Cheers, hope this comes off. Sad to leave the grand old lady but if we wanna compete top end its the only way forward . coyb.

All i want from the new stadium is the same atmosphere as the grand old lady but bigger and better facilities.

{Ed025's Note - i imagine it will take a bit of getting used to fozza, west ham, arsenal and southampton all struggled to perform early on in theirs, but as tou say its the only way forward if we want to be eating at the top table mate..

KK like many on here I will no doubt shed a tear or 2 when Goodison is no longer our home stadium, I first went there with my dad when I was 7 and watched what I can only describe as demigod like beings in beautiful royal blue shirts!

Any way onwards and upwards because the very thought of a waterfront stadium sends just as many shivers down my spine 🙌.

Totally agree 247 exciting times.

Having been a driver to Goodison for the last 6 years since I moved to the Wirral my only concern is not only the traffic with it being so close to the city centre but also the parking in and around the proposed site. I know this will obviously be on the agenda but what are the thoughts of others who go by car? St James Park has an under stadium car park which takes around 3 days to get out of. I see transport being a major factor in the planning committees granting of planning permission.

Gray living on the Wirral would be advantageous if there was a ferry pier outside the ground .

Further to what Ed025 said about teams struggling at new grounds, I would hope any design works on similar lines to Juventus's new stadium, The J Stadium. The designers have got the crowd within feet of the pitch creating a fantastic, (& menacing to visiting teams) , atmosphere. It seems to have worked there as I think Juve have only been beaten 3 times there in as many seasons.
As for transport links, surely it can't be worse than trying to get from Switch Island to Goodison?!

{Ed025's Note - i think thats where west ham have gone wrong tezza, the fans want to be nearer the pitch like they were at the bolyn ground as the atmosphere seems to have gone and it looks like its affecting the players as well, im sure our new architects will take that into consideration though mate..

24 Sep 2016 12:49:20
Some good examples in germany . Nothing like west ham please.

{Ed025's Note - i like the emirates myself KK, but as you say nothing like west ham because when they score its 10 minutes after that the crowd cheers they are that far away mate.. :)

24 Sep 2016 13:07:40
I say nothing like west ham, because liverpool rumoured for the com games .

Iv'e never been to the London Stadium, however the one significant observation I got while watching a live match there on TV, was my other half who is indifferent to footy at best, commenting impromtu how quiet it all seemed compared to other PL matches etc.
My point being this stadium doesn't appear conducive to creating an exciting atmosphere .
Hertha Berlin in the Olympiastadiun which has no retractable seating Ok, is under debate currently because the cons seem to be outweighing the pros so to speak and that's just one example of failure in this respect, Juve's solution has already been mentioned.
Atmosphere at a football match has got to be one of the crucial boxes to tick!

25 Sep 2016 10:22:15
How about the Alianze arena if that's how it's spelt or romas new ground looks fantastic.

25 Sep 2016 11:16:54
Yes it was bought in the week commencing 15th August.

I have to agree the London stadium, as a football ground, looks awful.

I watched the game on S/ Sports over the weekend and the people doing the most work appeared to be the ball boys who had to sprint 50 meters just to return the ball for a throw in.

The away team must absolutely love it, they can’t hear the jeers and abuse and can’t see the whites of home spectators eyes.

The 12th man has gone.

I think West Ham have made a major booboo here.

''I think West Ham have made a MAJOR booboo here. ''

Right now Ratch, it's looking like a 5 star General mate 😜.

Has anyone seen Athletic Bilbao's new stadium or Dortmund's.
Just hope its a bear pit intimidating volatile atmosphere!
Also try get the Archibald Leach design in there!

28 Sep 2016 09:19:21
Had a glimpse of Bilbao's ground yesterday I think it was from the 'Echo' looks brilliant and the Westfalenstadion is what it's all about and then some omg 😲.
