Hi Ed, hope you enjoyed your travels and have arrived back safely. Was just wondering if you would be able to give us the full update please mate, no worries if not. Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Here you go Joe.

Need RB, CB, CM, RW and S but money will be tighter and sales need to happen to raise funds and make space in the squad - no "homegrown" issues.

Alex Telles (LWB) - no chance of a move to Everton, but he has been looked at for reasons that are unclear to me

Velentine Lazaro (RM/RW/RB) looked at by RBL, Newcastle, Brighton, Bayer Leverkusen, Leicester and Everton but talks are on-going with Napoli who expect to strike a deal - but he would be a great fix for the right hand side, particularly if Malcom could be added as well

Kurt Zouma (CB) Everton has asked a "third party" to talk with Chelsea about the price of KZ, but it is unclear if the player would be open to the move and there is tentative interest from elsewhere - else Everton may need integrate Matthew Pennington in to the squad

Abdoulaye Doucoure (DM/CM) - if Gueye moves Everton may look to him as an option again, but Watford don't want to sell

Andre Gomes (CM) first choice for CM is to complete the signing of AG but it could take a big chunk out of the summer budget

Bruno Fernandes (AM) - No chance that anything will come of it

Malcom (RW) - something may well be possible

Edin Dzeko (S) an enquiry has been made but with his age it would be only a short term fix
Rafael Leao (S) watched by Everton after he impressed when the scouts were there to watch another player (Thiago Maia). Barcelona also has an interest in Rafael Leao and a number of other sides including Newcastle, Manchester City and Spurs have looked at him. It might be a tough ask to drop out of a likely Champions League club and move to Everton in the summer.}

Great info Ed. If we do lose Gueye in the summer then Doucoure would be a great replacement for me. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I would agree but I would not hold my breath for Abdoulaye Doucoure to be making a move to Everton. My pick would be Jordan Veretout who is available and could be seen as a financially viable option.}

Thanks Ed I really do hope we promote some of u23s who have been doing well into the squad next season. Can you see us getting a back up for Pickford.

{Ed002's Note - I would think next year is more likely when Stekelenburg's contract runs out.}

Ed When you say Veretout would be your choice, does that mean Everton have looked at him as an option?
Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Superb mate as ever, thankyou. It’s going to be just as important that we manage to raise sales for these types of players, is there much interest that you know of in terms of players leaving mate? e.g Tosun, Walcott, not too sure about Schneiderlin etc.

{Ed002's Note - I would think that the following will either be available or subject to interest from elsewhere Joe:
Cuco Martina (RB/D) - need to find a buyer in the low countries I would think - no future at Everton
Luke Garbutt (LB) decision to be made
Leighton Baines (LB) out of contract
Michael Keane (CB) Everton will look to keep him but there will be interest
Kurt Zouma (CB) Everton want to buy Zouma
Phil Jagielka (CB) maybe retirement is the best option - out of contract
Ashley Williams (CB) - strikes me if he keeps playing he will be fodder for someone like Port Vale
Morgan Schneiderlin (DM) - if a buyer can be found but may need to keep if Gueye gets his wish to leave - perhaps the summer but Everton will need to keep the asking price reasonable
Idrissa Gueye (CM/DM) - PSG keen and the one that could bring in much needed money
Muhamed Besic (CM)
Andres Gomes (CM Everton will try to buy him
James McCarthy (CM) - a loan maybe but if no and he gets little game time then he will have to look to move on in the summer for better opportunities
Ademola Lookman (W) same as last year
Theo Walcott (RW)
Yannick Bolasie (LW)
Kevin Mirallas (S)
Cenk Tosun (S)
Shani Tarashaj (S)
Sandro Ramírez (S)
Oumar Niasse (S).}

Thank you Ed, it looks like it could be a big summer. Hope you enjoyed your travels mate.

{Ed002's Note - It would be reasonable to expect a lot more would be leaving rather than arriving Joe.

David Neres RW from Ajax apparently talks under way over possible transfer.

05 Apr 2019 23:31:45
No mention of a keeper to push Pickford at all very suprising.

06 Apr 2019 15:58:49
Well if championship manager is to go by I bought Neres in 2019 for Everton it is now 2026 and we have won champions league 3 yrs on trot, are defending world club champs and he is 3 times world player of year :) just saying.

07 Apr 2019 08:56:09
How likely Christian Koame Genoa?

08 Apr 2019 15:36:52
Thanks ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You can now add Kieran Trippier (RB) to the list.}

08 Apr 2019 19:53:52
How old is trippier now Ed? Think he’s a good right back but it will be a challenge to replace Seamus. I also would take a lint on Mitrovic, seri or sessengong from Fulham.

{Ed001's Note - 28.}
