Eds, just curious. given this pending Barkley statement. do you think Ross is playing the odds regarding his contract terms or is it deeper than that. Obviously RMs management style was completely different to koeman. who really does call a spade a spade. definitely a straight talker. possibly bordering on rude/ aggressive. I speak from very limited experience. my take is that Ross is no longer being Molly coddled. RK expects him to grow a pair and be accountable more often. indeed a player RK can rely on. I'm guessing Ross is struggling with the challenge. Your thoughts?

{Ed025's Note - i think thats true to a certain extent Jcl, he has always been the local lad who did good but koeman is not buying any of that guff, ross is being manipulated by his agent who is promising untold riches and stardom and the gullible young idiot is buying it hook line and sinker, for me everton are in the box seat on this one and ross could end up with egg on his face if no worthwhile club shows any interest mate..

Agree1 Disagree0

Cheers ed. many of these lads forget what it was like to dream about playing for their team. nor think about what life could be like if they had not made it. Players bang on about playing champions league but reality is not all can. but at least they get well rewarded and adored by many. shame they don't always realise that.

{Ed025's Note - your spot on Jcl, most of us would give our eye teeth to represent this club for nothing at all, greed is a terrible trait i think mate..

{Ed025's Note - another 2...steven pienaar..

If Barkley doesn't sign he'll end up at somewhere like West Ham or Newcastle.

Joleon lesscot.

John Stones hasn't found the grass is greener at Man City. He has been replaced by an injury prone 32 year old Vincent Company who Pep seems to like more than Stones!

Francis Jeffers.

Tbh only a handful of players have left Everton to relative success in recent times.

Handful? Rooney and maybe Arteta. Who else had success after leaving? Don't think Mustafi qualifies in this argument.

Fellaini might have a winners medal after tonight.

Lescott has won the League to be fair.

{Ed007's Note - Gravesen won La Liga and reached the pinnacle of football by playing for Celtic AND winning the league with them - a double whammy!}

Lescott and Gravesen is true have won medals. Were they a success with their clubs? I think not. Just because they got medals doesn't necessarily mean they were a big success when they moved. Some will think they were. That's fair enough.

The way I look at it both clubs that they both went to couldn't wait to get rid if them when there one and only contracts ran out. Speaks volumes to me when their new clubs did not off them new contracts to keep them.

Fellaini isn't exactly adored by Utd fans. Success? I guess he's a work in progress. Hope he does win tonight. All 3 were terrific at Everton. Imho all 3 even though won or will win medals were not a success with their clubs.
