We are 7th so be it.
Could we please buy a decent keeper for next season please.
Small acorns but Dear God the two we've got are not fit for purpose.

Agree2 Disagree1

Who do you suggest give me 3 who would come to us.

{Ed007's Note - Fraser Forster, Artur Boruc and Wes Foderingham! :-D

It's not just a keeper we need let's face it, as much as it hurts to say we've been bad all over the park the last two games, like we said last night there in holiday mode. what do you think ed.

{Ed025's Note - it was a typical end of season with nothing to play for performance AB, what it did show was the gulf in class between the two teams and why they are at the top and we are in 7th, chelsea,s passing was a lot crisper and the level of skill they possess very evident, it also showed that we have a long way to go until we can dine at the top table and be considered top 4 material, the summer will be pivotal and the new faces we bring in must hit the ground running if we are to compete, im still very positive about the future but it may prove a bigger job than we and RK thought mate..

01 May 2017 09:12:01
Your right ed, but what about the fans they didn't pay end of season prices, but yes were well adrift of the top 4 just look at the bench no one jumps out at your. What's your take on Rooney I know we've talked about this before.

{Ed025's Note - hopefully our bench will be a lot stronger next season AB, i have always said never go back on the rooney debate, he is at the tail end of whats been a great career for him but imo we need hungry young players who will run their socks off and become our future, i get all the "once a blue always a blue"rhetoric but it would be a mistake to take wazza back for me mate..

01 May 2017 09:27:18
Koeman says he needs one more window, can't agree with that do you ed? I can think of dozen who need shipping out let alone god knows how many we need to bring in.

{Ed025's Note - im thinking 3 or 4 windows myself jbg, yesterday chelsea showed us how far we have to go to be up there with the best, this is not a quick fix and as much as i applaud RK,s optimism i think we are quite a way off that goal with the present squad mate..

01 May 2017 09:49:07
I think this window is potentially biggest of our history. Barkley and Lukaku both showed yesterday why it's time to go. So with £110m from them + proceeds of McCarthy, McGeady, Geri etc in addition to what we can already spend under FFP then lots of changes / improvements can be made. On keeper issue above - Boruc is a horrendous shout - even Bournemouth are looking to replace him. Butland or Schmeichel for me, two CB, (Keane and VVD please) , Sigurddson, Teulemans and a couple of quality strikers.
Then we would be in business.

01 May 2017 10:15:33
Your right ed I would much rather have someone who can cover their park like Davies yesterday. I don't know about one more window I think this is going to take longer, and first of all we've got to prove to people we're worth singing for or there not going to come. Ok so we're in Europe is that such a good thing?

{Ed025's Note - it has to be AB, top players want european football and i know its only the europa league but it shows that we have ambition and are hopefully going places mate..

01 May 2017 10:26:54
Hope your right ed but our season would start in June and look at what them over the road and Chelsea have done this year without it. How's the golf mate.

{Ed025's Note - i dont have a problem with the season starting in june AB, the sooner the better for me and it may get the team in better shape for the start of the EPL campaign, the golf is not too bad at the moment mate, the season has just started and i finished 3rd in the first comp, but with my game that does not mean i wont be 23rd in the next one.. :)

01 May 2017 10:41:33
The sooner the better for me as well then we know what we've got. Good luck with the golf.

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

Yes I do agree at least another 3 windows to sort out are squad. I do feel that getting us to 7th is a good achievement by Koeman after the mess we where left in by Martinez.

The biggest problem I fear is that Koeman does not have a history of staying at clubs long term and he could leave after next season which is his style. Everton are back to where we where under Moyes but the next jump is a big one, I feel it will take time.

Spurs built their squad on the back of EL. they're doing alright!

01 May 2017 19:44:25
Spurs got lucky. Just as man Utd did having the right kids at the right time. Kane only got his chance through injuries but he took it very well. They brought in eriksen and alli at the right time but they had the right boss with the right players (most of them) at the right time. They struggle at Wembley so maybe tough for them next season. (I hope)
We just need to be lucky (clever) with who we sign and who we bring through (kids) and who we let go.
going to be very interesting summer for us blues.

01 May 2017 21:04:40
Way you explained it sounds the opposite of luck, Geoff. Making the right signings, bringing the right manager in. Astute, not luck.

01 May 2017 07:55:14
Thanks ed but the question I was asking was a reply to mushy thanks again.

{Ed007's Note - No you didn't, you never addressed the post to any particular individual so hence the proposition of assumption proves it was a general question to anyone unfortunate enough to read it.}

02 May 2017 06:52:26
Hugo, I suppose it does sound like that but there is always a bit of luck involved. Look at Leicester last season. No one would ever say they have the best players at the right time with the best manager.
Spurs have built a good young side but they have not won anything yet. Still need that little slice of luck needed to win things, (dodgy pens or fluke o.g.)

02 May 2017 22:16:56
Look how far we've come after 1 window? Not counting the 1st window as RK had to evaluate the squad. He's proved he can be ruthless I'm expecting big things come the summer transfers!
On the up!

03 May 2017 12:27:12
I honestly have no idea what to expect this window. The list of players we have been linked with is endless. Who really has a clue what we will do. I don't think anyone does tbh. Everyone is just guessing. As usual with the blues don't believe anything until you see them signed.

03 May 2017 16:15:40
IMO being in the EL next season may be really good for us. RK may use some of the fixtures to try out some of the emerging U23's with some of our more experienced players which should benefit their development. We have a very good U23 squad but don't really know how many are good enough to step up to the 1st team. I'm hoping that quite a few can join Holgate Davies and DCL in the 1st team squad. Home grown talent is what we have all been wanting for years.
