Hi Ed 002 if you were advising Everton on the next manager who would it be? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - it is difficult but I think the job needs someone has no language issues at all. Someone like Hoddle would be a great coach for the club but it may need someone to work with the players that are there and to potentially have external interference if Moshiri is to look to bring someone in above the coach and the Director of Football/head of scouting - effectively a Sporting Director. The club has an odd structure with Walsh in the Director of Football. In that case the likes of Coleman or Dyche may be strong enough characters to work. Else the biggest problem is the mistake of having a scout in a role which is beyond anything he has done before. If he has power over the coach then getting a manager in with his own coaching staff in, that might be the answer. It is a tough one Eddy.

No language issues. That rules Coleman out then 😉.

It’s another massive decision as a club and we need to get it right. I don’t think Unsworth is the man as nice as if seems fairytale I’d you like but we do need to be attracting a manager who can have an appeal to incoming players of wanting to play for him as sad as it seems the club alone at the minute may not be a good pull to players at the minute. This seasons aim now is to stay in the PL.

Ed002 - Tell you what mate. Great shout with Hoddle. Been saying he needs a job in the prem for years. His knowledge of the game is up there with the very best.

It could be wise for someone else to do the press conferences if hoddle comes in.

Hi Ed so with a Sporting Director what would their responsibility be then?
Are there other clubs out there that have a Sporting Director sitting over the Head coach/ manager and the director of scouting?

{Ed002's Note - typically they would have the first team manager/coach reporting to them, whoever oversees the youth and ladies sides, the head of scouting etc.. I can’t think of any other clubs that have a scout in that role.}

So in clubs who have a Sporting Director role as well as well as the managers from first team youth and ladies would a head of scouting report up into this Sporting Director?
Would seem more sensible to adopt that set up.

{Ed002's Note - that is the norm ST although Everton has this odd paradigm shift by having SW as Director of Football.}

Thanks for the added insight maybe this would be a good time for the board to review the structure.

{Ed002's Note - If it makes you feel better Liverpool has a sports analyst in that role.}

*** Red Alert ***

For years we’ve (LFC) been playing players out of position, Ed002. It’s no surprise that some of the non-playing staff are also ill-suited to their roles!

We’ve so many areas / issues that need to be addressed as we look shambolic and amateurish at (most) times.
