another deal completed welcome keano i saw a report that lamine kone could be part of a swap deal for mcgeady + 5 mill that would give us real competition at the back just brilliant if that come off as well. anybody got an update on martina?

Honestly don't think we need martina. Kenny and holgate can cover until seamus is back. Think we need a lb more than rb.

Not overly keen on Kone tbh. He looked like he gave up at Christmas last season when it was clear Sunderland were going down. I get that he couldn't keep them up on his own, but at least give it a go.
That aside, never thought I'd see the day we would have spent £90m three days after the window opened. Moshiri reallt has been the dream investor who's done what he said he would. Absolutely cannot wait for the season to start!
{Ed025's Note - personally i dont see kone as an upgrade on the likes of jags, williams or funes mori windsor, if we were to purchase another CH i would prefer it to be a ball player rather than another stopper myself mate..

I wouldn't take kone at all floats. he looked decidedly average last year for Sunderland and I think we can sign better.

yeh kone is just another body. however he was great at sunderland in his first year and it proved to be a mistake when moyes blocked his move last season imho he lost his will to play for them after coming so close to a move to us i think he has something to offer tho and for 5 mill would be a mistake not to sign him.

Right now they could a blind begger and I would be happy. Just can't believe what's going on at the club. I mean Sandro 5m, what a deal that is. Can see this lad tearing it up in the prem. Can't stop smiling.

Don't forget Tom Davies can play right back also so we have the position covered with Davies, Holgate and Kenney until Coleman is fit. We don't need another over-the-hill player.

listening to comments on the rb position i would agree it was just that all the talk so far has turned into transfers just wondered why the martina deal stalled.

another body in contention for a starting 11 will make the defence stronger imo will make williams jags and keane and mori raise they're game 10 fold from last season when it was a case of if your fit you'd probs play and we do have some quality kids there is no doubt but i don't expect them to put too much pressure on the older players
this season, definitely next season tho when we will probs say bye to williams and jags. picking up any player with pl experience for 5 mill is a no brainer whether you like him or not but you know you could all be right and it might not work out still i reckon we would get our 5 mill back.
