If Martinez is keeping his money to try buy Lukaku in the summer I think it will be a big mistake don't get me wrong he is a decent player but he is not the goal machine we have craved for so long.Chelsea will want 25mill plus for him I just think if were going to spend that much surely there is better around for that sort of cash.

I agree. A long way off that valuation. Has great potential but hold-up play and first touch need to improve massively.

I think if we are going to stick with one up front then really for that role which is not just about goals there is not too many better options who a)we could afford b) would want to join us c) are as young with the potential to develop much further.
I have said a few times I think he is being rated to highly for his performances this season. Has been very hot and cold for me. However he does have enormous potential and he seems to be a very bright and grounded guy as well.
Ultimately CL or no CL next season I just can't see him signing permanently for us, sadly he will have so many options including Chelsea next season

I agree stef. Think he can be a bit hot and cold. He seems quite lazy to me. Doesn't win many headers and his first touch can be awful. If were going to spend that sort of money that chelsea would be asking then there is a lot better than him

Sorry if this upsets folk but from what I have seen over the past couple of games grips my s##t, watching him mope around the pitch huffing and puffing when the ball is not put exactly to his feet along with never going in for the second tackle. Calling it burnout does not wash with me that's why I think it was a mistake to sell jela! I know the goals dried up but his workload was fantastic. Even only half way through the season Lakaku looks like he cannot be bothered anymore.

Totally agree lancer
