Where is this story Stef?

11 Aug 2016 14:01:20
Press conference.

11 Aug 2016 14:06:44
Palace press conference on BBC website. He also said nothing will happen before the weekend.

11 Aug 2016 14:15:50
Seen that to. I'd say it's just pardew being a playa!

11 Aug 2016 14:21:40
It's from crystal palace press conference pardew said no deal imminent and not before the weekend at least he also said that he wants bolasie to stay at selhurst park perhaps the waiting to see if they sign benteke first.

11 Aug 2016 14:45:44
Of course he is going to say all those things he is not going to say yep he will be Everton player in next 48 hours we all know deals can fall through so there is every chance you could see Bolaise playing for palace Saturday then following week playing for Everton, Bolaise will not go until they have replacement ready to sign bit like us really stones deal would not have happened until we were sure of Williams signing and Sunderland with Kone now they have added 2 CBs expect the Kone deal to gather pace but think that will be next week. Everton team on Saturday will be very different to 2 or 3 games into the season but I am prepared for a bumpy first couple of months but be patient koemans message will get across will just take bit of time this group of players have been brain washed for 3 years by Martinez, I think one thing that will stand out right away will be our high tempo pressing which is key in the prem.

Pardew chats bubbles at the best of times. Let's just wait and see, I still believe there is no smoke without fire and bolasie will be an Everton player soon enough.

11 Aug 2016 15:45:30
He basically said he's gone but not before this weekend.

11 Aug 2016 15:50:08
what's a little worrying is Koeman's conference he said the players are only at 70% of where he wants them to be.
may be a good sign as he is going to get them in better shape physically and mentally than last year, also those that get the opportunity this weekend are playing for their futures with the amount of signings we are rumoured to be after.

11 Aug 2016 16:05:48
I think its a good sign wakka57. My reading is Koeman has higher standards than our last manager in this regard. So 70% in Koemans eyes is probably where Martinez had them last season or maybe they were at even less! Therefore Koeman will bring them where they need to be.

Only a good thing IMHO.

11 Aug 2016 18:49:07
he basically said he is staying (not gone) , all these rumours of coming for a medical etc! are literally smoke without fire, to think otherwise is naive.

11 Aug 2016 19:57:53
RK said the same about Luk and Jags. What do you think the chances of both of them being at the club on Sept 1st?

11 Aug 2016 20:14:28
Very high chance of them staying, Jags definitely and Lukaku unless the 75 Mill valuation is met.

Re the Koeman 70% thing, I personally don't like it and think it's the 1st and I hope only time he uses such a mentality. He's basically saying I know you lot at Goodison turn on your own (we do, we have been awful fans at home the last 2 seasons) so give me a break we will probs get beat on Saturday because Spurs are better but give me a few months and we will be competitive.
It's realistic, its honest, it's just not for a press conference in my opinion.
It might have the effect it would have on a 6 year old where the players come together and say we will show him, however if we win 3-0 he's set standards too high.
Let's face it Saturday will be tough. WBA and Stoke is what I want to see.

I hear what your saying Svenny and understand where your coming from but I take Koeman on his word. He may also be doing what you say, buying time. My reading of the situation ties up with what Koeman has said. He has high fitness standards and is totally different to our last manager.

I expect a completely different approach by the players under Koeman. It will take time to get them where he wants. that's only natural. One particular area is the niceness. Far too nice last season. It will be different from now on. Especially with the players we are signing.

One thing I noticed last season when Koeman was at Southampton. If memory serves me right they started off the season slow and were kind of struggling for the first half. As the season progressed they progressed also. When Koeman got his ideas and tactics instilled in the players after losing so many the summer before they eventually got it right and steadily climbed the table.

Similar enough to his current position. My prediction (I could be totally wrong) is for a slow and shaky start. With a progressive and steady improvement as the season goes on and a top half finish at least come May 2017.

I couldn't agree more nbtb.
