Everton have joined the race to sign Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland. Butland is an england under 21 international and is being watched by no less than 52 clubs,he is rated at £3m and Everton see him as the long term replacement for Tim Howard

He will probably end up waiting four years before he could even attempt to take howards spot. 33 is not that old for a keeper at the moment, as he keeps in peak physical shape he could well go on till hes 40.

My point is we will be unlikely to get this kid as he will require first team football which we will not be able to offer. He would probably be better off in the championship for another season or two

Surely it depends on how good he is - look at Joe Hart, he saw off Shay Given at City.
