Hi eds any news on this story doing the rounds about Mccarthy wanting to leave for more game time or is it just paper rubbish following the change of tactics early in the west Bromwich game.
{Ed025's Note - i dont think macca is a happy bunny james, ronnie does not hold him in the high esteem that martinez did and sees him more of a squad player than a regular starter, if a bid was big enough then im sure everton would not stand in his way mate but its up to him..

Iv always said this about mcarthy, squad player at best. Gives 100% every game but doesn't have enough quality on the ball. Still got to be worth £20 million + tho in this crazy transfare window.

Thanks Ed thought Jimmy would have more fight in him with Barrys age but I think under Koeman it's a different time no fight time to go.
{Ed025's Note - no sentiment in business they say james, he may decide to stay and fight for his place but that does not guarantee that he wont just sell him anyway mate..

Ed025 you change your mind on any of your above comments? Seeing it has since come out that McCarthy is in fact injured and may need an operation. Koeman also came out again and said McCarthy IS in his plans.
I realise Koeman could be just keeping up appearances. Also that McCarthy even though injured may still want to leave. I'm interested in your opinion.
My guess is the media put 2 and 2 together and got 100,000. Spun a story that they thought made sense. But hey, what do I know.
I do know this that you would be talking to more people in the know than me Ed025. So I'd be interested in what you have to say.
{Ed025's Note - jimmy is a good player NBTB but not first choice for ronnie, he wants to play first team football but the form of gana and barry means thats not happening any time soon, RK will want him as a squad player but jimmy sees things different mate..

Fair enough. Imho he gets a lot of unecassary stick from people. Although he's not top class. Imo he is good and will improve. I don't think he should be getting his place before Barry or Gana but my concern is long term.
Barry is playing well but for how long. I'd be as delighted as anyone if he lasted the whole season on this level but my head is ruling my heart and saying he won't. Next season then who have we? Maybe I'm thinking ahead or worrying too much. Think we will have our work cut out to find someone better than McCarthy.
James has his critics but I was looking forward to him improving under the new regime and manager. Imo he was going to benefit most within the existing players from the change. I had him tipped to be the most improved come the end of the season. That was depending on him being a regular starter.
Indications at the moment is that is just not meant to be. Especially with this injury. It's a long season though and there is many a slip between a cup and a lip. So I hope things change for the better with McCarthy. Imho the club with benefit from him.
It's no biggy and I'm delighted with the direction the club is going in the last six months. Every which way the club is improving. Thank the lord, no doubt every Evertonian deserves the up turn as it was long overdue.
