? And is there any real interest from us in emery or have they got cross wires because we've been looking at monchi.

{Ed025's Note - monchi would make an excellent sporting director eddy, he would be a great addition and his achievements speak for themselves mate, he would be the link between the new manager and the board and would oversee everything from scouting, recruiting, youth set up and sponsorship, the emery link means nothing though and it seems very unlikely im afraid..

Think you are right on us taking our time and doing right thing Ed, but GOD it's really not easy being a blue.

{Ed025's Note - it never has been bobslad..im currently serving a 58 yr life sentence being an evertonian mate..and no parole.. :)

It does make sense to have a slower more measured progress as this would allow energy to be put into the effort of making ground on a new stadium.

Indeed

There's emery chance that there will be a manger in place by the end of the week.

On another note I see that the Official Site is down.

Having a Sporting Director like Monchi would be an excellent move for Everton. It would then allow employment of a first team coach. de Boer or even Unsworth could fill this role and focus on the team rather than the full managerial role. Very pleased to see that the club is taking it's time to get the right team in place and going for the very best available.

I find it quite interesting reading in various sources which players we are supposedly interested in. If we have no manager and no sporting director, who then is deciding who we should go for? Could it be that the future sporting director / coach is already giving instructions? The plot thickens better than my home made gravy lol.

{Ed002's Note - There is not plot to thicken. This has been dealt with.}

Man Utd are after Monchi, so i don't think he will be coming to us, b nice if he does, but i think he will choose Utd.
